Eshal Elohai Yig'al Shevuyim - I Ask My God to Redeem the Hostages
An ancient piyut - prayer asking God to save hostages. Dedicated to all the hostages currently in the hands of terrorists in Gaza. May God bring them home unscathed immediately and heal their bodies and souls. May God protect our soldiers and guide the hands, helping them defeat Ḥamas and all our enemies swiftly and effectively, and may God bring peace to Israel and the whole Middle East.
Eshal Elohai: A Yemenite piyut written by Yehosef ben Yisrael, 17th century

Lyrics:
I ask my God - redeem the hostages, gather the scattered ones
In the merit of the one called father of multitudes of nations [=Abraham], may they merit life
When they call out in Your name, let them be answered, for they are desired
Do not pass them over into the hands of despicable ones, for they are treasured
In the merit of the one whose name was called mistress, Yiskah and Sarah
and [the merit of] her son [Isaac] who heard the voice of Mighty [God], and was bound like cattle
And [the merit of] all the descendants of Jacob who are miserable because they are oppressed
In the merit of their ancestors return their captives, and rebuild their homes
Let us go up to our Land with song and rejoicing, singing and celebration

בערבות הנגב / BeArvot HaNegev / In the Wilderness of the Negev

Thinking about the soldiers and the hostages, I created this second experiment. A beautiful Israeli folk song called "Be'arvot HaNegev" - בערבות הנגב - meaning "In the Plains of the Negev", about a dialog between a mother and her soldier son. Hard to sing without getting teary. 🙁 I'll put a translation of the lyrics below. הקדוש ברוך הוא ישמור ויציל את חיילנו. ידבר שונאינו תחתיהם ויעטרם בכתר יש...

clip from second episode of Newhart
What the freaking heck? There’s a 300 year old corpse buried in the basement of that inn? Why didn’t anyone dig her up and BURY HER IN A PROPER CEMETERY before Newhart’s character got ownership of the inn?
We used to watch this show when I was a kid, I always remembered those 3 brothers.
One of the best sitcoms that was funny and did it without bad language.
Larry, Darryl, Darryl. Those guys were funny as crap.
the look on Mary Fran`s face, like she would do anything to get Larry, Darryl and Darryl out of the house..
It's like Newhart took the lesson from Benny that you only need to react to the people around you...just be the sane one.
That is when TV was funny
That show was like the battle of the deadpan comedians 🤣
Bob was the original straight guy.
The minister is his real life father-in-law. Just learned that recently…..
The man playing the reverend was Bob’s father inlaw Bill Quinn.
My life was never the same after this.
Larry, Darryl , and Darryl were priceless.
Good job! We had a bumper crop of cukes watermelon and the pumpkins are getting ready. We are just about done here in Florida. Planting a 2nd crop of tomatoes and eggplant. Love to see the Monarch’s! We don’t get them here.
Totally loved Mary Frann....🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This show was no BOB NEWHART SHOW. I never felt the same about it. But Larry, Darryl and Darryl were a GENIUS idea! Couldn’t wait to see them walk through the door. 😄
Larry was played by William Sanderson who was JF Sebastian in Blade Runner😊
I remember Tom from the Steve Allen Show in the Fifties!
Give Bob Newhart a telephone and just sit back and enjoy.
R.I.P Bob! You were one of the best! Could really make me laugh! So funny!😅
😊
Mary Frann honestly looks like she is trying her best not to laugh.
Bob Newhart's father-in-law, Bill Quinn, played the priest at 0:35.
I enjoyed this man’s work for so many years. Rest in peace thank you.
Oh, how I miss those days.
Hi, I’m Larry, this is my brother Darryl, and this is my other brother Darryl.
I lived in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and lots of this stuff is true. Lots of bachelor brothers. Strange thing is that Larry has a Southern accent, not a real Vermont one. People don't realize that Vermont is an Appalachian area.
Of course, Larry and Daryl and other Daryl would go on to become regulars, but I always thought that the funniest part of this introduction was that Anything for a Buck was quite literal. Whatever you wanted them to do, they charged one dollar.
RIP Bob Newhart.
Rest in peace Bob Newhart.
Rest in peace, Bob Newhart!! Another icon gone ❤🙏
RIP Bob. A true American classic.
Only one of tv funnest men ever !😅
Bob Newhart passed
The good ole' days
RIP Bob Newhart. Binging on clips. I so enjoy the show as an adult. I was a kid when it was originally on. I love watching clips now.
A comedic legend.
RIP BOB
This is so funny, even today in 2024 - hilarious!
Larry Daryl and the other brother Daryl, dear God I remember laughing that hard when I was little and seeing it again and I’m laughing that hard again 😂😂😂
I wish that Larry Darryl and Darryl were given their own show
Don't know if they upgraded by replacing that neighbor and the cleaning lady with Julia Duffy and that other guy - i guess he was a star working with Tom Hanks in another show
When I was a kid my parents and I watched this show every week. I have fond memories of watching this show.
~Imagine hearing THAT LINE the first time! I Remember!😊😂
~Imagine carrying around a ✏️ PENCIL!
3:06 Outlandish and hysterical laughter from the get-go. They are destined for comedic infamy.
The Heralds of Comedy… “Anything for a Buck”
Great acting!
Back when tv was good writing, good acting, and you could hear the lines rather than the overwhelming musical soundtrack that dominates today's shows.
Just outstanding comedy - even today ... now I am gonna watch reruns ... just watching that one clip vs. what is on today?
