It is on 1440p max settings, and performance of 4070 laptop is only equal to 3070 Ti

The cpu is bottleneck in some games, 7700hq is not enough in 2024. and 1080p FSR quality = 720p, that means you lower the resolution which will make cpu bottleneck even worse. It should be fine if you have 6 cores cpu like 8750h.

The laptop has 1440p screen by default, the default setup is 16gb ram+ 1TB ssd, I later upgrade to 32gb and 2tb.

Turn on turbo mode. My laptop runs at 120w on default mode, while in turbo mode it goes up to 150w.

Yes, 3070ti is on par with 4070. new generation only have advantages if you use frame generation and DLSS. beside of that, Almost no improvement in raw performance.

The performance should be similar or even better. Recording also affects the performance, lost 5-10 fps while recording depending on the games.

Gtx 1070 max-Q is about 10-15% slower than full power gtx 1070 mobile.

By looking at the specs, Your laptop should perform better, check if you have overheating issue.

@randomgameclips2412 are you using performance mode in this vid? I got the same laptop but the cpu temp constantly spike up to 100c on performance when playing the game like cyberpunk and assasins creed title

As I remembered, seems like it is on default , not in high performance mode, because I did not change any settings in nitro sense.

Yes but the tgp it is 140w too. Most 4070 laptop won’t utilize power at 140w, in most case it runs at only 100w. And there is no difference between 100w and 140w. @@randomgameclips2412I have watched that video, but there is a thing here. When I choose balance mode on MSI center. My GPU hits maximum 100w, when I choose turbo and turn off turbo boost of cpu, I can get 127-130 and I can see how the FPS changes for 10-15 percent. Especially in Far Cry 5 i have notice 23-27fps difference. The second game is metro exodus redux. On 2k i felt a good difference.

Oh, I see. Maybe because I tested on default, I did not change any settings in control center. The result maybe different with performance/turbo mode.

Seems like it is ram not vram. For this game VRAM is not shown in MSI overlay.

@@zyzzin6950 Brother, at higher resolutions, 4060 is so close in performance. in the test up there, you can clearly see 4060 on par with 4070 in games but only in cpu intensive games such as Microsoft Flight Simulator the 4070 performed better because of having a better cpu. 4070 super is slightly better, about 10% faster.

I only test benchmark, did not play on this gpu for long time, not sure if it has such issues.

dlss 3.5 and frame gen besides the minuscule performance gain… with frame gen you get near double the frames in the immersive games where any hit to input lag in unnoticeable. For example hellblade 2 looks great on my 4070 laptop using quality dlss and high settings around 40-50 fps, but frame gen making it hit 80+ is worth it. I copped an Asus TUF f15 for $950 so it’s great if you cop a deal

You're totally right, but tbh the one with the RTX 4070 was way more expensive in my country, so I just had no choice but to buy the one with the RTX 4060 I only hope I haven't lost much

What is future proof when the card 8gb vram same as rtx 4060,I bought 4060 for 1000$ and iam happy with that,when rtx 5060 come I will buy that but if the difference between 5060 and 5070 be huge then I will go for 5070

@@retrogamer847 I agree. Actually these 4060/4070 are for my opinion good choices because low temp, low wattage consuming and still powerful. Ideal for laptop use. I was going to buy Legion Slim 5 with 4060 by myself too but i had good luck and got huge discount sale for customer return machine with 4070 and then it was even cheaper than 4060.
