Dancing with Crows - Season 2 Episode 3
Season Finale. Let's turn up the heat.
This test is quite a bit more complex than pulling the cup off the peanut. I found that the crows were weary of the contraption, but managed to acclimate them to it and to a much closer camera.
Success or Failure? Place your bets.
Also note that the space between the visits again extended into a couple of days. My theory is that they're either nesting or have a brood that they're taking care of.
Very similar to last year, near the end of April, the crows stopped visiting me altogether. I enjoyed their company and I look forward to challenging them next year. Thanks for watching.

Dancing with Crows - Season 2 Episode 2

In introduced this puzzle to see if the crow would still solve it without being able to see the peanut visually. Just like the last episode, he seemed to have already figured this out immediately. As a twist, I tied the cup upside down and prevented it from being knocked over. This caused the last peanut to be 'out of reach'. You'll see how he approaches the problem. Also shown is the arrival o...

I started putting peanuts out on the balcony towards the end of March wondering whether the crows would come back. For a few weeks, I only saw bluejays taking peanuts. Finally, in early April, I saw my first crow on the feeder. I setup my video camera and started off with the same gadget that I used last year. This is a votive candle holder with a string attached with hot glue. It was almost li...

In the spring of 2023, I started to notice some crows visiting my back balcony. I bought a few peanuts to try to make friends. Along the way, I decided to test out the theory that Crows are very smart. Here's the recap to last year's season: ua-cam.com/play/PLRWf3tblLQBPfy8-uID-tKad-RDbOBTyT.html This year the crows came back.

Trying an opaque container. Before with a glass container they could easily see it had peanuts inside. With an opaque container, will they look? #HowToTrainCrows #MurderOfCrows #DancingWithCrows

It appears that we have fully solved the "peanut under glass" puzzle. Let's move on to more interesting stuff. I'll see if they can be convinced to check under an opaque container. (closed captions) It appears to me that this is more than one crow - but who's to say for sure? Training Crows for fun and profit. Can you train a crow to bring you stuff? Like $5 bills? There's only one way to find ...

I've been having crows visit my balcony for a free peanut or two for some time. I've heard that they're really intelligent and you can have them solve puzzles. Hmm..
A pair of Brown Headed Cowbirds stopped in for breakfast
Переглядів 72 роки тому
Cowbirds lay eggs in other bird's nests so the host bird raises the chicks as their own. I knew some soccer parents like that.
Blue Jay - Thanksgiving.

It took a while but I finally got the blue jay to like my peanuts enough to endure the camera sitting so close. He's a bit picky it seems on what makes a good nut. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

May 30 Deer Trail Captures
Переглядів 164 роки тому
This spot is heavily wooded and the wild raspberries make getting into it a real fight. It's heavily travelled by a number of deer though. Here's a few captures. The bucks near the end are showing some good antler growth. More to come.
Close Encounters

A few close encounters by some curious beasts. Love these. See if you can guess the type of animal before it reveals itself. Warning to those with headphones: Prepare to be sniffed.
May 23 Blues Creek Cam 4
Переглядів 144 роки тому
Another set of early summer bucks crossing the river after a rain. I believe that the swirly effect in segment 3 is a swarm of flies just in front of the lens. I'm not sure if the buck is interested in the flies or the lens, but he takes a close look.

This one is trying to figure you out.
Are you teasing the crows again?
That dude has your number.
Didn’t take him long to beat you at that trick.
Those peanuts must be hard. What a challenge. You and a bird.
Quite teasing him.
They wanted a deluxe breakfast.
Good placement. Lots of activity. The buck is going to have nice brow tines 👍
Just off the path behind rec center?
No. But that’d be a good spot. I’m looking for some new locations.
They ate getting pretty nosy.lol
You sure you didn’t put food on that thing. Young buck, fuzzy antlers.
He likes that camera
It is fun to watch the same buck grow and see how his antlers progress.
That's true. Sadly I may have a challenge with this location going forward. I should have more news soon.
Double!!! 😁 Great two species capture! New goal...three species 😜
Challenge accepted.
👍
Hi I found your channel from Tim Harrell, I also started a trail cam channel. One of my cameras is also a CamPark. One of your does definitely has a baby bump. Lets grow this community.
Absolutely! Welcome aboard. I’m starting to question the CamPark’s. I love their size, and their interface is reallly good. Temperature and Time and their sensitivity was great during the winter months. But in the warmer days, I’ve started to have some failures and some cameras that are producing no videos. Just a learning process, I guess. Good luck, and stay tuned.
They always look leery! 😜 Great footage 👍
Great deer crossing 👍
Thanks. More good stuff coming from this same spot. Stay tuned.
Seems pretty comfortable just hanging out.
It hung around for a full 10 mins. Out for a morning stroll, but I believe it definitely saw the infrared from the camera. This is the second deer I've had walk right up to the lens.
Great capture 👍
Thanks. What's that saying about "better being lucky than good"? He was even nice enough to turn back into frame.
Nice clips! I’d have a thousand videos on a windy day with that branch in front of the cam 😂🤣😂
Yes, indeed. I'm learning some lessons on placement, etc. These are in more traveled areas, so I try to keep them a little camouflaged.
I understand. Having them in public places I’d hard! Keep up the good work 👍
