[IL] I-294 SB and I-57 SB New Interchange
Filmed 26 October 2014. New (1 day old!) interchange connecting southbound Interstate 294 (Tri-State Tollway) with southbound Interstate 57. This is one of two exits, the other connecting I-57 NB with I-294 NB, that opened in the first phase of the interchange project. The second phase, connecting the remaining exits, is expected to open in 2023. The interchange was previously one of the few in the US where two major Interstate highways did not connect directly.

Typing on a 22 year old IBM Model M Keyboard
Переглядів 142 тис.13 років тому
Update (Aug 18 2012): For those of you wondering, I am legitimately typing in this video. I believe it was text from a magazine, which itself was out of view of the camera. To be honest, I don't think I could even attempt to fake the natural rhythm of the typing if I were to type gibberish. However, I'm sure there were a few mistakes in what I typed! Typing on a 22 year old IBM Model M keyboard...

The Tri-State Tollway (Interstate 294) in Chicagoland
Boy does this brings back memories .
I miss bergners
totheark has the best taste in ASMR
The girls on the phone was my friend and me for sure. Lol.
They should have stayed independent. Then maybe at least some of the stores would have been around now.
I came here from marble hornets
reminds me of my childhood what fun period. I moved to Georgia but always visit at village sad gone lot of memories there, so many people that worked there over the years class whs 82. Peoria was so fun.
Marble Hornets
Oh, if only I had saved all of mine!!!
Nice video 👍 sure looks cold. Subscribed
They just closed the Bergner’s one town over from us in Peru 2018.
It is too bad that a beautiful department store like Bergner's is shutting down forever. My favorite store growing up in Ottawa (Peru Mall). One of the commercials showed a whole bunch of people shopping at the Sheridan Village store. Yes, people went shopping. It is fun. Now I go into any store and it is dead. Thank you Amazon. Stay tuned for a couple of special videos on my channel documenting Bergner's in Peoria and a slide show of all of the facades of the Bergner's and Carson's in Illinois. Amazing commercials.
The Peru Mall is sadly next to go.
I thought I was a fast typer..
R.I.P. Bergners
I spent many an hour roaming the Bergner's store in Sheridan Village in the late 60's while I waited for mom to get off work next door (or so) at Schradski's.
Went inside the Sheridan Village store a couple times in recent months; one time last fall and another earlier this month in the middle (probably beginning) of their liquidation... Caterpillar possibly moving their HQ to Chicago and the closing of Bergners' first ever non downtown store... the hits just keep coming to Peoria, much less Central Illinois in general...
These are the most wonderful things ever. Can't thank you enough for taking the time to post!!!
Got here from Korg Volca Group.. hahah
I wonder how it would be like working in an environment where ten or hundreds of people were using this keyboard in their cubicles for software development. Most probably, many people would require a mental therapy session after each work hours...
Gaming keyboard xD
I have no problem typing on the older keyboards but the new ones that have been made after the year 2000 are just crap and my fingers mash in between the keys it is a pain in A** problem but the key spacing on the old IBM Model M keyboard's is way superior to the modern ones !! they don't make em like they use too "ASIA LEARN HOW TO MAKE A GOOD KEYBOARD " XD
My Mom worked at the Peoria Begner's from 1966 - 1973 when we moved. She was the Department Manager of the Fabric Dept. My fondest memories were at Christmas time - riding the escalator down to the basement to see "SANTA" and then going out the back door to pet the real "Reindeer"! Sure wish my Mom was still alive to have seen this, she would've loved it! Thank you for posting it!!
Such a sweet memory thanks for sharing.
Where was this flight from? Crazy how you had to fly past the city out over the lake then back.
i have nothing to say [don't juge me'
lol fucking shi*
I just wanted to hear the spring load of the keyboard. Someone from "The Video Game Years 1981 Pt. 2" talked about how spring loaded it was and how amazing the sound was. The sound is pretty unique... :) Thank you!
the best keyboard old time
you got to love that old keyboard sound. :)
I want one of these. But they are so rare where i live :o Difficult finding one.
I hate model M keyboards. White alps are so much better and don't make the annoying sound as much. Typing on a model M feels like sticking my hands in hot acid. Its awful!
K. Meinzer Enjoy your INFERIOR TYPING EXPERIENCE.
K. Meinzer Trolls gonna troll.
Oh, god... the sound, the speed, the obvious speed and ease of typing! I miss propper keyboards.
I thought you couldn't use the Model F on a modern day PC any more, wasn't there something like that? Even if I'm wrong, the Model F has a different layout, I don't think you want to stick with that. That's why IBM came up with the Model M, to get the Keyboard right, people complained about the F's layout. Although the Model F has a greater fell to it, in my opinion.
I own and use a Model M (Mine's from 1988, 1391403) keyboard all the day, I love it and I am using it right now :) So I know where you are coming from. I typed on a F once and I remember it had a better feel to it, I'm looking forward to get myself a F, thanks for the explanation!
Thanks. I heard so much about the HHKB and I don't even know what's so special about it since I have never occupied myself with it, could you explain since you are owning and using one, does it have special switches?
Sounds Interesting, thanks, and YES they are expensive ^^ why? What other keyboard is using these switches? The story how I came to getting myself a Model M is actually kinda funny. I'm actually collecting a few typewriters, mainly mechanical machines. Once you typed on a typewriter, typing on any computer keyboard feels kinda unpleasing, so I switched to a Model M since they are pretty close to some electronic typewriters, ironically my favourite typewriter is a Erika Model M, what a coincidence xD by the way I'm not native English speaking too, I'm German.
These keyboard are extremely comfortable to type on so far as I can see it, what is the best keyboard using Topre switches in your opinion? Maybe I'm going to try it out, if I'm not convinced by it, I can still send if back, but I would like to use these switches once since they seem to be very popular.
Almost sounds like the drum intro from Hot for Teacher - Van Halen
How do hands talk: they type
めっちゃうるせぇw こんなキーボード使ってるヤツが隣にいたらぶっ飛ばしかねないw It is very noisy. if the next person use this keyboard, I will hit him...
Baka.
Yohei Hina Enjoy your INFERIOR TYPING EXPERIENCE.
I love that sound!
Now thats keyboard. None like it.
I got one of this model Ms and older model with silver logo on ebay recently. These keyboards will give you so COOL typing experiences and you will be unable to use other cheap keyboards.
Such a masterpiece! My sister had one when i was a kid!
I haven't used a buckling spring for over eight years. I'll be getting my first mechanical keyboard next month.
Someone liked my comment. This was typed on a Model M from 1993 with the Dvorak layout. I learned it on the Model M, and I've never thought about going back when it comes to the keyboard and the layout.
***** It's been quite some time. How is using DVORAK? How long did it take you to get used to it?
I WANT ONE!!!
Sounds like the beginning of Hot for Teacher.
It's probably not it... But I feel like that if you take away the usual typing on the letters and just focus on the space bar being pressed, it could be one of those old morse code telegrams people used to send each other during the war... I don't know, but it'd be pretty radical it that was the case. (Marble Hornets)/(ToTheArk)
you fool yourselves. there is NO ONE called to the ark. his/her name is the ark or ark. the youtube account called "totheark" ment for the ark TO SEE. in E#79 jay found a note that says "find alex. find the ark" THE ARK not To the ark.
This video is from 2 years ago, which is far too long for this to just be planning ahead, so no codes in it are intentional. The only meaning to be found here is the answer to "How do hands talk?" By typing.
Do you know your wpm score?
MarbleHornets brought me here
I wonder if the poster knew his video was going to be linked to in this way, or if he's sitting at home reading these comments and wondering just what the hell everyone is talking about.
I've thought the same thing. I suppose that he knew about it. Maybe he's friends with the creators?
I'm getting my 20 year old Model M back tomorrow from repair by Unicomp.
Here is what I have concluded: He never hits a number or the backspace. He is typing too fast to not mess up. Its morse code. He is also going to fast to make morse so it could be spaces are dashes and letters are dots in morse.
Could someone find out all the letters? maybe slow it down and its a message...
