Kufur is rejection, in context, it's rejection of the truth and the command of Allah. The word kufur seems to relate to "covering up" Interestingly cvr, kfr... sounds kinda close if you notice it. Also interestingly, Allah says that he may "kufur" our sins, to mean, forgive us and dismiss, reject, throw them away... So, the word does seem to relate more with rejection, more than "disbelief" The word disbelief or "do not believe" is also used in the Qur'an, so it's not a 1 to 1 with kufur... Of course, some may accuse us of kufur, Trinitarians may accuse us of "rejecting" the trinity... Does that mean we are rejectors? In the sense the Qur'an uses the word? Of course not! The same with other sects, even those who claim to be muslim, Sunni or Shia, Mu3tazzila, Sufi, i'm sure their theology or practice may have weak spots they made after the Qur'an was revealed and the messenger of Allah departed... thus if they call muslims names due to them abstaining from their innovations, then unless they prove it with the Scripture in hand, in sha Allah we are cool. People have this notion that the 2B people claiming to be muslims actually are becuase they belong to sect x... but the truth is, believers are few... How few? Allah knows best, but they are not he majority... As a general rule ofc. We also see the communities of the past, they claimed to believe but they were conflictive with their messengers... and when they were not around they did what they wanted and claimed the messenger had told them or similar things... Like when the children of Israel were worshiping the calf... because the Samari narrated to them that the messenger of Allah (Musa) had taken the calf as his god... that was the claim, they believed the Samari and though they were following the sunnah of Musa, but they were doing the total opposite actually... Jesus, the Son of God loves you, he wants you to accept him into your life, to believe in him as your savior and recieve eternal life with God. Don't deny his sacrifice for your sins, otherwise God will accept your wish to live away from his presence, after physical death, there will be your true and eternal death. People often quote the verses about "obeying those of command among you" but ignore the part when it tells us to refer to Allah and his messenger if we differ with them, however you interpret that, the point being that we can indeed, in fact perhaps should, speak out if our governments do wrong and we can see they do so from the deen starndpoint... And yeah, they always forget about the verses about "ahlul kitab" (people of the scripture, probably scholars) or deniers of old... or even mushriks... Shirk is not only about prostrating to an idol... it's way wider... some people do shirk by obeying their scholars or rabbis when they command them wrong stuff... as if they were Allah to make up rulings like some do... Basically, people never see themselves as bad, they deem themselves pure, which is something the Qur'an also warns us about... This is how people ignore the warnings and end up badly... if we do heed warning, then we reform, we turn to Allah and he is Forgiving, Merciful.
