JJ - Private Pilot Training #10 [S&Gs] KGEU
Jackie and I went down the road to KGUE Glendale, AZ for some early "Stop and Gos". We weren't able to do touch and go's because of the noise ordinance before 7AM.

JJ - Private Pilot Training #8 [ 2 - T&G's] Strange Winds

Hey all! Here is another touch and go lesson. We had some winds from all over. We only did three touch and go's before we decided to pack it up for the day. I am sorry for the shorter video. For some reason the GoPro said it recorded the whole flight, but there was no file for it when I finally plugged in the camera. That's how it goes sometimes

My first installment of Touch and Go's! Man, was this great. This really got me tuned up for landings in general. I felt pretty good before, but this made me much more confident. We met up at 4AM and got everything going just after 5AM - 5/8/14 Super quiet. We just focused on flying the plane this time. I felt that I would be able to do the radio, but we wanted pay full attention to the airplan...

Jackie and I went earlier than normal (7AM). We usually are up around 10AM/12PM. Such a nice flight. Learned a lot and was able to experiment with power a lot on this flight. Thoroughly enjoyed this flight. It was my first landing with getting battered around right as we were touching down.

This was a super fun flight. Reason being: I got to take my best friend, Spencer V., up with me on his first GA flight. We made this video a little shorter, because I was not as sharp as I usually am and it showed up with my operations within the longer part of the video. More on the way! Hey all! Here is my third lesson up at KDVT with Jackie Whitford. Had a great time, was going to do the radio, but decided on one more lesson for takeoff focus. Great day to fly and traffic was a little busier than I'm used to.

This video is quite old. I just wanted to have all my aviation videos on one channel. This is a re-upload from my vlog channel. I was training with Arizona Aviation, Ryan Olson as the CFI. I put the video through UA-cam's stabilization, which messed it up in the beginning.

I was taking lessons down in Mesa (KFFZ), but found Jackie after my former instructor went into commercial flying. I was on hiatus because I couldn't seem to find anyone else I liked. I've always wanted to earn my Private Certificate with a private instructor and not through an academy of sorts. This is in a Cessna 172 N Model - 1977 I believe. I will be getting intercom recording gear shortly,...

    So did you test the Sony recorder? I've heard that we should look for recorders with separate line and mic inputs cuz the mic one reportedly distorts the plane's audio. I ve never yet recorded audio inflight but if i do i ll use the passenger's seat inputs for the audio :D thanks for your vid!

    When Mr Aviation 101 bought this: Sony ICD-AX412 DVR, it cost a little less than $100. Sony no longer makes that recorder, unfortunately, it can be gotten if you search for it for over $200 now. WOW. David Clark headsets are simply the BEST, period. They'll last you a lifetime with care.

    Great video, I'm just training for my PPL and I've ordered the same headset. I really wanted some Zulu's but I decided to save my money and get the basics down first then treat myself. Do you know the equivalent recording items I'd need over here in the UK ? Regards Simon 2E0SNJ :-)

    • @JonnyGunsAviation
      @JonnyGunsAviation 10 років тому

      This is somewhat normal, as I went through the same thing when I first started. Main thing to do is look outside as much as possible - when you can, especially when it's bumpy. When you feel it coming on, just grab a little sip of water and then chew a piece of Trident Original mint gum. That's always set me straight. Over time your brain will get used to all the different situations while flying! Thank you for your comment!

    Hey, nice video! And great sound quality. This video totally led me to buying my own David Clark H10-13.4 hehe Also, let me tell ya, I wear Ray-Bans with polarized lenses when I'm out there flying and it really helps me when I'm looking out for traffic with that same kind of weather. Maybe it works for you too Have a good one

    • @JonnyGunsAviation
      @JonnyGunsAviation 10 років тому

      Hey Joao! Thank you so much for your comment. :) I definitely need to invest in some nice shades for the flying. I'll be honest, I feel like such a goof with sunglasses. I think it's just that I feel I don't look good in them, so I have never worn them for most of my life. I do agree with you though. Dude, I really enjoy the H10-13.4 Simple, but effective. I really like how the Mic boom is pliable - that is the main reason I bought this model. Mono with flexible mic boom. I'll report back when I actually stop spending my money on computer stuff :P Appreciate the suggestion! You have a good one, too!

    Hello Jon I am a amateur radio operator as well. Have you ever used an aviation headset on a portable operation to utilize the noise canceling function on the headset. If so what would be the power requirements for the headset?

    • @JonnyGunsAviation
      @JonnyGunsAviation 10 років тому

      Hello Christopher! That is a very interesting question. I would like to know myself. I am using a standard headset at the moment. I haven't had experience with an ANR headset. I would have to do some research before I could give you some valuable information. From what I've read, there's no voltage while the headset is quiet, but there's a 8-16VDC for the Mic itself. I'll see what I can find in the future. Thank you for your comment! :)

      Chris! Thank you for your comment. Believe it or not, but you were the one that recommended Jackie through your videos. If it wasn't for your videos, I probably wouldn't have found Jackie. I appreciate your videos and the unknown recommendation you provided, via your UA-cam channel. I was going to reach out and say hello on your channel quite a while ago, but I just subscribed and have been watching your videos. Pretty darn neat to have you comment on one of my videos after about a year after I found your channel. Thank you, sir! Will tell Jackie you said hello. I actually said to her that your videos made me aware of her instructor business. Take care, Chris! We'll catch up to you around the internets. Best regards, Jon
