havent finished watching the video yet but something i wouldve wished to see mentioned more in minecraft modding discussion are the yearly modfest events showcasing cool new or work in progress mods. i dont know much about it myself but i think its structured like gamejam competitions, trying to push for modders to develop new and experimental mods in a limited amount of time and submit them. theres always cool stuff coming out of them id also like to mention the "japanese" genre of mods that are often overlooked like heat and climate, applemilktea, littlemaidmob etc that often add things you dont see often in the western modding landscape or have unique takes on them like the highly detailed 3d foods in HaC and AMT compared to pam's harvestcraft/farmers delight and the seasons mechanic in HaC. pretty sure there was even a mod that allowed importing MMD models and play as highly detailed hatsune miku and such while looking extremely out of place, complete with animations. but there's also an unrelated mod called Figura that accomplishes the same thing but with low poly models so it's a lot better looking also, silent's gear and tetra aren't close at all to what tinker's construct ever aimed to be, tetra at least is so incredibly nerfed and overtuned to the point that the best tool you can make in it is WORSE than an efficiency 5 diamond pick from VANILLA despite taking way more effort to get there. i have never put much time into silent's but the way the mod is constructed definitely feels less customizable than tinker's

Both the original video, and this addition are great! I have a few more mods I'd like to mention. The first is the Archimedes Ships mod. It was a popular mod that added the ability to add fully moving boats, airships, and submarines(correct me on that if I'm wrong). The original mod hasn't been updated in a long time, and likely won't have a comeback, but it's still beloved by many, and people look for an equivalent of the mod. The second is a more personal one that I have bias towards, and that is Cracker's Wither Storm Mod, which brings the Wither Storm from Minecraft Story Mode into the game, and is the most popular version of the concept. The mod both is very accurate and loyal to how it is in the original game, and also takes creative liberties to add new mobs, items, recipes, and mechanics into the game.

One additional note aboit lycanites mobs: it also adds a really pretty interesting gear crafting mechanic from parts of various mobs and can make for some incredibly over powered weapons and tools

Speaking of lesser known mods that add a good amount of content id love to see you mention Enigmatic Legacy, edit: it also has a normally unobtainable hidden item that is locked behind some form of encryption, ive only heard vague references to it in the creators discord and there is basically no information about what it actually does or how to get it

"What is this and how do i get rid of it" i saw the thaumcraft 6 rifts for the first time and my only thought was "how bad of a rift can i make?" And thus began a 2 hour long process of me grossly over filling cauldrons with garbage to make flux, apparently the rifts were capped at a very tame 2 chunks of maximum effective range iirc

Oh god.. the gregoriust and mdiyo shit is the reason both of those mods fell off the way they did, it was a back and forth childish display of "fuck you" "well fuck you too" and ruined countless modpacks during the time

Ah, i remember my first time playing draconic evolution 😂 i vaguely remember setting up the first reactor with my friend and hearing the words "is the containment field supposed to be at 1%?" Approximately .3 seconds before the reactor, us and everything for like 50 chunks in all directions was reduced to atoms 😂

Another fun fact (yes im going to keep making these with every cool mod you mention, im not sorry 😈) with AE2 if you have too many filled drives in your inventory at once it will crash your game and corrupt your player data bc of how much NBT data the drives store

Another fun fact, WAILA was originally created as a utility mod for use with Tinkers Construct so you could tell if your tool was strong enough or not

A slight correction about the standardized forge energy system, there is actually a very polular storage and automation mod that does infact use a completely unique power type and has even uncluded a block whose sole purpose is to translate forge energy into the mods energy, that mod is Applied Energistics 2, their energy system is for some stupid reason completely disconnected from the energy standardization that we got with forge energy

1.12.2 is THE version for mods, its the last version many of the OG mods were ever ported to and is the furthest back most modern mods ever get ported, it exists in the "sweet spot" for mods and has the largest selection of high quality mods of any version

Thaumcraft is my all time favorite mod, i remember playing TC6 and having a spells addon that added the light spell type, i made a spell i called "The world ender" that essentially spawned a 16x16x16 block of intangible light blocks which were INCREDIBLY laggy when there were too many in one spot, such as a 16x16 cube of them. I crashed my game with that spell so many times 😂

Fun fact: most large servers have banned ALL client side mods and you will be instantly temp banned if you log into one with a mod loader client like forge/fabric. Just because you can doesnt mean you should, the more you know

Love seein me some RLCraft slander 😂 fun fact Shivaxi actually paid many creators to say good things about the pack and then lie about being paid to do so, many of them came forward and admitted to this a few months after the pack had blown up but Shivaxi got them to take down their videos admitting to this with threats of lawsuits, you may still be able to get a few of them to anonymously admit to this if you spoke with them privately and id definitely recommend looking into it if you felt like taking a deeper dive into the absolute shit fest of a mod pack that is RLCraft...

TerraFirmaGreg is not so bad. You just need to look at it as a realistic minecraft, but you have spatial magic (aka chests, storage, ect.). I enjoyed the early game progression a lot, especially the colored steels. (gotta hate on the kaolin clay tho. ) Can't tell if the MV age is going to be a problem, but LV is literally just Create automation, silly turbines and sizzling cables.

I think that one is a huge somewhat fringe modded MC community topic lol. also distinguishing technic (the originaly modpack) from technic classic (made later) is something I find that nobody even knows about. Technic (the modpack) predates tekkit. It was my favorite. I have an old version of the technic launcher hovering around somewhere...

I like how he implies RL Craft is infamous just for having Lycanites mobs, and not the fact that the modpack is crafted specifically to make you rip your nuts off.
