I'm not a main drummer, and this is also old, so I had a bad setup for recording drums, and I'm not great at the Drum Part for Help. I've gotten better at Drums Since, and I am not planning to play something like Help again. However, please refain from comments like this. Constructive Criticism is cool by me, but this is straight up offensive, so please refrain from this type of comment. Thanks.

They are Power Chords! Paul did that for a few songs. Another great example of Paul playing power chords on a bass is "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." There are a few other songs he plays power chords for that I'm unable to remember off the top of my head at the moment. Since Paul started as a Guitarist, you can hear some examples of him doing "Guitar-like" stuff on bass, like power chords, or at the end of "With a Little Help from My Friends," that last E note is like a Chord on bass with an open E, 7th fret on A, and 9th fret on D and G. Still a Power Chord by definition, but he plays all 4 strings.

Yes, but that's not what I'm out here to do. It is a COVER. Not a "recreation," or "tutorial." Yes, it is as a McCartney Impersonator, but I am only doing a cover. If you want to learn the actual bass line, there are videos for that. I am just here to have fun and play the bass line for people to watch, and maybe discover something new about the line.

Yup! It's not a super difficult bass line to learn, but it's still REALLY fun to play, and SUPER recognizable, which is what makes it so effective!

If I had the money, I would. Unfortunately, I am poor, and can't buy a Rick Bass. Especially the 4001. Those are running around $3000-$5000 online. I'd probably shoot for a 4003s if I had the money, as that is a lot more affordable. If I was actually making money off of my music, and decent money at that, I would be able to buy the gear I want/need. If you wanna help out by Subscribing and telling your friends, and having them tell their friends, maybe that can happen sooner. 😉😏🤣

Well, I learned the bass line YEARS ago, and then only a few years back, I learned there was a mistake, and then I learned how exactly to play the mistake from a video just a bit before recording. Lol I CAN learn some lines by ear. I was definitely better at that when I was younger, but I can still learn some simpler bass lines by ear. One of the more difficult ones I recently learned by ear is "She's so High" by Blur, actually. I also learned the bassline to "Warning" by Green Day, and "My Sharona" by The Knack by ear as well. Including the fun slide up and hammer-on riff in My Sharona. So I do figure some basslines out by ear, but typically it's either simple basslines, or I learn a basic premise of the line, and then look up the rest from there. I know this was a long reply, but I have a tendency to explain things in more detail than I usually need to. Comes with the 'tism I tell ya. XD

@@ZachtheMusicGuy, I very much appreciate the long reply. Still trying to figure out the Bass and its been decades. Paul created great bass lines. I did check out Something that you covered and subscribed to you. I was at an outdoor cover band concert. Check out the tabs for “Footloose.” I asked the guy how he learned it and he just said he can hear it which that one is close to impossible for me. You are very talented if you can pick just hear Pauls lines and figure it out. Nathan East did the Bass on that Footloose. Very talented bassist.

For sure! That's about what I do for most Bass Lines at this point. I hear the line, and kinda figure out most of the notes at least, and then either improvise or look up the rest from there!

So, the Shea Jacket is off of Beatwear. However, Beatwear doesn't do Jakets or Trousers anymore, and only does Boots. It also is too big for what it's supposed to be, and I need to either get it hemmed, or sell it and get a new one. The Sullivan Jacket, on the other hand, is off of BeatlesStyle, and I will admit, I kinda like them more, as they do custom measurements, and also will put the name of whichever Beatle you are playing for Tribute Bands and such, so you and your band members can distinct whose is whose. Mine also came with a free Knit Tie, and I believe their Shea Jackets come with a free Wells Fargo Badge. My Current Trousers are just a Pair that I've had, as I could NOT afford the Jacket AND Trousers with my Sulivan Suit. Both Sites are EXPENSIVE, and I guess it kinda makes sense since they are replicas of Beatles Outfits, as well as BeatlesStyle being Custom Fitted, but if you're wanting to get an accurate Jacket, be prepared to spend around $300-$500 depending on the Suit, Included Trousers, Shirts, and Accessories. I think the Beatwear Boots are even in the $200 mark. I also suggest just getting a Vest for Cavern off of Amazon or At a Local Store, as you're not really going to get any more accurate than that. I don't even think BeatlesStyle does the Cavern Vest (They did add the Please Please Me Suit a few years back, however!). Also IF you do get wigs, find somewhere local to get a custom one, as BeatlesStyle doesn't even make them anymore, as well as they couldn't get as accurate of head measurements when they did. They are both UK Based, but Ship to most countries worldwide. The only other warning I have is I've heard BeatlesStyle Sgt. Pepper Suits are not very good, so I would suggest looking elsewhere for that. Hope that Helps! :)

The Ignitions now I believe are about $400 USD before tax, but I honestly don't like the Ignition, as I've had 5 of them, and they all had issues in one way or another, so I decided to upgrade to the Contemporary (the one in this video), and it cost around $850 USD before tax (And a protection plan that added up to about $1,028-ish), but MAN was the upgrade worth it.

It's the Höfner Contemporary Series Violin Bass. The Ignitions have never been the best for me, and the Full Blown German ones are way to expensive, so this is a good middle ground. Lol

It took me WAY too long to realize that "Renfoh" is Hofner Backwards. XD Yeah... Video is Mirrored. I'm not actually Left-Handed.. YET. I've been working on teaching myself, and have made decent progress recently. Just need to get an ACUTAL Left-Handed Bass at this point... you know... when I have money. Lol
