So be a part of the remaining 30% who knows how to do this. So come on! Watch, learn and impress your senior officers by showing them that you know how to use your diagrams properly. Welcome to episode 2 of our Diagram Series.

    Hello sir. Ask lang po bakit po ba sinasama yung Specific Gravity sa computation kung meron naman Volumr Correction Factor? Base sa understanding ko po, ang Volume Correction Factor ay ang corrected specific Gravity at a given temperature. SA pag kuha ng Volume correction factor pinagbabasehan ang SG ng fuel at 15 degrees celcius bale icoconvert dun yung SG ng fuel based on the observed temperature.

    When the oil need pre-heating and don't need pre-heating? Is the pre-heating different than separating temperature?

    • @tropangmakinista7697
      @tropangmakinista7697 Рік тому

      Thanks for bringing it up. Heavy Fuel oils (HFO) needed pre heating for a much efficient separation. Pre heating is done at the Settling tank while separation temp happens at the fuel oil heater before the oil goes in the fuel purifier. Diesel oils are examples of oil that does not need preheating because they are already low viscosity. I hope I answered your question. Keep safe!

    • @tropangmakinista7697
      @tropangmakinista7697 Рік тому

      If papanoorin mo ulit amg video dun sa part ng Alfa Laval, may 2 scenario tayo. Ang isa may preheating ang isa wala. Kaya kung papansinin natin, iba ang naging guhit nila. Kung ang ibig mong sabihin sa heating temperature ay yung temperature bago pumasok ang oil sa purifier, sa Alfa Laval na nomogram, ang tawag dun ay separating temperature. Naway nasagot ko ang iyong katanungan. Keep safe!

    Given : Observed Temperature 25.5 Degree Celsius, Observed Density is 0.729 and Corresponding Density in 15 Degree Celsius is 0.7375. How is done it's VCF result is 0.00112 ? Please given me it's formula.

    • @tropangmakinista7697
      @tropangmakinista7697 2 роки тому

      Hi! Thanks for your comment and as far as I could help, this is my answer to your question. As based on the video I posted, the formula for VCF presented here is for approximation and must only be used if no available ASTM Table 54B. As you saw from the video, the supposed formula is 1 - [ (Observed temp - 15) x 0.000645 ] But since the density in concern is very low (lower than 0.85), the formula may be changed in to Density at 15 deg C - [ (Observed temp - 15) x 0.0007 ] So, using your given data, 0.7375 - [ (25.5 - 10) x 0.0007 ] 0.7375 - [ 10.5 x 0.0007 ] 0.7375 - 0.00735 Density at 25.5 deg C = 0.73015 So, the VCF used is 0.7375 - 0.73015 = 0.00735 VCF = 0.00735 I know there is a difference of 0.73015 - 0.729 = 0.00115 Which is very very small and can be considered as accurate enough. I hope this helps. 😇 keep safe!

    • @tropangmakinista7697
      @tropangmakinista7697 3 роки тому

      Normally, based on FO and RPM ang basehan ng pagcocompute ng consumption. Kasi ang pag compute ng konsumo ay base sa engine load ng barko. Ang distance travelled ay nakabase sa ship speed. At ang ship's speed ay nakabase sa RPM ng barko. Ang load ay nacocompute gamit ang RPM. Load = (Set RPM / RPM at MCR)^3 x MCR output Sa madaling salita, base sa tanong mo, ang pagcocompute ng consumption ay nakabase parin sa RPM.
