7:59 can't this delay be configurable on a per-user basis? if you're living in a high populated city and have access to the internet pretty much every hour of the day, or if you're going on a trip to the middle of some obscure jungle on Alpha de Centaurus, you definitely don't want that timeout to be the same. As I see it, it would need to be pushed to the peers as a preference and then added to each message so the swarm knows when to get rid of this data ; a client could of course override this expiration timestamp but in some cases it could be desirable.

There is an opening for adoption by people who don't bother about privacy, (so the people that do can message them securely) now Signal is dropping SMS support, produce a (simple) combined SMS and Session (text) App so that session users can get their friends and family to replace their SMS app, which removes the yet another message problem. (And if it were literally text only, then it might also be a way for those in the UK to have legal secure text messages, if the new law is specifically to target a certain type of image or video.)

I really like session, however there is one thing I don't like. and that it that they don't consider the use of the Apple and Google push services as metadata. The push carriers know the identity and location of Session users and the times they receive messages. The push services are certainly of benefit to regular users who just want to send texts to their friends, but they should be able to be disabled by the sender (as opposed to just the recipient), because correlations can be made.

Hey mate have you guys developed a solution to the issue of the final server node storing 2 weeks of messages even if set to delete off the device? Reinstating them when using the recovery phrase was a terrible feature intentional or not

What about adding file sharing bigger then 300 gigs? Cuz right now it's 10 megabytes that's small like email size.. AND KEEP UP THE good work. So far I love session.

Any way you guys can fix the size of attachment size like 300 gb like Anonymous messenger has cuz 10 megabytes is too small cuz some may want to send big files cuz some like me a PC repair I send big files to a friend that repairs PCs like me and files are 20 gb some are 50 gb. Can you fixed it to send files that big like Anonymous messenger has they do it but that messager don't work as good as session dose and I can't see if my friend is online.

How secure is session really? Am hearing Australian law requires all tech knowledgy to have back doors for government to moniter criminal activity and that is where session is headquartered… any counter-claim to this?
