WTF is it called ? Spit it out!!! 👎
Great suggestion MOD. Just purchased a 2018 Silverado 1500 V8 4x4 and will add this PPE to my transmission. Have you done the Oil separator/ catch can kit?
Thanks for doing the vid, been starting my vride with a screwdriver for the last 2 weeks, now I know how to put in this new starter, haha. Btw, you summed it all up when you said don't get into the lawncare business, why didn't you tell me this 17 years ago!?
Those prices make literally no sense
Is this the reason the 8l90 trans are going out?
I just added an additional Mishimoto transmission cooler as well as installing the Superior Solutions bypass kit to my 2016 Silverado LT. In daily driving the temperature has been running below 120 degrees F. It will be interesting to see what the temperature is when I tow my 8400 lb travel trailer next summer. Even with the updated GM thermostat my temperature was running 180 degrees while towing.
Got a pinch a Hagen
5000 installed
The problem is owning those machines and getting those accounts. You guys don’t know nothing because it’s not easy unless you have money to invest and that a lot of common people don’t have unless you’re a colonizer. Those prices are not competitive for common people since they can barely afford a 21” inch walk behind commercial lawnmower thus making it a lot longer and harder to mow those lawns. Greedy cheap people want their lawns mowed for less which won’t make sense with small equipment because there won’t be a good profit.
Depreciation on equipment and transport, finance charges if any.
No way im pricing a corner lot lower than a regular lot
That was some serious mileage on the truck without changing the fluid but for the transmission to completely blow is insane anyway
Is this issue happening to ford trucks too model 2013 6 speed
Im at 70 dollars for each yard. Just my market. If you can make money at 40, good on you, brother.
You’re definitely giving them a great price. Loving the quality of your work man. Slowly raise those prices each year though for sure. 👍🏾
Thanks for the info 😊
High school ass prices
I got a GMC sierra SLT 2018 my transmission temperature stays around 180 got a 98,000 miles on it but when I do get on the freeway and start to catch speed. I notice if I push it too hard I’ll get a flutter.?
The high temperatures does cause problems along with the inferior material the converter is constructed from I changed my converter to a billet one along with the cooler upgrade
How has that been holding up for you boss? I’ve been wanting to do the same thing for my Silverado.
mine went at 110,000.
Prior to your transmission blowing up, what were the signs? Other than shifting hard. Did you have coolant leak prior???
9/24/24. I have a 2017 Silverado 1500 and it has banged down shifting from 2nd to 1st since 50,000.. Took it to a dealer and was told it is normal for this trans. It continued for many thousand miles. Took it to a different dealer and told this has been a problem and it is the valve body, changed that and now at 80,000 back at that dealer and trans pan dropped and fluid is burnt and metal filings found. Told to rebuild over $5,000.00, with Chevy 1 yr warentee or new trans $7,000.00, what would you do.
My 2017 went out last year at 68k. Took the new trans. due to parts shortage. I got a 3 year, 100k mile warranty.
Smartier not harder.
Listen thank you from Jorge Garcia Dallas Texas
A MUST DO upgrade to a Silverado. My 21 had 4 miles on it when purchased and started paying attention to trans temps after watching simular videos and didn't like what I saw. Immediately installed the Superior kit and temps reduced dramatically. We pulled a 6x12 inclosed U-hall from NC to Daytona with two motorcycles in upper 80 degree weather at 65-70 mph and trans ran 130-150. Big difference!
Which transmission do you have and how many miles? I have 8l90 and the transmission is shuddering. Fluid is already turning brown again and the dealership didn't tell me.
Man you need to raise your prices. All the wear and tear on your equipment for so little money😢
Great Video Thank you. Will this work on the 8L90 Transmission? " 8 speed" 2017 Silverado..
Talk about a $20 guy 😆 killing the industry… Inflation is going up and your driving this industry down 🤦🏽♂️
Coconut water
Does the oil change indication go away on its own?
Are they all weekly or biweekly
Bro barbers charge more then your weak prices and you’re actually cutting something on equipment that actually cost something. Raise your prices or are you desperate ?
The 5.3 is know for dropping lifters and it's not a cheap fix ..They say it's not if, it's when they go.. You can order a chip you simply plug into you obdll to keep it in the v8 mode and keep it out of the v4 mode ..The problem lies in the vlom below the intake... To replace a lifter you need to tear the top of engine down to just the block ..With them engines you just can't remove the intake to replace lifters ..You need to also remove the vlom and heads ..Then if your lucky the cam is not destroyed.. The chip can be bought on Amazon for $200-$250...
Who works Saturday
Folks who got bills to pay for
I can’t believe your transmission builder didn’t do this when he rebuilt it… Shop I took my last truck to, and my buddy took his 2015 to for rebuild won’t rebuild a 6L80e without doing a thermostat delete and a billet torque converter. I’m at 157k miles on the 6L80e in my 2012, BUT I do have aftermarket trans tuning and I do change the fluid regularly-ish.
I did not have it rebuilt, I swapped the transmission myself for a remanufactured unit and then did the thermal bypass after
@@StrongTurf ahh that makes sense
Just happened to me. 176k
If it don’t happen sooner it will happen later
Over pay use a push more that working
Damn you’re the guy under cutting everyone else. Those are minimum 50 dollar lawns and up.
great video ,thanks . did gm solve there transmission problems ,if so what year ? thks
Transmission issues are still present on the 2019+ models. GM has released an updated transmission thermostat that you can pick up at a dealer. But they never issued any recalls
You are so cheap
$100 an hour is kind of misleading. You’re at $50 an hour per person. Even after expenses and mower depreciation you’re still in the $30’s an hour which is a great job. But that’s probably why people give lawn guys trouble, there are services like gutter cleaning, junk removal and power washing where you can actually make over $100 an hour by yourself. Hopefully you’re incorporating higher ticket item services like gutter cleaning to boost that bottom line.
i heard alot of "we" so you not pocketing everything
Nah, Dude, you're absolutely right about those crazy High Temps. I strongly recommend you consider wrapping your Exhaust pipe that's traveling Directly under your TranPan with some Titanium Twill Weave Exhaust Shield Wrap (2"X50ft) That Pipe is just WAY Too Damn Close and it's literally Cooking that Transmission Oil!
Wrapping the exhaust that crosses under the trans pan is excessive and unneeded, and pretty ineffective at reducing the fluid temp. If you want to reduce the temps the best way is an aftermarket trans cooler. I have a 2012 with the same 6 speed transmission but GM didn’t put a crappy thermostat on them and even towing my boat down the highway on 90°+ days my trans temp stays below 170° and might climb to 187° in stop and go traffic in the city.
@chevyon37s Actually, by wrapping my Exhaust, it reduced my Temps by 15 degrees. "Uneeded" ... maybe "Ineffective"... Most certainly NOT. I agree, however, on the Thermostat issue. A 160° Thermo wouldn't allow for proper Running Temps ... therefore, you would never achieve the Running Temperatures required to get the vehicle to operate as actually intended. But a 180° Thermostat WOULD DEFINETLY be an Optimal Choice to help keep those insane Temperatures DOWN and still maintain Proper operating functionality within the vehicle. But, Dude... Don't Knock it until you, at least, TRY it. That Titanium Twill Weave was Just What the Doctor Ordered! Fifteen Degrees is still FIFTEEN DEGREES.... No matter which way you wanna try and slice it, Turkey.
Think about a 95 and you're making 18 and 20 - the gas for that and see how much you make
Where did you buy your transmission mission at that you put in your truck and about how much did it cost?
Autozone about $3500 but add on another $1000 for the core charge. I believe I paid the $4500 up front and then they gave me $1000 back when I gave them the old transmission
For those that don't know the transmission fluid should be changed every 60K with DEXRON VI in the 6L80E. GM has addressed this issue with a technical service bulletin: TSB GM # 21-NA-199. It was issued in 2021 to fix this issue. The new TBV operates at 158F. Check the static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10207911-9999.pdf
$40 bucks shit 85
Bought a used 2016 5.3 with 70k miles. At 90k miles my tranny started to shutter after a long distance drive in hot weather one day. Swapped out atf fluid and filter along with this mod and haven’t had any issues since now I’m at 105k miles a lot of towing my boat
Oh yeah the famous Chevy Shudder. A friend of mine is dealing with the same right now on a 2017 Silverado
@@StrongTurfremove transmission pan and change filter. Install superior transmission cooler valve. Replace fluid with mobile one lv synthetic transmission fluid. It's the blue lable fluid. You should drain out around five and a half quarts, when removing pan. I changed mine twice before dropping pan and changing filter. Runs around 147 degrees, and no more shutter. Resetting the transmission is a must. I used Vident scan tool for resetting transmission. All the new 6,8,10 speed transmissions from all manufacturers have the shudders.
I change that thermostat in a 2018 Sierra 5.3 the temperature in the 180s now that I changed it it runs about 158 glad I changed it
This only works for the 5.3! NOT the 4.3!!
Really.
@@SerafinN26I installed this 2 weeks ago and I still get up to 196! I’ll be installing a separate trans cooler for sure!
