Can you paint over POR with a coat of color.

So do you not recommend mixing the cleaner degrease with hot water like the bottle says?

Would brake cleaner from a parts store work also then spray that on it, reason why i ask is because the parts store brake cleaner is under pressure and if not can i use a paint spray gun? Something to remove the dirt

Indeed, if the prep work is done correctly (needle-scaler on thick rust/undercoat, drill w/wire brush, degrease, Metal Prep, two coats of POR-15) you'll always have great results.

Could I skim the 108B over my butt weld seams on my body work to help seal out any porosities in the welds and then put body filler over that? thanks

its a difficult product to use, you really have to follow those steps. When you do it does work great though.

What's the chances of UPOL making a DIYer size? Blowing $52+ on a one time use is brutal for a small patch repair, like this video demo'd, and is what most DIYer's have to repair - the 21oz (600ml) can is a bit much.

It's hard to take you seriously when the pipe isn't rusty.

I accidently drank a couple ounces of this stuff and thinking I was going to die.....it cured my stomach ulcer!

In my experience, POR loves rough surfaces and will come off in sheets from smooth ones, even with the proper prep. Sandblasted metal is IDEAL.

I call bull shit, blasted parts, cleaned with brake clean on 80 deg. day. used clear rust came back in 6 mouths in spider vanes and keeps moving. parts never got wet. sitting a box in my shop.

They work great for something no need to follow procedure. I think the amount of force on each rivet will not consistent.

I want to use Por15 to treat the rusty inside of my tractor gas tank. The only way to treat the inside surface is to pour the products through the opening. Means that its not possible to apply the two thin coats as recommended. Will this be a problem in terms of rust protection? Thanks.

Not really. For years I would scrape off loose rust, wash and let dry. The 2 coats of rust converter. Next day 2 coats of por15. If exposed to sunlight I would next day add 2 coats of Rustoleum. Worked very well. Every year or two I would wash and let dry then add 2 more coats of por15. Next day 2 coats of Rustoleum on anything exposed to sunlight. I did that for about a dozen years. Never had any peeling and rarely any spots starting to rust again. Now I just Fluid Film everything. It's quicker and works very well. Anything exposed, like a bumper, gets Fluid Film reapplied every 4-6 months.

I used just the POR-15 on my VW pan back in 2010. Didn’t do any prep work. Still looks amazing.

It works great if you follow The manufacturer directions first time I used it it worked perfect still looking good after five years

I’ve had a lot of problems with it bubbling up. I make sure to brush very thin coats but under some conditions it will still bubble up

Great glove to use if latex and nitrile gloves are being rationed.

Go to a JUNKYARD and get a PROPER rusty sample. That clean pipe proves NOTHING!
