Jeep VS Pinzgauer - Poison Spider
Our last day in Moab! We decided to hit up Poison Spider. This is a really fun out and back trail with lots of moderate obsticles. I ended up a little sideways and damaged my right rear corner (again).

Top Of the World - What Does It Take to Roll A Pinzgauer?!!
Переглядів 2,2 тис.7 місяців тому
We tackle Top of the World trail in Moab Utah. We push the Pinzgauer to it's limits and find how much more capable of a machine it is than we ever would have imagined! This trail was crazy rough, meaning it was mostly slow and rocky the whole way to the top with a few fun obsticles here and there. The name is very fitting for the view you get when you get to the top!
Moab - Hells Revenge - Does the Pinzgauer Do Hell's Gate?

The second day in Moab we went to Hell's Revenge. It was Jared and my second time in Moab and we were ready to tackle Hell's Gate, but could we convince Gary in his Pinzgauer?
Moab - Fins and Things, Who Does it Better, Jeeps vs Pinzgauer!
Переглядів 16 тис.8 місяців тому
We finally got our trip out to Moab and decided to warm up on Fins and Things trail since it is a moderate rated trail. It did not disappoint, and I will warn you the obstacles are much bigger in person, the GoPro really flattens out some of the climbs and descents. We got a great feeling at how capable the Pinzgauer really is and it did not disappoint. I got to ride along inside the Pinzgauer ...
Car Wash Falls and Little Cow Creek Area

We went to Car Wash Falls after a huge rain storm and the falls did not disappoint! We attempted to cross Hurricane Creek but decided against it because the water was too high and turned around and went to the Little Cow Creek area. We found some amazing falls on a gorgeous day!
Can the Land Rover Keep Up??!!

We spent two separate days out in the Ozark National Forest, one a very rainy day and the other a cold icy day. My nephew bought a 2007 Land Rover and took it out with us to see what it could do. The Land Rover is very capable and a good off-roader for the forest!
Alum Cove Natural Bridge

We visited Alum Cove Natural Bridge on one of our off-roading adventures. I can't believe we've never been there before! Such a spectacular view of some natural bridges, and not small either! The foggy misty day was the perfect setting for this little hike.

We visited Frog Bayou Falls this time in the fall. The colors were perfect and with all the rain the day before the creeks were running well!
Rush Springs Ranch, Pineville, MO

We visit Rush Springs Ranch off-road park and conquer some difficult trails! It's a great place place with lots of trails, although navigating the map is a bit difficult and not a lot of signage so we were wondering what trails we were hitting at the time.
Did We Ruin the Pinzgauer?!! - Wilderness Rider Buffalo Ranch

We visit the Wilderness Rider Buffalo Ranch again and had a great time! We try out some new trails, attempt a massive mud hole, and have to figure out what went wrong with the Pinzgauer.

First Time Stuck in the Mud in the Ozark National Forest!
Had me on pinz and needles. What a rig.
dafür gebaut der pinzgauer, gas und durch
I think the oilpan can be protected by a metal skid, maybe a rock hit...
Nice in the Mud "make a street " with drive fourth and back as possibel.
Not the safest line for the Pinzi but incredibel driver reaction!
Driving a air cooled Pinzgauer is a scary job but there pretty cappabel offroad. There also 4x4 Pinzgauers and driving this offroad is a lot more scary because there dont flex well like the 6x6 in the rear does. This driver on the Pinzgauer is very experienced, Independant suspension is not so easy too handel!
Pinzis are build too drive with a bit more "momentum" because there not having super low crawling gears.Sitting over your front wheels and steep downhilling is a scary job! Ha ha! And the carbureted air cooled four banger drives you crazy without ear plugs!
75% driver...
Sorry....I owned a Pinz for more than 10 years and it would laugh at that little hill, mine was 4x4.......Driver needs more training. Is that bad?..if you don,t know you should not be driving.
Only a Jeep driver would have that dog.
50 year old car from austria - no customparts needet.
It's awesome ❤
Love how Americans always do comparisons between highly modified Jeeps with bog standard (Pinzgauer in this case) vehicles.
Nooo stop showing off pinzgauers, they're pricey enough! Let people keep wasting their $ on Stellantis vehicles.
The Pinzgauer is easily defeated by inexperienced drivers.
All that noise, my diesel does it so much quieter.
These are a SUPERB bit of kit and my choice 👍👍👍
Super video! I am proud of the Pinzgauer - built in my home town. Greetings from Austria
Love how these comparisons never use a stock model sport jeep for comparison.😂
Be sure to get all that mud out from underneath, especially from the support bars that hold up the wheel well floors. That is where I rusted through first.
The Pinzgauer is Original no ohter Springs,no big Wheels an the Engine is 2,5 L 4 Zyl Petrol and 87 Horsepower
i want to talk with the dude who owns the pins, PLEASE!!!!
I had a 4x4 Pinzgauer in 1999-2000 and it was amazing. Stock it could do most things a modified jeep could. Very Loud and no heat. Very fun ride, I miss it.
Nothing short of awesome
Hey Do you stil have your pinz?
Consistently amazed at what the Pinzgauer can do even stock. IMO one of the most capable offroaders ever built. Just a shame most of the ones imported into America are basket cases, it's so hard to find a good one.
Still has the original Swiss license plate ... 😊
no, it´s just a replica...
Ah.. it did not look like you had the Pinz in All wheel?....the levers are all forward...in that one interior shot.
😎
I got to get me a pinzgaure! Of its the last thing i do!
Put some real tires on that thing
It's not a equal comparison with jeeps running 40 inch tyres pinzs on 33 at most .
Whew, 15:25 was way too close!
Hehe… I was lucky enough to drive these for decades during my years of service. In fact, they are quite capable, especially in tight spaces like forests, narrow tracks, or ravines. Personally I prefer the 4x4 version.
I'll take a Pinz over a jeep any day of the week. Cheaper, out performs way better, won't brake an axel, and we don't put gay ducks on our window.
lads, apologies for my blunt statements, but I need to tell you from years of riding a 712: * keep your hands INSIDE the truck * when offroading, air down to 1,5 bar, whatever PSI that may be * the clutch is only to be used when shifting gears; keep your left foot on the footrest * there are hooks on the rear bumpers for the mudflaps * no need for rear lockers always active * in the mud air down is MANDATORY * when you want to cool down a Pinz, let it idle * and my personal favourite is: keep the ignition distributor; maybe install a Pertronix, the Pinz was designed without electronics ... Thanks for all the efforts you put into making that video ! Cheers from Austria, Albert
Thanks for the great video. I have a 712 ambulance camper, and like to see how they do on different terrain. Mine is a but more top heavy, but you give me a good idea f how it will perform.
Great Pinzgauer driving skills - well done! Own myself a 712K - about to be electrified. Keep posting those great videos about a great off-road vehicle. Never forget: this was developed 50 years ago and still keeps up more than adequately :-)
Careful... electric pinz projects seem to quietly disappear and are never heard from again. Don't ruin it.
I always thought an electrin Pinzgauer (or offroad machine in general) would be great. Better controllability and lots of range at low speed, in addition to regen braking would be amazing at offroading. Can I ask you where you're from?
@@ErikDJ123 yes, because many - including myself - underestimate the complexity to make it truly functional and safe - the team around Hannes Reinisch @projectecarus are on the right path 🤙😊
@@maxiferrari08 @projectecarus has a very good prototype running - the goal is not to merely electrify a Pinzgauer, the goal is to make the Pinzgauer a better Pinzgauer (and that is hard already) - what does better mean? Much more power, much more silent, zero emissions ❤️😊
There is also the Pinzgau 4 x 4 that would be interesting. Or you have to find a Jeep with a third axle. But maybe it's fair because the Jeep has bigger tires and more articulation. 😂 Anyway, cool video!
I own a Jeep ZJ and a JLU. But for many years I have wanted a Pinzgauer or similar Volvo military vehicle.
A Volvo C303 would be fun too :)
Oh yeah! NEED MOAR PINZGAUER!! That V-Notch scene at 8:00 was EPIC! I can definitely tell the guy driving the Pinz was MUCH more comfortable and confident than he was in the past. Really awesome video and great driving!
Thanks!
the pinz is build to drive fast through the nature, if you drive him slowly ,he can´t give his best.
This is so true. If I go too slow, my 710k gets tippy. Fast, it never has time to get tippy.
Very cool. What PSI was the Pinzgauer running? Seems like it would have benifited from some more grippy tires.
I think he was running about 20 PSI. Anymore and he'd burp air out of them, not very good wheels for going very low. He had burped lots of air out of a tire later in the week so that was about as low as he was comfortable with.
I run Staun Bead Locks on my 712.... You can run the Simex Pedes/Land Dragons at 8 psi and the grip is amazing.
Enjoyed your video. Fins and Things is one of my favorite places.
Thank you!
Interesting how many famous things come from our puny country - Pinzgauer, Glock, STG 77 .... even the Terminator.
Nice to know your video. great!!! My channel also has a journey similar to yours
Thinking of the view from inside the Pinz on your previous uploads, that woopsie must have been very exciting 🙏. I hope the Pinz is OK, although it did appear that Moab came off second best! What a beast.
Luckily it was ok! It made my heart stop for a few seconds for sure!
@@bikesnjeeps a Pinzgauer to me is more like a sailboat than a yacht. capsizing is no problem, just get it back up on it's wheels in due time
Wow, those blue skies. Another fantastic video, thanks.
If you are rolling too fast backwards with 1. Forward Gear, the rpms of the Clutch Plate could get too high and the cluth linings can "explode".
Great to know! Luckily he didn't have any issues the rest of the week and still drives great.
