CRAIG’S HUT - Victorian High Country - 530KM DAY TRIP!
Remember riding with a few guys on early 04 models long ago We road a 250 km day - through lots of slow to medium pace tracks . What struck me with their bikes , was how much juice they used. I thought fourstrokes were supposed to be economical?? My exc250 KTM two stroke used a lot less on the day ; while riding alongside them Surprised me lots
Yeah mate i 100% agree ! I eventually went with a IMS long range tank to combat the fuel consumption. Didn’t fix the problem just prolonged it haha
v informative thanks
Thanks for watching :)
Doesn't the Isuzu come with a trip computer? My 2013 Base model BT50 has one😅😅😅
Love my D-Max
My dmax gets 13.5/100 with a full size 19.6 van and boat on top
Not too bad at all 👌
What a distinguished gentleman that lizard
I thought so too !
Great stuff, keep em coming 😊
appreciate a tall rider reviewing bikes!
Thanks for watching mate 👌
Great video 🤙🍻
Thanks for watching 🍻
Great set up. Thanks for sharing.
Heading up from The Rocks to Southend is a nice trip. If you stick to the main track. You boys took the hard way. Well done for making it. That beach has taken a number of rigs. One of them still rests at one of the beach entries. Only the old Discovery’s axles are still visible as the rest of the bus is burrowed under the sand.
My favourite comment this week !! Thanks for watching 👌 we honestly had no idea that it was the harder way to go until we chatted to a 4x4 tour guide later in the trip who refuses to take people out there. Didn’t see that old wrecked beast but may have to go back now for a look ;)
it wouldnt tow anything bigger than a camper safely as its underpowered
Interesting statement. Definitely not the case but thanks for watching :)
No it's not.
❤❤❤🔥🔥
Hey guys. How do these swans go in the middle of summer with no aircon?
We generally spend the hottest part of the day out and about or swimming etc but when we are in the van it’s all good with the windows open letting the cooler afternoon breeze through. We never felt it’s been too hot :)
👍🏼👏🏼
Really nice set-up mate love it , you’ve done a great job !
Thanks very much mate 🍻 and thanks for watching :)
You spend that kind of money on any 4x4 Ute, it will be a grate tourer 👍👍👍
Love 4:56 🤣🤣. That's pretty much me all day trout fishing in the high country.🤣
Hahaha it’s a love hate relationship with it all 🤣🤣 I’m glad I’m not the only one mate haha
Great video mate and awesome bike. I've got a 2012 and it's great. 50-60ks per tank sounds pretty poor. Mine does far more than that on the stock tank. Also why is there no oil on your air filter?
Thanks mate. I appreciate the feedback 👌 I’ve head that from a few people with the same bike and not really sure what the go is to be honest. Not a big deal though. And definitely is oil on it mate just hard to see. It’s a blue colour and just hard to see on camera
@@AllAussieOutdoors Nice one. Can be the tune you're running as well. I think I've got a bush tune on mine so gives it a bit more low down. Phew looked like there was no oil on it 😂
Great set up, thank you. What do you do for water? Drinking, washing dishes etc? Do you bring it with you?
Thanks for watching :) in the back of my Hilux I had a 60L water tank that ran through an electric pump that sorted all of our water needs :)
@@AllAussieOutdoors awesome. Thank you
Good content!😊😊😊
Thank you :) I appreciate the feedback 🍻
Pretty sketchy, even with heaps of experience you can get caught out.
Absolutely mate. The sand was insanely soft. Mix that with an incoming tide and it’s all bad !!
What tracks did you take
Can’t remember off the top of my head but can certainly find out for you :)
Boring as he'll.
Spelling on point lad 🤣
Hi where did you get your hanging small light that is bright for outside ?
That bad boy is from BCF :)
Push the banks a bit more.
Amazing! What camper and tent is that?
It’s a Mars Surveyor camper trailer :)
Nice job on Part 1 and Part 2. I'd recommend getting the old fashioned paper maps from Rooftop maps for your next trip and then download an offline copy of Google Maps to plot where you are. From Fry's Hut, you could have gone up Brocks Rd and then hit Upper Jamieson hut, then around to Bluff Hut and Lovick's Hut and then down Sixteen Mile Jeep Track to Pike's hut (LOL.. that's not a hut !) Bindaree Hut, done the waterfall and got to Craig's hut for the sunset.. Also in the same area is King Hut and Lake Cobbler hut (well... more like a bus shelter than a hut). Next to Lake Cobbler, you can walk out to the highest waterfall in Vic, Dandongadale Falls which are about 250m in height.
Thanks for watching mate. I run the Hema maps both on my iPad and the paper copy. Unfortunately the restrictions for us was time on this occasion. Planning another trip out over 4 or 5 days and will smash out some of those locations for sure 💪
Great video. Funny when you lost it at the plastic storage bin. Lol.🤣 Do the food storage bins keep ants out okay?
It just wasn’t playing the game 😂😂 never had any issue with ants 🐜 anything that’s not wrapped I’ll usually put in large zip lock bags just to be safe though :)
Thanks for watching:)
Ripper little mission mate, well done on the trout 🤙😎
Cheers legend 🍻 love a good day trip !
I would highly recommend the Hayman Reece X-bar to tidy up the rear end and ARB recovery points on the front end.
Both definitely on the list mate. The money pit continues haha
Hey mate, Just wondering where this campsite was? cheers
Acheron, Victoria. It’s called “breakaway twin rivers caravan park” :) enjoy
Wowza what an end
Thanks mate :) it was definitely a highlight
Another great vid lads. Wasn’t expecting such a spectacular ending 👍
Cheers cocko. Definitely a highlight for us. The only waterfalls I’ve seen of that size was in the NT with you !
Owning a stock 2013 wr and loving it.
Legend 💪🏼
Great vid mate! Gonna start this soon, loving it, ill try take the same loop :D
Thanks for the support mate :) Definitely worth doing. To do it comfortably I’d pencil in 2 full days ;)
It looks like the gold pan wasn't seasoned so if you had gotten gold it would have washed out
I had no idea that was a thing mate haha lots to learn I guess haha
@@AllAussieOutdoors yeah just hit it with some 60 grit sandpaper to rough it up a bit, if you watch when you panned see how the water beads off that's cos they use a oil to make the pans so they don't stick to the machines, that's why you have to season your pans when you get them
hi what lift do you have on your vehicle and did you install a diff drop?
Thanks for the message mate. Head over the the rig build episode for the dmax to see the full build in detail :)
@AllAussieOutdoors sounds good 👍
What a great vid - tuned in to see the stuff on Jayco outback but was thoroughly delighted with the family shots and then the beautiful family and your exploits. Well done, and merry Christmas and an angels halo over all of you.
Thanks very much for the comment :) we are glad you enjoyed the episode. Merry Christmas 🎅🏼
Great work can’t wait to see more high country huts 👍
Stay tuned for more very soon shagga 👌
That’s cause they are so underpowered
Nothing a tune can’t fix. But as is ya can’t argue with the numbers
Compared to what? It's not underpowered at all in it's segment. Stop looking at the figures and start looking at the real world performance.
I came across your video again 10 months later because its so awesome, do you have a build video for your truck
Thanks so much mate!! I do indeed…..check out the rest of the channel for the build vid of the Hilux and my new Dmax
A hand dredge would help so you can get the gold off the bedrock stuck in the crevices. I'm a prospector 👍❤️💛💚
If it means finding gold….im keen 👌👌
@@AllAussieOutdoors also a snuffer bottle is very important to get the bits you can't pick up from the Pan 👍
@@rastaralph7154 will look into it mate. Thanks for the tips
@@AllAussieOutdoors I've got some videos of gold panning and prospecting on this channel if you need any help. I haven't done much this year other than a few live streams but just look for videos showing the Pan.
Cool video mate, great canopy
Thanks mate. I appreciate the support. Can’t beat a Norweld;)
Yeah
Great bit of history lads. When the Victorian gold rush was on it was the biggest in the world. Melbourne was the place to be bigger than Paris. !! You can see how rich the state was if you ever visit Melbourne’s Parliament House. Built with opulence reflecting the wealth of the Victorian gold rush era. 👍
Better chuck it on the list ;) was a great trip and a real eye opener to the lengths people went to just to strike it rich 👌
Bring it on.. waiting 😊
I was told if you change your wheel/tyres post GVM/GCM upgrade you void ur warranty from the manufacturer. The gvm upgrade has been engineered with a specific wheel/tyre combo & by changing it the manufacturer has no data on the new combo you’ve fitted. I’d check with the manufacturer &/or insurance before changing wheels.
Great car choice & great setup. I’ve ordered the same Ute.
Thanks for the message mate. All looked into prior to pulling the trigger. No affect on warranty if you don’t go above the 50mm larger tyres as specified by vic roads. Everything still covered with the combo I run
Love it out that way. Done a few day trips but that's about it. Need to get back down there one day. Keep the videos coming👌
Thanks very much legend. More vids coming soon 🍻🍻
How big is the tray and canopy? Looks good on dmax.
Can’t remember the exact dimensions mate but I agree she looks good ;)
