TCCRA Race 5203 at Rednecks with Paychecks on 4/7/24. I was not feeling it this race. I just felt off as we took off. I got a bad start and was behind everyone, which caused me to slow down because of all the dust. I tried to stay positive tho, since it was a technical track and I knew I would be able to catch some guys later in the race. Usually as the race goes on I get into my groove and can start making a push as my nerves calm down. That never happened for me, and I just never got into a good groove or felt comfortable during the race.
I made it around the track with only a crash at the top of a hill climb close to the finish line. It wasn't too bad and I was able to keep going. I missed my line and hit a rock causing me to pop up and lose control. After a breif stop to check over everything, I was good to keep going.
Unfortunately, in the middle of my second lap, I fought a tree and the tree won. A branch grabbed my helmet and ripped my neck back pretty hard, also causing my GoPro to become detached from my visor. I almost came off the bike, but managed to keep it up. That is where the video ends, as I had no way to keep recording. My neck was instanlty sore, and I made the decision to just finish the lap and call it. It was pretty uneventful at that point, as I was just trying to survive and get off the course.
We will have to try to do better next time! I finished 24th out of 25 and only raced for 63 minutes. Thsi vdeo was shot using my GoPro Session, so sorry for the increased vibrations, this camera does not have image stabilization on it.
