You should take the time to learn how to paint. I just started this year with the Thunderjaw Moderoid. It's quite a fulfilling hobby!v ::)

Mine just arrived and it's definitely not 3D printed, there's even some rubber parts. it all looks very carefully designed to be super user friendly in assembly with clear instructions what exact paint to put on every single piece, and all pieces have some hidden joints to put them together easily. It's also way bigger than I thought, im impressed

I mean, while I don't disagree. As someone who has built model kits in the past. I find this to be quite a large and detailed kit and about on par if not cheaper that other unpainted gundams/model vehicles. That being said, I personally prefer the coloured plastic approach and have built some amazing model kits under $100aud. The Bandai Buzz and Woody Toy Story model kits are a great example, I think I paid about $80aud for them. But they're basically movie accurate figures. Apart from woody being plastic and not plush for his body and limbs. Each individual eye on those are posable to be able to make them look any different direction. They have insane articulation and come with multiple hands/faces. If it came with like double the amount of faces/hands I swear you could make stop motion out of them. Model kits can be quite impressive for under $100, but this is still quite an appropriate price tag for what it is. Really hoping I can convince someone to get it for me as an Xmas present cause it's a lil out of my price range right now.

@mattmerr Yeah, it's a real shame because it would look incredible on my desk and I'd love to send support for how incredible the game is but I would be terrible at painting it so 🤷🏼‍♂️

The amount of energy it'd take to launch something into the Sun is immense. Earth is travelling around the Sun at around 30 km/s (18.5 miles/sec), and a spacecraft needs to be able to cancel out most of that velocity to bring its perihelion (closest point in its orbit to the Sun) inside the Sun. Despite this, it might theoretically be possible with existing technology with the use of a gravity assist from Jupiter. The mission that eventually became Parker Solar Probe was originally going to be a nuclear-powered spacecraft that did a Jupiter assist instead of the chain of Venus assists it has used to lower its perihelion. The concept was scrapped due to a non-nuclear powered option being necessary in addition to the 6-year orbit the Jupiter assist would put it into only giving two opportunities for science collection at perihelion. Speaking of perihelion, because it would be so low, the spacecraft would be going extremely fast, which would give very short windows of time for data collection. The spacecraft would also have had to been able to withstand the even greater heat from a lower perihelion as well as the much colder temperatures out at aphelion (furthest point from the Sun in its orbit). Lastly, the greater distance from Earth would require it to have a bigger antenna. Almost of these things would require the spacecraft to have more mass. Lastly, propulsion technologies had advanced between the time that the mission was being designed and the time that the spacecraft was built. Ah, right, this was supposed to be a response to a joke about launching the model Herthian Ship into the Sun. At the very least, I hope anyone who read learned something. 🤓

@@atomicjay42 I did learn something, and you could use a mass driver system to launch it; given its relative size and weight. It would be a waste of time and money but private space agencies are on the rise.
