My dream is to be a Snow Plow Operator

It is a good idea to put in angled parking on streets that are wide enough to accommodate it, providing extra parking. However, I question the decision to align the angled parking so that cars and trucks must back in. Most places I’ve seen it implemented have been drive in, back out. I work on housing and commercial development projects that include angled parking in their plans and they all have front-in parking. I would not like to own a business or home along a street that has back-in angled parking. All the time those vehicles are running, whether backing in, or warming up to leave, and driving out, the exhaust is being blown towards any open windows or people sitting on their porches or people doing work outside or people walking on the sidewalks. Had an MD ask me some years ago, at an initial visit, about whether I lived in a home with a built-in garage - because of long term accumulative health issues related to continuously breathing low levels of car exhaust. It is also somewhat personal to me because a few years ago I was working in an office and started getting dizzy and severe headache which went away when I went outside. When we brought a CO detector device in there and turned it on, it immediately gave the evacuate warning. There was a car repair facility in another part of the building that apparently shared an air vent with the office. It was September and cold and for the first time I had the windows closed. If that doctor had not brought the idea of getting sick from car exhaust into my consciousness, I might have died that day. So, it seems to me that changing the lines on the streets so that aiming the car exhaust into traffic rather than towards unprotected people might be the healthier way to design it. Front in angled parking is a great idea to help with adding more parking spaces in other areas of the city, too.

No. Forget it, my 2016 Challenger will never be in one of those parking spaces. I would rather walk 3 blocks than deal with that. Honestly. We are not McCall, Seattle, or anywhere else! Backing out of regular places spaces is a no brainer, with all the backup cameras, and techy babysitters. Get real, not a fan.
