Nice video. My 2 watch collection includes the polar Explorer for daily and Milgauss for dress. Both not typically recognised which I like.
Thanks for sharing!
Since I own a Polar myself and love this watch, I started to view videos about it. I would like to explore, how other people are loving this beauty, too. Bro, you did an awesome video, great storytelling. You gonna be big on UA-cam.
Thanks for the encouragement. Glad you enjoyed and working on the next review now for the 126619LB. Enjoy your Polar in good health 🙏
Got the same watch and then spent over $600 for the optional Omega rubber strap but with a folding clasp. Maybe the dumbest thing I've ever done, but I'm just not a fan of pin buckle straps. Love the watch and agree the color may be a little too unique to be your ONLY watch. My other Omega is the Seamaster Aqua Terra (220.12.41.21.02.002) with the newer 8900 movement, but the 300M 8800 movement keeps more accurate time.
Yes aqua terra is a better daily piece in my opinion. Enjoy it
Put the sub bracelet on the GMT
Excellent. Thank you.
I wear mine everyday
One of the bests reviews!!! Congrats!!
I thought these did not come with a see through case back? The one I tried on did not. That was the only knock
Beautiful watch, but I would prefer Explorer II with a black dial because it looks more like a real tool watch. It does look like a tool watch more than any other Rolex watch in the current catalog.
I love this polar
How many centimeters is your wrist? It looks great. My left wrist is 16 cm in my right wrist is 17 cm. I usually wear things on my left wrist, but I wonder how this one would look. By the way, I have a 116710BLNR GMT that fits me great on my left 16cm wrist. My fear is just as you had mentioned, the fact that they say it's 42 mm kind of scares me with a purchase this big.
My wrist is around 16.5 cm. Hope that helps!
If the gmt fits well, the explorer will be fine. I have both and they wear very similar.
Absolutely brilliant watch..has travelled all over the world with me. Best travel watch IMHO.
Love the watch! In 5 years of daily wear only 2 comments made by real watch guys! Best watch ever! I had the 216570 Polar. Honestly the GMT part is gimmicky but it’s still cool :) I use am pm mostly
I do like the gmt master ii but the lack of on the fly adjustment is a big drawback. I decided against it and bought a CV overseas instead (phenomenal watch) but maybe in a few years when Rolex prices come down to earth I’ll revisit this watch. Great video!
The VC is a more delicate and intricate watch and properly hand finished. Congrats on the piece!
Rolex please please brush the gmt bracelet. It doesn’t need to be so shiny. Remember your roots.
What are your thoughts on buying this watch as a second Rolex with someone who has a BLNR?
On oyster or jubilee? For oyster the main perk will be that the explorer will just feel more under the radar but the difference is even bigger if you have a jubilee variant.
@@RedDotWatches I have both the oyster and jubilee bracelet. Thanks for the input!
I thought flying from the UK to Indonesia was bad enough. Your flights had some air time 🤪
Liked the video and the wrist shots. The explorer is probably the one Rolex model I don’t own…but giving the “under the radar” perspective, I’m thinking of getting one now. Thanks!
One thing I will always hate about the watch community are these stupid watch nicknames.
Thanks a lot. I like that you really wear these watches instead of putting them into a safe.
Fantastic review. I gotta say, I see a lot of date subs, especially the 16610 models. But I rarely see the 114060 out in the wild. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it.
Speedmaster over Daytona all day and and night
Before I knew anything about watches...this is the watch I wanted when I first looked at a Rolex. The last few years I've been obsessed with watchmaking videos, and it's taken me a while to jump into watch ownership. I'm addicted. I just purchased this with an oyster bracelet this weekend. I have some Seikos, Hamilton, Ball, and now my first Rolex. Thanks for the video review!
Really enjoyable review, great job
Glad you enjoyed it
Not enough contrast on the bezel
Agreed 💯
Just found your channel, love the Rolex content. When I sent my Submariner off for service after 20 years, I faced the huge dilemma of whether to polish or not. After considering exactly what you said in your video, there are tens of thousands of these out there, and MOST of them are worn and scratched. I decided to have Rolex polish it when I sent it back to Switzerland for service because I wanted it to look amazing again (I also had a nasty scratch on the bezel). If you're going to have a polish done, the ROLEX service center is where to do it (I would have never got it polished anywhere else). And now that it's back, I'm so very glad I did have it done! The quality of the polish is exactly what you should be concerned about if you decide to do it. I don't feel like I lost a thing by doing it either, and again, it shines! (mine is a two-tone btw). There is no discernible metal loss and when my watch maker looked it over he said it could pass as a new old stock now! Enjoy your Sub in good health...
Watching with my 12650 Black Dial on my wrist, I love it more than my 11650 panda
Thanks for this amazing video. I owned both the previous discontinued Panda and the latest GMT Pepsi. What do you think works better as an only Rolex watch piece to own?
GMT Jubilee for me. The complication is more practical, i prefer the look and the jubilee bracelet because the polished and brushed bracelet has small surface areas scratches aren’t noticeable after years of heavy wear. I have a 5 year old Pepsi that still pops. Thanks for watching, the gmt pepsi review is on my channel if you are interested!
@ Many thanks for the reply. In deed I watched your amazing Pepsi review. I tend to agree with you about the functionality and durability of the GMT compare to the LOOK ONLY panda style. Thank you and looking forward for more of your exceptional reviews. Cheers!
One of the best watch channels on UA-cam,I am a watch collector,.. bought mine on AMZWATCH
I have the 1166110LN ,bought in 2017 Great great watch Comfy ,robust and just overall classic Looking fwd to my 10 year anniversary
Better quality movement from that price point you ask? Would be longines Ultra Chron
Watching with my 24-year-old 116528 Daytona on-wrist. Lovely production, sir!
Which dial? Those are great pieces.
Owned the old one. I still love my pepsi more. I need the date sometimes. But chronograph i dont need it. Daytona might look handsome but the color scheme and how busy the dial sometimes make it hard to read. It is more into fashion jewelerry. As a watch i prefer pepsi or gmt master 2.
Thanks for sharing 👍
You're right but it's still my favorite & not even close.
The color scheme of the Pepsi kind of matches the RedBull
So good, great review on a classic!
Appreciate you watching 🙏
One of the best watch channels on UA-cam,I am a watch collector,.. bought mine on MAMACOO
Sorry but the Daytona is way over hyped and kind of useless. Tell me how many time has anyone ever used the timer? Not to mention, it doesn't even have a day or date function. Sky-Dwellers and GMTs are way better watches to buy.
Every mechanic watch is useless
😂 can’t argue with that. Its 100% not a rational pursuit.
I wear a Daytona daily and I never use the timer.
That’s a childish take, a hater take if you’d like. By your logic, all luxury watches are useless, we should all just be rocking casios. Heck, jewelry is useless it’s also probably just hype. There’s nothing wrong with staying in your lane you know, we don’t always have hate on something that’s out of our reach (but of course that’s not why you’re hating on it, wink wink).
@@Curiousinternetperaon Actually you sound just like a 12 year old kid throwing around words like hater. Grow up. And where do you see in my comments the word hate? Your comments have absolutely nothing to do with my comments.
Great entry daytona. I prefer the black dial😊
Yea I could see myself wearing the black dial more often. A bit more stealth
subscribed, been awhile since i saw an interesting watch video.
Thanks for the encouragement!
This is one of the coolest reviews I have ever seen!! And GREAT point about using it as a knock around daily.. I realize this is many peoples grail but it’s absolutely meant to be a daily beater and thats where it really sines as the superstar that it is.. once again GREAT Job on this video I had to watch it 2 times in a row lol loved it
Thanks for the comment and encouragement. Much appreciated 🙏
Awesome review. How long was your wait after requesting or did you purchase Grey?
Grey market man :-)
@RedDotWatches All good brother, congrats on the piece! I have a great relationship with my AD but I expect to be waiting several years and I'm okay with that. Thanks for sharing this awesome video of your personal experience with it!
@@darellhunter2205 thanks for the comment! Yup - i’m too impatient for an AD 😂
Love your reviews mate
Thanks for the encouragement 🙏
🔥
The 116500ln is 38mm. Having some... consternation with the comment that the 12 feels smaller at 39mm. My opinion, the 12 does wear a little better as the caseback is thinner. You dont need to screw down the pushers if you dont want to.
Both the 126500 and 116500 have a 40mm diameter based on Rolex published specs.
Nice video, seems like it has plenty of wow factor for the owner. However I think I follow what you mean. Cheers
I prefer the Bruce Wayne especially for a one watch collection. That being said, it would be super hard to decide between keeping and getting rid of the Pepsi and the BW. The Pepsi specifically because how iconic it is. I’d probably cash the Pepsi out because it’s worth more and I like the BW better on the oyster anyways.
Great video! Cheers from Montreal
Il faut donc prendre le fond noir ou blanc .
AMZWATCH is a must for me as a watch collector
I bought a watch from AMZWATCH lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
