How to find out if a tire loses air
Переглядів 151Рік тому
It's really annoying when a tire loses pressure over time. Whilst a small amount is normal over several months, usually a few weeks is a different story and has some kinda of issue. Rarely this can be the result of a porous rim, which we don't cover here, but normally either the bead or the valve has some kind of leak, usually due to corrosion. We'll take a look at how to quickly find out where...

I view the ending of this film somewhat of a metaphor for what is sadly occurring to the once great Chrysler Corporation right now.
I saw a documentary earlier about the car it only topped out at 123 mph
Drive inn
I saw this movie when I was 11 at a driving along with Evel Knievel it was awesome right around the same time they made dirty marry ,& crazy Larry
A good time to be alive
This was super helpful, and a very underrated video
Totally pointless movie. "Bullit" car chase was much more exciting and didn't have all the unnecessary sub-plots (like Super Soul).
This movie is the definition of cool.
how it meant to end with hitch hiker then chase .it would of build up the ending ..
Suki sprayed the bridge !?!
If you watch the expression on Martin Balsam's face before he commits suicide in Alfred Hitchkock's "Final Arrangements" and then take note of Kowalski's expression right before he obliterates himself in "Vanishing Point"...you might note two examples of pure bliss.
Had to come back and watch this again a year after I first saw this great little video. Awesome piece of work here. Thank you!
We were cut from our statement before but just so you all realize, a Camaro was catapulted into the Cat. blades. Our family history WITH Chrysler Corporation was involved in supplying the Dodge Polara Police Interceptors, the Plymouth Satellites and a specific group of variously equipped Dodge Challengers. Engines included 383-2bbl••383-4bbl.••440-Magnums but NO 426-Hemi as there was plenty of purpose- power in ALL 3 listed power plants. Cupid Productions was credited by my Dad /Chrysler for wrecking as few of all 'loaners' as they did. Keep in mind, an ad campaign was in the works to show potential buyers what Chrysler's UnitBody Construction represented in terms of saving lives but everything went south with said campaign. Since pre launch calculations WERE made based on UnitBody Construction, the 'folding' Camaro was not anticipated due to a simple error in math. Chrysler was adamant about NOT completely flattening it's new "ponycar" so it all actually was a better result. Chrysler was fairly certain everyone would notice the INCORRECT quarter panels [for a Challenger] as Cupid ensured silver painted rear wheels would cinch the difference. As we ALL know, the unanticipated 'full fold' left just enough similarity for people to believe the 170+m.p.h. Dodge did meet the blades. We can 'testify' that the worn- not wrecked Challenger lived on. The film was edited to death over "a certain actress demanding top billing" just as film distribution was being prepped & told NO•• had her walk off in a huge huff eventually forcing a "try to salvage this puppy" via deleting her and approx. 48 minutes of the "OH" factor. Well, the FULL story is a tearjerker- one day you just may luck out seeing TRUE start, mid-mid-mid explanation into THIS ending, but don't try this at home••or ANYwhere.😮🙄🤔😢🤯
Addendum to the FACTS from the comment from Chrysler Corporation insiders involved in vehicle distribution at that time. A) Typo may break up '440- Magnum' & B) ••as well as one IMPERIAL LeBARON. See our statement and these corrections will be obvious. P.S. By coincidence, the Imperial was ironically equipped with a "440- T.N.T." power plant per the factory build & broadcast sheet(s)

Numerous youtube videos have shown that fuel stabilizer does NOT WORK on the negative effects of R10. Gelled fuel turns to Crystalized fuel in fuel lines Carbs, fuel pumps and so on. Corrosion has been another byproduct of the ethanol/water residue after a period of storage. Check it out, there have been many different ways tried to test the long term storage but so far nothing has proven affective.
The fuel stabiliser products sure jumped on the bandwagon with what appears to be snake oil to the cause. One aspect I've not seen explored is neutralising the ethanol instead of filtering it out. Supposedly potassium or sodium hydroxide will make ethanol inert. Could be worth seeing if that works which could be a good way to treat a tank that sits for longer. Of course it would be worth understanding what effects that has and if it has any side effects on combustion or storage.
Thank you so much for this wonderful explanatory video on my favorite film of all time, "Vanishing Point". Your comments with examples are so informative and clearly explained. I have the DVD version, but based on watching your video, I have just ordered the 2-disc Blu-Ray version. Thank you so much again. (Liked and Subscribed) Best wishes.
Thank you for such a kind comment! I'm glad the examples and comparisons were helpfiul. The DVD is definitely a good watch, the Blu-Ray just gave it that extra little life. There are certain scenes, such as the intro, which look a lot cleaner on Blu-Ray. The scenery is a big part of the film and seeing those wide landscapes on a larger screen makes it really immersive. Hope you enjoy it when it arrives, along with all the bonus features on there. Thanks so much for the support of the channel, it really helps and encourages me to do more!
Rust buckets. Leaks windshield whistle. Rough riding mechanical repairs every weekend. Chrysler sucked. Points. Coils all on 14 inch wheels
Sorry pal••you could not be more wrong about Chrysler Corporation Products then & now. ONLY Chrysler Aerospace/Defense got our most critical missions TO space in the 60's & 70's, engineering in EVERYthing all along [yes, with a few- very few automotive potholes along a 60+ year road] and ultimately being the ONLY ones truly capable of successful protection[S] for every American. After 181 various Chrysler Products- NOT the rockets / propulsion systems but cars & trucks, I'd very happily do it all over again••FACTS😮
How I miss that movie
It proves one thing freedom is your life until you or someone ends it and it's so sad
I remember watching the movie at the drive in 1974 a couple years after it came out, The crowd loved it and did burn outs on the road from the drive in, There was probably a few 'Cudas, Roadrunners and a Challenger in attendance and lots of Camaros and Chevelle SS's, We had my mom's 1971 Oldsmobile Delta 88 and a six pack each.
The first scene when Kowalski wakes up on Sunday morning was filmed on N Westlake Blvd in Thousand Oaks CA, just a few hundred yards away from the filming location of the final shootout scene in Arthur Penn's Bonnie and Clyde film from 1967.
Thanks for sharing, never knew that! Wonder if it was one of the last scenes they filmed as they were heading back in the direction of the studios in Hollywood.
Awesome Awesome movie.

Great Job, my favourite movie, you did it justice, love the edit ! 😍
Thank you so much for the kind feeback :) Glad it was a good watch!
I can picture Johnny Cash singing this at the end. What have I become My sweetest friend Everyone I know goes away In the end And you could have it all My empire of dirt I will let you down I will make you hurt
Great idea - they would work well together
One of the most perfect endings in film history, period. And Cleavon Little doesn't get enough credit for how brilliant he is and how important his performance is to the impact of this film and ending. Great edit comparing the opening and ending.
Definitely one of his best performances, he was perfect for the role
Interesting. The Black Imperial that passes the white Challenger in the opening sequence is the car that Kowalski delivers to Sandy in Denver before picking up the Challenger and heading back west to California.
Creates a good timeloop - could almost create a houndhog day at the transition. That would have been pretty trick on DVD/Blu-ray; add the transition scene at the end of the movie, create a chapter marker that jumps from there to the transition at the beginning of the movie, following the Imperial back to the car delivery place and continue the movie on
Vaya con Dios Kowalsky. St.Paul Minnesota.
Didnt barry himself pull off both 180s? Pretty sure i remeber hearing that in the directors cut?
Good question - will have to rewatch the interviews and directors commentary, you are highly likely correct
6,4 hemi ..silnik poezja ..dźwięk mistrzostwo świata
It makes for a great soundtrack
As an OEF vet watching Kowalski’s end pretty much sums up our GWOT generation.
As a Desert Storm veteran, I agree.
Thank you for doing this...a new perspective on my favorite movie!
You're very welcome, it really helped ground down how the flow of events went - glad it was worth watching!
17:49 is that body parts?
It really does appear to be 🤢
As the director once stated " Barry Newman belonged in that car. " R.I.P. Barry Newman.
That will always be my "Temptation of St. Anthony." Perfection!
I made a cassette copy of the soundtrack (w/dialogue). I listened to it many times. Including right after talking to my first true love, Brenda Capper, when I drove to Albion College.
17:49 Is that Kowalski's burned head?
It really looks like it - white shirt torn away and all
If you look at that car at the end it's not a 70 challenger. Found an old white 68 camaro that had a six Banger in it band destroyed that and burn it up for the scene
Yep correct! If you pause at the right time you can see "Camaro" on the trunk lid. Also the hood that's thrown over past the dozers is not an R/T hood, just a plain Jane stock Camaro hood. They used the Challenger with a long cable attached to it to pull the Camaro into the dozers
One big mistake...how does the chrysler travel from the direction the road is totally blocked by dozers and cars?
That's an interesting one - when that transition is at the beggining of the movie, the Chrysler is followed by the camera and is the one that Kowalski delivers at the beginning of the movie, in order to pick up the Challenger. Technically they're not on screen at the time, the Chrysler is actually passing through on Thursday or Friday, and not on the Sunday. BUT if it is passing by on the Sunday, then it creates a time paradox, because Kowalski is passing himself - he wouldn't be able to get the Challenger if he wasn't in the Chrysler. I don't think we know from where the Chrysler came, I don't think it's mentioned at the start, but it seems like he's running a similar route back and forth. Most likely the film is showing him pass at a previous time, and the two cars aren't on the road at the same time, only representing a repetition of journeys. But it works well as a time paradox too.
I’m confused by the way this video is edited. But enjoy watching the scenes with the Challenger. It’s a shame Charlotte Rampling’s part (as Lady Death) was cut out of the American release. One of the few times in cinema when deleted scenes should have remained in the movie.
Anything I can help to clear up on the edit? Happy to answer questions around it. There is technically a timeloop/time paradox at the transition scene with the Imperial and Challenger crossing paths. I agree, it really was a shame that part was removed. First time I saw the movie it was the short version and felt like something was missing. It created a lot of debated about the time and locations, because Kowalski easily would have made it across in the middle of the night, well before the dozers were setup. Once that scene came around, it made it much more sense why he was so far behind where he could have been. And it added a little extra meaning to the film.
@17:42 - Wheel magically changed to chrome reverse from stock road wheel(s) on vehicle throughout earlier portions of film. And, oh yes, it's actually a Camaro. LOL.
Didn't Kowalski have to get where he was going all he would have to pay the Bar Tab he was not wanted by the law and was just a car delivery man but I am not sure the Challenger would arrive in showroom condition just for a challenge even if he was caught by the law what would be the worst that could happen one of the best Road movies of all time
Very welcome and glad it was a useful edit
This was perfect! Thank you for doing this as I have always wanted to see it as one whole piece! This movie is a classic and very well put together!
Thanks for much for the kind words :) I'm glad it was useful, it's always bugged me wondered how it flowed together, I'm glad it wasn't just me, and glad it's been helpful!
Went to see this movie when I was 10 years old when did first came out in Jackson? Heights, queens, my dad owned the same exact Car 1970 white Dodge Challenger. This movie stayed with me my whole life and did a couple of vanishing points myself.
Coolest dad ever! Bet there are many good memories cruising around in a 1970 Challenger as a kid
This movie and specifically the ending have so many different meanings in them it’s crazy….but for me the biggest message is how little freedom we really have and how much trouble the powers that be will go to if we don’t bow down and kiss their boots. This movie follows thousands of police spending (in 1970 dollars) hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment and manpower to hunt down 1 man in 1 car who has actually hurt ZERO other people in any way shape or form. His only crime was breaking a speed limit and not stopping before he reached a county line so they could make him pay a monetary fine in their jurisdiction. Because of this infraction they sentence him to death….it was never really a choice….to someone who HAS to be free he couldn’t take spending decades in prison for violating a speed limit and being a better driver than the cops that tried to catch him. The founding fathers started this country on the notion they would have liberty (freedom) or would DIE before giving it up. Kowalski represents the man we’d all like to think we’d be if the choice between freedom and death came down to being very real and very literal at one moment in our lives. He chose freedom by showing his would/be oppressors that he’d rather die free by his own choice than submit to their tyrannical will. It’s really a beautiful thing to think about….true freedom. It’s no wonder he’s grinning with that 440 Magnum wound up to 5,500 RPM roaring down the road at 140mph straight into those dozer blades.
