Reel Tyme Fishing & Custom Rods
United States
Приєднався 7 лип 2021
I love to fish in eastern North Carolina, Primarily, the Neuse River around New Bern, NC. Depending on the time of year, Speckled Trout are the fish I target from late October through April. I like fishing with Mirrolures' and soft plastics. After that I go after Redfish through September. The Neuse River/Pamlico sound estuary is a tremendous fishery. We may catch Trout, Redfish. Flounder and Striper in the same areas on the same day.
Epoxy Ramp Winding Check
This is a short video of how I do am epoxy ramp that serves as a winding check for a custom fishing rod. It gives a much better look than the rubberized black round ones, that are premade

It's a good fishery!
Beautiful 🤩
Thanks 🤗
How cool!
Yea, This is a real good bait
How do u average the Circumference of each measurement boss? And how do u know how many cross points you’re able to do ?
What I do is, I determine the length of the decorative wrap. That's usually determined by the distance between the label area ,( just below the first guide) to the hook keeper. around 7 to 10 inches. I then get the circumference at the beginning of that area, the middle and end of that area. Then divide it by 3. Millimeters are easier to use doing this. that figure is usually around 40MM. That's what determines the number of crosses in the pattern. I hope this helps. Thanks
How much thread do you normally use for wraps like this one? I’m curious on how much thread I would actually needs.
That's kind of hard for me to give you an exact figure. If you select 4 or 5 different colors and order 1 spool of each color, you will have plenty of thread to do this type of pattern. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching!
Absolutely amazing stuff
Thank You very much!
I am wanting to refurbish a few vitnage rods that i have. I was so confused at how the chevrons worked. I know time is a factor, other then not showing the measurements and marking this was very helpful.
I'm glad this was helpful. I mentioned 40MM, that was the distance between the crosses in the pattern for the open chevron. With open chevrons, I just make the pattern measurements all the same distance apart. Thanks for watching.
Do me a favor and send me one of the cool rods you got lol
No Problem, I'll trade you a rod for a few hundred dollars
@@ReelTymeFishing 😂😂😂
Love the colors.
Thank You!
Great bait!
One of my favorites
Beautiful 😮
Thank you! 😊
Nice wrap! Nice Salt Strong Slam tee!
Thank You, I really appreciate it, and thanks for watching!
I like it
What size thread were you using boss ?
I use a lot of size A, but on this one it is size D. If you are starting out, I would start with size D. Thanks For the question and thanks for watching
I love the way you fight your fish it bugs me when people hoarse them let the drag work
I know what you mean. It really takes the fun out of fighting the fish. Plus I do love, hearing the drag scream!
Closed chevron or diamond wrap?? That wrap is beautiful!!!!
Thank You very Much!
Cool
Thanks
If you film it I will watch it
Thanks Harry, I really appreciate that!

The Saints are a great football team! Thanks for watching
I do the same thing anybody in the family that once one get's one. I have three nieces that lives in Destin Florida. They'll be getting fishing poles in their favorite colors for Christmas this year.
Yea, I love doing it for my family, for free, as much as I do selling them. There's really not much money to be made anyway unless you do it in a big way
Yes LSU colors in the house 😊. If you posted three 1-hour videos I watch them. all
Beautiful 🤩 😮
Thanks 🤗
Very nice...
Thank You very much, and Thanks for watching!!
What’s the depth and water temperature?
The temperature was in the upper 70's. As for the depth, first thing we were in the 2 ' range, as the day went on we were in the 3 to 5 ' range. Thanks for watching
Great tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Wind knots can also occur if too much braid is loaded on the spool.
Absolutely, We've all learned that the hard way. Good to hear from you!
Nice video , cheers.
We had a blast that day!, thanks for watching
Oh what a great day!
Yes it was!!
What flavor of procure was used?
I was using "Inshore" blend. But to be honest, I really don't think it matters which one you use. it "DOES" make a difference to use it. Thanks For watching
I think you have a really good idea and a very good method transferring line. I do wonder why no one puts a bolt through the reel spool and 'drills' the line to the spool. Seems like there. Would be no line twist at all.
I guess you could do that, I never thought to do it that way. After I spool the reel, I usually walk the 100 yards off of the reel in my yard. Then reel it back in. This eliminates any line twist that may have gotten in the braid. Thanks For the comment
Wow! First time I’ve ever seen this done, and at first, I wasn’t so impressed but it came together awesome. Great job!
Thanks and Thanks for watching
Great day fishing!
Yes it was
Good old New Bern
Yes Sir! No place like it
So where do the trout hide when the blues come in strong like that? Do they scatter back up the river?
As I filmed this, it's the last week in April. I think it's mainly just the time of year that trout are already moving back out into the Pamlico sound and the lower Neuse River. Blues kind of just take over up the river and even the creeks and it creates a lot of competition for the bait that's available.
Enjoyed the video.
Thank You! and thanks for watching
Fabulous 😮
Nice work! Great video!
Thank You, I really appreciate it
Great work and patience. Enjoyed the video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Stunning 😮
Thank you! Cheers!
Love it
Thanks Harry
Smooth!
One thing is missing, Texas Pete Hot sauce
Yes... you are right
I think a lot of the reason that bait worked is that the water is still cold, and bait fish are slower/less animated. Then again, that's not always the case in winter as trout tricks, etc often work. Who knows. Great video though, love it.
You're right, basically everything Slows down in the Winter to one degree or another. Sometimes so slow it's ridiculous, then sometimes I retrieve fairly quickly. We just have to figure it out every day. Thanks for watching
Love your work sir!
Much appreciated!
Your method is almost self-explanatory...great stuff. My second view of the day.
Awesome, thank you!
Trabalho fantástico amigo parabéns
