Pregnancy Tips with a Toddler + How I'm Preparing for 2 Under 2 in the Third Trimester
Hey friends! Today, I wanted to share some of what I’ve been learning as I try to balance life with a toddler while also navigating pregnancy (and all that lovely exhaustion that comes with it!). I’ll talk about the practical steps I’m taking to prepare for the big transition from 1 to 2 littles, and how I’m hoping to make it as smooth as possible.
But most importantly, I want to remind you that it’s okay not to have everything figured out. I really hope this video brings some encouragement to you, especially if you are gearing up for a similar transition 🤍🤍🤍

This was such a fun video! I love seeing what others eat!😂
I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🤍
I would love the butter chicken recipe please!
How are you preparing for the transition to 2 littles? And seasoned moms-what made it easier for you??? Share your advice in the comments!
Hi Laura The last toy you mentioned for 0-3mths was a concertina book . Could you please tell me what is the name, brand and where did you purchase the book from? thanks Diane
Finnley has two syllables. You could also add another endind, like Finnton etc.
I love your stocking holders!
They're my favourite item in our decor collection! ☺
Bonnie is so cute, I went to st. Bonaventure university and we are called Bonnie’s so that name to me is so sweet. Also hazel
The MommaRue baby swing. Expensive, bulky, not practical. It was one of the most expensive things we purchased and it never ever got used. Collected dust in the basement now.
My favorite of your boy names is rudy which comes from rudolph . I also recommend Silvio and Lathan silvio because it starts with si like the dads name and lathan because it sounds like liam but is more modern
I grew up with an Avalee and everybody thought it was the most beautiful name ever . I also heard a youtuber name her daughter Avalina which is along those lines. I like it over plain Ava . If you like vintage, I heard the name Raynelle/Raynella which caught my attention. Charmaine is southern to me. So my vote is Avalee, Avalina, Raynelle, and Jorgina with nn Jory . They have my vote
Avalee is a new one to me - it’s so pretty! 😍
As a new mom, I agree with all of these things! The less I have to pick up, put away, and stub my toe on, the easier my life is. Would much rather be slightly inconvenienced sometimes because of not having everything, than having to manage and work around more things!
Amen to the stubbing the toe part lol, I feel like I do that daily as it is 😂 Thanks for sharing!
15 min and still didn’t get to the point…
What? She’s sharing what she feels isn’t worth spending money on. She named everything throughout the video and sometimes an alternative. What are you on?
I have 2 already (younger one just turned a year old), and I will say that the cloth drool bib one is definitely something that depends on your baby. We had maybe 3-4 for our first that were given to us as gifts, and I hardly used them. But with our second I ended up buying a bunch because they turned out to be a MUST if I didn’t want to change his outfit even more often than I already was (which was usually 5-6 outfits per day minimum in the early weeks/months, sometimes 5-6 just before noon). Both of our boys did a LOT of spitting up in the first 3-6 months (perhaps in part because of an abundance in my breastmilk supply and an imbalance in foremilk/hindmilk ratio 🤷♀️). I went through tons of burp cloths, but having the bibs helped preserve more outfits from needing to be changed when he spit up beyond the burp cloth or did it delayed. Our second has also done a ton of drooling for days or weeks ahead of each new tooth he gets (he had the first 8 teeth in by the time he was 9 or 10 months old), so the bibs can get soaked and swapped out easily without having every shirt/PJ he’s wearing get soaked constantly instead.
It's wild how things can change from baby to baby-sounds like the bibs were a lifesaver for you with your second! Thanks for sharing your experience!
A little advice - don't make too many assumptions on baby 2 based on baby 1. They're full of surprises. I wanted to do baby lead weaning with my son, they say you can start by 6 months. Well, no. He could only tolerate the finest pureed food at 7 months and now at 8,5 I slowly add the least bit of consistence to it. Any resrmblence of firmness would make him throw up so bad. You never know what's coming 😅
Haha, so true that every baby is different! Sounds like you’re rolling with it, though! Every baby’s on their own timeline. Appreciate you sharing! ☺
Same my baby is 1 and he barely can do any baby lead weaning. He would literally inhale the food and choke. Then he would get so frustrated and refuse to eat at all 😅
G girl names: Gabrielle, Giselle, Guinevere, Gwyneth, Garnet…
Super helpful thank you!
I'm so glad you enjoyed!
What brand of non toxic detergent and soap do you use?
I use Truly Free for pretty much everything!
Curious minds want to know-what's your #1 baby product MUST-HAVE that you couldn’t live without? Share below!
Wondering if u spray or clean these toys before firsr giving to baby? New mom here
If I do decide to wash them (especially thrifted toys), I just use warm water + vinegar. Hope that helps! 🙂
Laura’s lifejoy great video
I’m glad you liked it! ☺️
Love the idea of the categories! We have the bath crayons, balance bike and magnet tiles - my son got them last Christmas at the age of 1 and it’s been so fun seeing how in this last year he has grown with those toys and loves them so much. Highly recommend! ♥️ open ended truly is the way to go!
That’s so good to know! I’m a big fan of toys that will be a hit for a long time! ☺️ Thanks for sharing 🤍
Great ideas!!
So glad it was helpful! ☺️
Thanks for the content! For the rubber duck slide, we have that! One tip for that is to remove the one that is a sphere so he doesn’t swallow it. Also, I wish I would have removed the ducks with the metal bottoms because if you leave them in the tub, they leave a rust stain on the bottom of the tub really quickly! But other than that, we really enjoy that toy!
Thanks for the info, that is really good to know! I’m glad you enjoyed the video ☺️🤍
If he doesn't have them yet I recommend the mega blocks for that age or the blocks of any kind. Def great ! Great video thank u. Already have our gifts for our 28m old (4 items cause I did struggle not to get things through the year) and decluttered alot more but was curious lol. I always recommend @papertownhome and @ashleyembers toy videos recently on how development toys are not needed and pros to open ended. Good call on magnitiles because we have a big pack we got and little dude still doesn't build but likes to play with them or knock down what I make lol
I’m glad you enjoyed ☺️ That’s good to know about the mega blocks, I’ll keep that in mind!
My 13 month old daughter has the Melissa and Doug school bus and loves it! Hope Danny loves the fire truck 🚒
Aww, that's awesome! Melissa and Doug toys are such a hit! 😊

I would love the pumpkin squares recipe!!
Here you go! midwesternhomelife.com/paula-deen-pumpkin-bars/#recipe I swapped the canola oil for olive oil and also added only 3/4 cup of sugar!
#2 for me.
Thanks for watching! 💛
Laura. If you haven't yet found the source of the smell, it may be your garbage disposal or drain (in the other sink). Sprinkle some baking soda and dump some vinegar in them, let it bubble, sit for a few minutes and then run HOT water down the drain. Turn the disposal on while the water is running. That may help. It could also be the dishwasher filter. That can get gross and smelly. Scrub with soap and water. Your dishwasher could also probably use a deep clean- put one cup of vinegar in the top part of the EMPTY dishwasher and run on the hottest cycle.
If you didn’t toss the pot, there’s hope if it’s stainless steel like the piece you showed. Boil baking soda and water and use a wooden spoon to occasionally kick up the burnt pieces. It can take up to an hour, but it works!
Thanks for sharing 😍 Unfortunately it wasn’t stainless steel and was past saving!
@@lauras.lifejoy Ah, well. It happens to all of us at some point! Maybe you’ll be able to thrift a new one!
You don’t need containers for dividers in that second drawer. You just need two of those bamboo things that go all the way across. Making three smaller areas that keeps everything going in the same direction.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I love declutter videos! Excited to watch :)
I hope you enjoyed! ☺️
