Sur sargam is a well made film with great songs. Did not strike a chord with the hindi audience. The telugu Shankarabaranam was a super duper hit and even had a good run in Mumbai theaters. I think it was in Minerva known as pride of maharashtra

Nice collection. Some surprises.songs less heard these days.

Swarna sundari had very good songs. Kuhu Kuhu bole koyaliya by Lataji and Rafi sahab was more well received than the songs in the original south films. Although those were sung by very talented singers from the era.

Saneet Sarita, Bhule Bisare geet, Chayageet, Bela ke phool.... Inn sabhi programs se jo khushiya bachpan me hume mili, vahi surili, mannpasand geeto'n ki ladiya aap ne yaha sunayi, vahi khushi mili.. Dil se, aabhar Sir Ji..

While Naushad sahab was finalized for the music, his choice of lyrics writer was not easily accepted by the director. Vijay bhat was not sure if Shakeel sahab could pen the bhajans. His suggestion was Pradeep ji who was known for these.Shakeel sahab with his skill put everything to rest.

Heard Charukeshi. Ramnarayan sarangi lot of times. Excellent. Many people do not see sarangi played infront of them. I was lucky Mohamad Husain played it in my presence.. Lovely instrument. Ek tuna na mila...and all other songs are excellent. I heard Sadhana Sargam _ Ghanekar also. I have seen her when she was ten years old at her Pune relative.home. All songs are very melodious

Saraswati Chandra is a gem. Arguably the best for Kalyanji Anandji bhai . Chandan sa badan, Phool tumhe bheja,Main toh bhool chali babul ka des, The one you have played here is ultimate. Dil na chahe bhi toh saath sansar mein, chalna padta hain.

An example of one song not getting the response it deserves. Aaj dil pe zor from Milan. Due to other immense popularity of Sawan ka mahina, Hum tum yug yug, Ram kare aisa ho jaye etc even Bol gori bol .

Suhane Geeto'n ka ye sunhara silsila yuhi shuru rahe.. Dil se shukriya Sir ji..

Excellent presentation. In Maharashtra we have typical problem of corruption. The government department takes commission and the contractors compromise on quality of work.
