I don't think I've ever seen anything like it here in generic Sydney, closest being wall clouds and shelf clouds There was action packed lightning out in the ocean, but not really along the coast sadly, still let out some frequently i suppose Thanks for watching legend :)

This squall was the most lightning active event I've ever seen ever alongside the locations mentioned in the description.... I've never seen so many CGs so frequently consistent at once on the Windy radar app... unfortunate it died down heading towards Sydney but Nowra and Wollongong got hammered by a CG fest which is awesome :) Great to finally get a event like this, however this year seems to be another miss sadly :/ Appreciate u watching mate :) this storm was heavily outflow rain wrapped over here, but nightime put a decent lightning show on thankfully

Appreciate u for watching lad :) I'd love to visit America some day and tour alongside Tornado Alleys general district to capture and see a tornado or supercell sometime We generally get severe frequent storms in Australia during spring summer and autumn This past week there's been 12 million lightning strikes documented along Australia, 3 million on Sunday breaking practically all records which is insane!

@@SouthSydneyStorms During the Spring here, we do get lots of tourists from other parts of the world come out to chase tornadoes with the locals, so you would be most welcome! While it's not guaranteed that you will see a tornado it is still an adrenaline rush hoping to see one. If nothing else, you should see some intense thunderstorms. You just have to be careful and make sure you are with experienced chasers. Cheers and I hope to one day visit your wonderful country!

I'm glad it sort of turned into a crawler fest once nightime started, as the dissolving storms re develop along the coast over the ocean, it generally provides a nice view of lightning barrages I just wish it hadn't become a outflow rain wrapped event as it moved along warragamba dam to sydney Appreciate u for watching mate :) The humidity this year is gonna be a very rough one again | severe cloud seeding coverage + warmer oceans + north easterly winds generally provide 22°C nights with 80% humidity along the coast which is orectocially unbearable with light winds

@ yes it would have lol. And yes winter is coming pretty quickly in the us. It’s gotten cold now.

@Strawhataviation the North Easterly Sea breeze dissolved the squall line once it started getting closer to sydney and Illawarra (lightning wise) and become heavily rain wrapped... however once nightime started and the NE winds dissolved... the nightime show started again which was cool Appreciate the info tho about the event mate 👌👍 cheers for watching

@joshuarandazzo7335 thanks for watching mate :) slightly unfortunate how one of the massive cells began developing near Campbelltown moving up towards us, but thankfully we had the other storm develop a few kilometres away, wasn't super lightning active, however made a fairly nice Shelf Cloud :)

@ozthunder it was unfortunate how it began dissolving closer to Camden and Campbelltown, I was hoping to get a nice view of it rolling in down the street, but thankfully a new lot of cells developed fairly close to us near homebush and Canterbury, didn't produce much lightning, but had some nice hail in it which struck one of my friends in ashfield thanks for watching legend :)

@doowopdave9229 I'm fairly sure the Shelf Cloud was a dissolving storm, and the cell that developed a few kilometres away which produced some lightning created some fairly severe hail which created the sky to have that green look to it Thanks for watching :)

@WesternSydneyThunderstorms so keen for friday, probably gonna be a squall line way out west in the morning when that south west wind collides with the north west humidity... later in the evening might spark up a few cells close to Camden or Bathurst moving towards Sydney thanks for watching tho mate, it's strange how the storm in the video had a green look to it, despite not having much hail unlike the other storm, would have been nice to get a back shot of the storm further north but unlucky how it turned into one massive rain cluster which moved further east than expected

@@SouthSydneyStorms Ill be on the lookout. Usually the blue Mountains block off the squall lines though, but we still might get those discrete cells developing as the trough gets close

indeed, location was just past cooks river along the Nigel bridgde canal perfect for planespotting, I should hopefully be heading there more whenever storms pop up, great view of all directions :). thanbks for watching mate

Hey mate, my ultimate goal of last Night was to get a CG in the background of a plane arrival, but I forgot arrivals and departures shift runways depenending on wind shifts n etc, appreciate u tho for the comment and watching :) hopefully 2024 will be a better year than 2023 for storms 🤷👌

Yeah man last year might have been my least favourite year for recording storms ever 😕
