so... if Tyminski was tuning down the top string... are we talkin' Double Drop D
Sweet sound! 👍
Reminds me of the Tennessee flea markets I went to with music always being around.
awesome.God bless.

While not explained perfectly, this is actually the best tutorial I have seen/heard for this song (and I have watched a ton of these to try to figure out this song). Awesome job!
Excellent work! Thank you for the lesson. You sound good! 😄
Thanks!
You come in here and sign these papers and I’ll pay you $10 a piece
Merci+++
That's it 👍 i love this Song
jeg gir deg en sub
Tuning at the beginning would be helpful.
Pause at 4:29 that face had me laughing my ass off! Great video though, love the way playing this feels!
Tuned down by “one note” means one whole step, the low E string is tuned to D. I just watched a video of Tyminski and could see him tuning down the top string while chatting to the crowd before this song. Dan’s chord shapes look exactly like this nice guy’s. Well done.
just fabulous
kara and nate
Gonna pay you boys....five dolla each.
Great one, keep it up!
That guitar sounds great!
Rockin' Brother Picker!🎸
What kind of guitar is that ?
I have just no talent but this vidio has made me determent to persavere with this song(Ilove) and try to learn it to the best of my lack of ability.Ralf comes accross as a lovely guy,and also I love the sound of his guitar. Thanks very much Ralf, may the road rise before you.owney
great but I wish you would show more clearly the position and chords.Im crap and cant work it out
Good, just sounds the real chords . I subscribed. Thanks
Play the thing first. Then deconstruct. Teaching 101.
The actual song doesn’t use a capo, they are in an open chord which I’d like to figure out.
What does "actual song" mean though. The original by Dick Burnett was lyrics only. Emry Arthur (1920's), stanley brothers (1950's), peter paul and mary, bob dylan, and dan tyminski's version are all quite different from another. Dylan and, tyminski did use a capo on their versions though
Nice Job! 👍
One of their best covers!!
Er, to my generation (no Who reference there), Man of Constant Sorrow is an old Bob Dylan song.
It apparently goes back to 1913. Well before Bob Dylan.
@@grahambell4310 Is that the film version? Thanks for that but I saw the Rich Hall documentary yesterday and I'm confused.
@@Ystadcop Hi. No its an old standard like Rising Sun. This song was documented written in 1913, first recorded in 1928 and a few times after that, most memorably by a guy called Ralph Stanley in the 1950s. I remember Rod Stewart used to sing it. The film version from 2000 is a souped up bluegrass version done by Alison Krass' band and Dan Kaminsky. George didn't sing it I am afraid...
@@grahambell4310 Thanks for clearing that up. Keep up the good work, very enjoyable.
Thx for the lesson I love playing this song
