Thoroughly enjoyed this. I’m new to flintlock muzzleloading and think this wooden projectile might be a good way to practice getting use to the flash from the pan. Now I just need to find some doweling or, preferably, a wooden round ball that will fit a .36 caliber bore. Any ideas? I can’t come up with any harm this will cause my new Rice barrel on my SMR or am I missing something I need to know? Also, I’ve seen videos of polishing the bore with a Scotchbrite patch on a rod but what if I put a Scotchbrite wad in front of the wood projectile, so it doesn’t get scorched and melt inside my barrel? Any and all suggestions, especially about wooden round balls to fit are welcome.

I enjoy your videos immensely. I am also a flintlock and caplock shooter. It is a lot of fun to do novelty shooting such as this besides just well-aimed shots at regular targets. My wife and I moved to Alabama a few years ago and are exploring more of Tennessee and Kentucky. I hope we can meet you someday in person.

I woul have figured that bullet would have split into splinters in the 2x6, but you never know till tou try. Might be fun to small game hunt with after you pattern where it’s hitting. I tell you what. In my meager experiments discontinued Hevi-Shot. 625 double ball Hog Wild 12 gauge 3 inch magnum. At 25 yards my shooting results almost exactly as yours. One spot on the aiming point. The second one vertically strung much like your. 4 or 5 inches upwards. Improved Modified choke & iron rifle type sights. Interesting.

Years ago at one of our local BP Kielbasa Shoots (turkey shoot but the prizes were Kielbasa from a local smokehouse) a shooter had a contaminated owder charge when he loaded after cleaning is bore between shots and didnt dry his bore. Another shooter had something similar except he could charge his air cylinder from his truck tire instead of having to buy CO2 cartridges. Too bad they don't sell that mosel anymore, but then they couldn't keep making people spend money on refill cartridges, right? Grest video. I just found your channel.

Mark just so you're aware there's several of your videos missing that i love to go back and watch once in awhile. One is the "Cllock video " I think it was called Killing time or something like that. All of your old Ohio River boating videos are gone, including the cool old videos you did with John Cougar Mellencamp songs. Maybe you deleted them on purpose but if you didn't i wanted to let you know. This video looked like so much fun!👍😆 No doubt that was a sticky mess afterwards. Fun video!!! Are these both Pedersoli Kentucky rifles? I just bought a Pedersoli Kentuvky .45 caliber rifle.

Hi Mark, I just bought a Pedersoli .45 caliber kentucky rifle for target shooting. My American muzzleloaders have a classic flat breech which are easy to clean between shots. With the paterned breech of the Italian muzzleloaders I find that way of cleaning shoves the crud into the narrow end of the breech and eventually the rifle won't shoot until washed out. Do you clean your Pedersoli between shots and if so how? Thanks!
