I have a pretty good tank with a few torches that have been doing fine - one dragon soul put out multiple heads and was doing great. Out of nowhere today my knicks torch looked really shrunken, and this evening it looked like it was melting - moving the coral would send little bits all over. I didn't see a lot of brown but I guessed it was BJD and started a course of Cipro I tried dipping the coral but it seemed in pretty bad shape with a very receded fleshy portion so I decided to just throw it away. It was not colored up very well and hadn't added any new heads. Unfortunately it's getting really hard to find cipro!

This is producing some awesome wave effects for the tank! Man I like this so much I think I might just go the diy route also. I think even years after this video was made the diy version you showed will still be cheaper than what tunze is asking for the smaller wave box model.

I ran calc reactor for years. Try switching to kalkwasser. I use a reactor and add kalk every 4 to 5 days. It works wayyy better than calc reactor. Better PH, better growth, low phosphates, and great PE.

Very interesting idea. I have a 15+ year old Tunze wavebox that has failed. I may try to use it and get one of these pumps in and working. Do you have any way to get the pump out for service?

Did you get this resolved? I found TIN in my tank from a rusted screw that somehow fell into the sump. A month of battling and some SPS still have STS.
