Переглядів 16 тис.4 роки тому
This chocolate pound cake compares to none other! It was one of the first recipes featured on our New South Table blog in 2017 and for good reason....it is famous around here! This cake is loaded with chocolate syrup, so it is decadent, dense and ever so moist. This recipe was originally submitted by Mrs. P. Tarlton and Mrs. L. Watson in the Our Country Kitchen Favorites Cookbook from Deep Cree...

Lost me at " margarine "
Omg this looks amazing but a lot of work
Can you send me a written recipe for this?
Love the recipe, but the music was so annoying!
Look delicious thank you for sharing your recipe
That music is annoying. Sorry.
A lot like my wife and family cook's them, with couple things differently. We do use the whole bird, but I've never seen anyone boil the whole bird. Cut it into parts first. We also don't feel like you need any veggies in it. Remove parts when done, cool, pick the meat and, no, don't add the meat back until dumplings mostly done. And we don't use the soup. But we use self-rising flour. Guess it's all down to what you are used to and like. We use the pinch method instead of rolling them out. Just pinch off a dab of dough and drop it in pot.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sorry to be negative, but that ANNOYING music, not need for it as you are making a tutorial not a movie! The music drowns you out! In my opinion the dumplings look way over cooled.
THIS IS NOT CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS THATS NOT EVEN CLOSE. THE PA DUTCH WOULD KICK YOU OUT OF THE KITCHEN OF WHAT YOU DID AND CALL IT DUMPLINGS. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO GO BACK TO COOKING SCHOOL AND LEARN HOW TH MAKE REAL CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS. I KNOW BECAUSE I LIVE RIGHT IN THE HEART OF PA DUTCH COUNTRY LANCASTER COUNTY PA.
Too bad so many people don't know where their volume button is ! 😂😂 After all the directions are in the description box.
In the Amish area of south central PA this dish is called “slippery pot pie”. Your recipe is almost identical to our family recipe.
I made this tonight; was yummy! 😋
@@gladisiscool thank you so much! I’m happy you like it!❤️
Music is horrible
@@cindearbuckle6074 thank you for watching our video.❤️
I don’t use chicken soup in mine. It’s not needed
Your chicken and dumplings is almost identical to mine.. I don’t kneed mine so much. My granny told me not to work it too much or your dumplings might be tough.
@@debraanchante3661 thank you. I would love to see you make some like your granny. I’m sure I would love them! ❤️
I actually like the music
I love sweet potatoes any way you can fix them!!
I can’t find medium eggs. How many large eggs do you think I should use?
@@snw730 I don’t think it would hurt to use the same amount of large eggs. I’ve used both in mine and it has turned out fine, but maybe cut back to three if they are extra large? I wish I could be more help on this one.
You are such a good teacher! Beautiful Biscuits!!
Thank you for this recipe!
Yummy
That is the way my momma made it. I love it fried like that. Haven’t had any like that in years.
Thank you for your recipe. I just finished reading an ebook by Elle James where chicken and dumplings is mentioned.
Lower the volume of your music!!!!
Frozen Okra beats no okra at all.
My mama made her just like yours soooo good!!
That looks delicious and yummy
❤😂😂🎉😢😮😊😊😊
Looks good! I'll try it.
My old school Southern mother used Crisco most of the time. Any time she breaded it, it was overcooked and hsrd as a rock, so when she fried it your way, it was much better.
I personally don’t like videos with background music , it takes away from what is being shown. It’s also hard to hear clearly what person is saying
Video should be titled how to make dumplings.
I loved the recipe but the music is annoying and unnecessary.
Wow I never knew you can do that with Okra! Thank you for sharing! xx from UK
Looks DELICIOUS, must try it 😋
I was wiggling my cold 🥶 toes the whole time I was enjoying your chicken n dumplings recipe n hot dam it was Delicious 😋
Cream of chicken soup...
Cut the music. It is so distracting and not needed. I am anxious to try your method. I only fix rolled out dumplings. Dropped dough never tastes done in the center.
I like your technique. I will have to cook it myself. Even though your very basic. People enjoy flavor. So I will cook it your way . Eat it and decide if it needs more seasoned ingredients. Thank you 😊
Music over voice makes it impossible to watch
Yes cuz I see everyone putting carrots n celery n it I’m from the old school that’s a NO😂
Great looking dumplings...reminded me of how my grandmother did hers.
If i were to use canned anything, my family would kick me out from last name. If it works dor you, do you.
I would really like to try your recipe, is it possible to post one without the music... please
Looks good.
We divide the dough in Half instead of 3rds, for less work & add half a stick of butter in the boiling broth, when ready to drop, both times, so they don’t stick. & WHY add soup ? If you roll the dumplings with More Flour on the counter than in this video, it all thickens up nicely, & automatically, because of the eXtra flour on the cut dumplings we drop in. Even faster than with the soup. No need to add bouillon either. You could Add bone broth instead of water when you’re ready to add the dumplings, to raise the liquid back up to halfway up the sides of the pot. Great looking dumplings though! Fer sure, Perfect : )
Total cook time for the dumplings? I think that my problem I dont cook them long enough!
I like the music and the way you made the dumplings. Dum city slicker didn't like the music.😊
I LOVE THE DUMPLING BALLS INSTEAD
