Alfa 3D Shadow Light Update 2022
Переглядів 2432 роки тому
Here is a 2022 update on the 3D Shadow Lights I installed back in 2019. The video shows how the red Milanese Cross faded out completely. I went with new black and white logo and script image that should last more than 6 months. You can now create and get these with a customized design. Shipping from China was very slow. ENJOY !

I have an Giulietta and a Ctek charger. But no mather wat I do, after step 3 the Ctek charger goes in error and gives a red light. any idea?
Considering these are some of the top hardest ones to restore, you did pretty good!. These require a good amount of 320 grit to remove all that old clear coat and scratches, since Kia's clear coat is has pretty stubborn hardening properties. This is why you can see that line where the old clear starts. Definitely better, nice job!
Can you post a video where to buy it
Doesn’t actually work, since when the boot lid is fully open, the spring is fully contracted….. get the updated spring from Alfa Romeo
Someone literally just gifted me one of these Alfa Romeo battery tender after my battery went out….. I felt so blessed thanks for the video
Part 2? 😢
excellent!
The Carbon fibre bits…….did they come standard or did you install them as aftermarket?
What were the results of the Oil Analysis? Can you post the results? Thx!
Great video, I was trying to figure out where to connect to power without going through the firewall and your video solved that for me. I assume this turns on and off with the lights? Also how has the installation held up overtime is the adhesive holding it in place well?
The sample should have been taken from midstream, and not from the filter. Would give skewed results
Thanks a lot! Just used this video to attach my ctek
These look clean, how are you liking them six months later?
You can connect on the front
Great video, thanks for sharing. Southern Hydrographics has sold out, any recommendations on other carbon fiber clear hydrographic films? Thanks
What's that pattern on the tail lights, it's quite striking!
Thank you for the video :)
Thanks! I've had the trunk lid hit my head when the car was parked on a slope. It hurts when you don't have a lot of hair on your head to cushion the falling trunk lid. I brought it to the attention of the dealer and apparently there's not a technical bulletin on this. Great fix!!
perfect, because I couldn't close my trunk.. TY
Hello Karl, I am having that same exact noise in my 2005 crossfire. how did u fix it?
@KillerMoJo66 - You remove the pulley and be careful not to drop the shim washer. The problem is due to the rivets not being hard enough. This supercharger pulley is constantly being torqued and over time the rivets elongate and you may see wear rings where the metal straps rub against the sides of the rivets. My temporary quick fix is to take a punch and hit each rivet. Be sure to put something on the back side of the rivet before hitting the top side. That fix may last a few months be only real fix is to have rivets replaced with a harder metal. Google pulley repair and you will find places that due this.
Karl, my V is black. Any recommendations on making the light strip a dark color so the strip isn’t too visible during the day?
does this work on 2022?
Where can I buy this kit ?
Did you ever find out ?
Could something small like this void my maintenance warranty 🤔
Not at all !
Love the video. I wish you lived in Houston Tx. So you can do my wife's alfa romeo stelvio. Keep up the updates on the stelvio. How's the V- light kit doing now.
Did you disconnect the battery too or put fabs over 30ft
For the price of the car new, that is the worst engineering piece of junk I have ever seen. I've seen toys that are more durable than that. It degrades the value of the car.
Hey Daniel, Thanks for the detailed video. Am new to the hydro dipping and wanted to know the primer name you used for the low gloss spray… Thank you!!!
Learning the hard way, the hydrographic film will not stick to the rubberized light strip without first spraying it with three coats of clear coat. I used the same clear coat as primer that I used after the dipping. It was from Southern Hydrographics.
great video, THANK YOU!!
Do we need to disconnect the battery?
No need to disconnect the battery. Kit cables into a fuse box located under the hood near the passenger side firewall. Be careful. See video for wiring and follow Sean’s instructions.
@@kldiet where can I buy this kit
@@kyda3434 Sean Kurt’s has a web site hosted on Etsy called InnovationXSean.com where he sells the kit. If you want it with the wrap-around look you will need to ask Sean for a light strip that is 35.5” for the Giulia that has a CF overlay or it might be best to measure it out to the exact length you need. Also request the 90 degree end cap for best wiring through the grill.
@@kyda3434 go to Etsy.com and do a search for InnovationXSean or search for 2017+Alfa Romeo Giulia (V) Light kit V3 or Stelvio (V) light kit V3
Great video, I'll have to copy you on the dip method. Your light strip is much longer than mine. Did you get the Stelvio one? Mine ends right with the stiletto.
I measured and got Sean to customize the length for me. I have a Giulia but think the install should be about the same on the Stelvio. The CF overlay from Madness adds a bit of length to the strip over the standard grill. So use a tape measure to determine the exact length you will need.
@@kldiet hey there, what measurements did you use? I have a Giulia and would like to replicate the way you did this as it looks very form fitting
@@joeschmoe5608 I had Sean do a custom length of 35.5 inches. Please note that I have a carbon fiber grill overlay that requires extra length plus wanting the lights to go around the two top corners. I use the 90 degree end that fits perfectly through the grill as shown in the video. Thanks for watching.
@@kldiet yes, I have the same carbon fiber overlay I believe from Madness Autoworks, thanks for the info and the very helpful video!
Any advice on an installation that only has the regular grille finish(silver)?
what notch are you referring to I cant get these to lay flat in the frame
My trunk sags even without a rear spoiler and I’ve hit my head a couple time so I will try that fix, I think that was very smart hopefully it works for me
Good f****** God! Why didn't you just buy speakers that fit in the first place?!
Thank you sir
do you leave the trunk open while charging, close it on the cord, is there a trick? thank you.
The trunk can close with it attached
Ctek do sell a lead that fits an M8 stud - it cost me $15 in Australia - saves drilling/cutting/soldering.
Why did they make it so hard to keep the battery charge at all time when store in the garage? I used to drive a corvette c7 and it has a port for battery charging I wish they had this feature in giulia qv. I only drive mine like twice a week
Your logos are the opposite way round🤔 surely the rear door is the correct way round?
The front one is installed the other way around.
Real helpful - thank you.
Dude you're full of shit those fucking speakers don't fit after I did the cuts and mounted them into the holders they don't even fit into the damn holes and then the same model that you said to get
An easy repair is remove the retaining spring on the side The cup holder will still work just not automatic must open manually
You did a nice job but that unit is not well designed for an Alfa since it does not fit correctly without drilling out the eyelets and since the clamps don’t fit from the positive and Negative posts under the hood.
I have two other videos on UA-cam. Search for Alfa Giulia logo lights and Alfa Giulia trunk lid sag fix.
I have an SRT 6. The Crossfire is a great car except for two things. The goofy wing that comes up and down. That's why I like the fixed wing SRT6. The other thing is the cup holder. It is in the wrong position right under your arm and IT DOESN'T HOLD ANYTHING. Stupid thing to put on such a nice car.
FYI, the NA Crossfire needs the pop up wing! Have you seen any of the wind tunnel tests with the Crossfire rear end? Lol, above 80mph the rear end starts lifting. Hardly goofy, it’s needed to retain control at high speed.
Why couldn't you heat the plastic and remold it so it stays sealed ?
torque numbers to put it back together??
How does it sound..?? Was it worth it??
Im in the process of doing this but the fitment is super tight. What he explains in this video is the easy part, actually putting it in is a whole other task.
James Sheehan , let me know how it goes I have 1 blown now
Honestly, just go for another speaker, this is really too much work for no reason. get some 6.5 subwoofers and save some time and money.
Karl. I was tirelessly looking for somewhere to place my sub then came across this video. I actually have the same exact sub. Got to the end of the video and couldn’t locate part 2. Please update us on the cutting and the final install. At some point I found my stock amp and it wasn’t functioning, took it out. Will this setup require another amp?. Thanks.
I just ordered those speakers and I'm doing this to my 2006 Crossfire. The speakers haven't come yet but I'll post how it went. Still concerned about cutting the bracket properly. Thanks for the red and grey wire + designation that is a time saver and also that they'll work as is without sodering.
How did the install go,how does it sound?
