Top 5 Problems Customers Face When Buying A Post Frame Building.
is the post sleeve made to go into concrete or just dirt in the hole.?
Honestly mainly for dirt but you could definitely use for concrete as well.
How do you keep the panels plumb?
It starts with framing and getting your building level and square. Then getting your base trim level. Also starting square with your building. That starts you out right and then everything should run right. I stick enough screws in that they don't move once they are up there.
do I need footer in the ground? im building 16x26 shed basically and didn't wanna have to dig cause I cant get equipment there and its hard ledge in the ground. I want top use the tuff block system and build a deck on them, then build the pole barn style shed off the deck. Is that ok to do or do I have to worry about it shifting and moving. thanks
I would just build kinda like a portable building. Build your floor first and then just lag either your posts to the floor and joists or do a stud wall. Either way should be fine.
Can you get it in log size?
Not sure. Best way to find out would be to go on the Post Protector website and call them and ask.
Do ypu build all over the state?
@@Wyomingchippewa mostly. Where you located at?
Tyvek does nothing for an unsheathed pole barn, we do this at cleary its just an up sell to add money to tje bottom line.
It mainly just keeps it from condensation. And helps with dust and air seal. Plus it's very cheap.
@YellowstonePostFrame cleary uses ot as a mark up it doesn't seal without any backing I've been a GC for 30 years.
@YellowstonePostFrame are yall hiring? I have 30+ years and work for cleary now
If ypur putting up that Manny trusses just add a couple more and illuminate perlins
Wow I can't type sorry lol
@@WyomingchippewaYou could. I have run material cost both ways, 4 ft on center trusses with 2x4 purlins and 2 ft on center trusses with 5/8 OSB. A 40x60 you save about $4,000 doing 4 ft on center.
Dat ain’t how Amish folks raise a barn yall but nice looking work
Yea they would have 20 guys on it. I grew up Amish so I thought it was fitting.
@ 220 guys is more like it but ya know wat im talking bout
I hope that its lathe or he's gonna have a hard time taking it off
Another racist stealing jobs from undocumented citizens
You can’t spread your legs and walk when the pucker factor hits
Nice cardboard walls
Bravo Picasso
The window clearly says on the instructions.. supposed to be hanging on yhe side flanges..not sitting on the bottom.. but you think you are Picasso installing windows
Can we get more bracing. Im talking 20 footers anchored into a steak situation inside. Hopefully that shit dont blow over or sail away
If you put permanent bracing in like we do you don't need to do all that. We do leave our temporary truss to bottom of posts braces on till metal is on.
Smart. Using the wind to his advantage. Notice we only see him doing the sides where the wind is in his favor.
One side it blew in. The other side it blew out. Wind wasn't to bad. Honestly if it's to windy it will just rip off so you gotta kinda wait till it's fairly calm.
No plywood???
Not on this one. Some people want it and some don't.
@ I didn’t realize there was an option 😂😂
@@kingmouse9292This is a pole barn. Most pole barns actually don't have it on them.
@ ahhh I’ve never built one. Thank you for the explanation! 🫡🫡💯
That's a badass dude! I dare anyone else out there to do it alone like that And it looks like a windy day Damn! Hes good
They are doing so much hard working just to be doing all of that there's no way that I could be doing all of that that's a lot of hard-working😢
This is EXTREMELY Impressive doing this with no lift. I'm almost 47 and did a lot of this type of work when I was young, and my knees and back remind me about it often. Loving the content.
Thanks. It's a little harder but not bad. For me it's faster too.
Get it son
Well i mean the worst you can do is try. Reminds me of my days trimming king palms in a 60ft bucket lift, suckers were sketchy af at full boom so to limit moving it we just monkeyed on out of the bucket after gently wedging it against the tree to stabilize it. Didnt mind the harness so much as i did tipping potential. Never had "omaha" show up fortunately haha
We fired framers that were afraid of heights or we put them in basement doing frost walls
If you are afraid of getting hurt in the construction industry you might as well quit. 🤷 #dontbealittlebitch
No roof decking? You just put that plastic stuff right on the purlins? And, what is it, that you unrolled up there under the roof metal? PS.. when you do post those professionally videoed ones, PLS post them in the order of building. I get confused trying to figure out which one of yours follows which other one of yours on the same building process. I think using many different titles helps that confusion.
I put OSB down on the purlins sometimes when people want it or it's in a high wind area. It isn't necessarily needed tho. The wrap I put on was just the Titanium underlayment. It's pretty tough just by itself. And yes I plan on putting those videos in order and creating a playlist.
OSHA would like a word.
I'm sure they would.
Never heard of a harness?
We have. But we refuse to wear them. We know the risk.
@YellowstonePostFrame natural selection is beautiful.
@@mikejohnston80Yes sir it is. So is getting a barn built faster than most people can fathom. 😮
@YellowstonePostFrame wow that will such a tale to tell from a wheelchair.
@@mikejohnston80You're right. But life isn't fun if you don't take risks. We may also be adrenaline junkies 🤷
More than 5ft and no climbing harness. This isn't Omaha approved gosh darnit
Osha*
You dang right it ain't. We also don't care. Just saying.
Mutual bank of Omaha does not approve lol

The belt looks great
I'm getting ready to build one of these. Liked the spacer board idea to place your girts.
Awesome. Should hopefully have my more in depth videos up before too long. The spacer makes it easy to do it by yourself.
Way to move forward in the industry. Those who dont might get left behind.❤
It's definitely the way the industry seems to be going. I will say it isn't as cheap but is better for longevity.
Do your trusses sit on top of your post in a notch. Or are they able to rest beside the post?
I cut out an outside ply of the 3 ply Post. So the truss sits on top of that ply and gets nailed in the other 2 plys.
Love the format...love your helpers breakdown too. Love the bloopers. Added music in some places but none in others worked well for me. Good instruction, demonstration, and real life construction. ❤
Thanks. I wanna get more in depth. But to be honest I don't like slowing down.
Honest opinion...i think you will get more subscribers if you lengthen the videos.
Im hoping to have a full time video guy in the near future so I can do a lot more content.
I'm planning a 30x50 build myself. What size are your posts? and how deep in the ground are they?
Awesome. They are 3 ply 2x6 gluelam posts. They are 4 to 5 feet in the ground.
depends on frostline,3 feet in missouri, they will settle if you dont put a concrete cookie or pour 3 incghes of concrete in the hole!l had it happen,
Good job! Why just you 2
i hope you're going to video this build step by step. It also wouldn't hurt to tell us WHY you're doing things as you do them
Sorry about that. I do have videos of an entire build step by step. I had a professional camera crew out on site for that one. They are still editing them. Hopefully I can get them on here soon.
Just use concrete oats and do away with that thing.
Concrete oats?
This is not haw you you du it i been building rocket's for 600 years and i know everything better
Awesome! I hear Elon Musk is hiring. 🚀🚀
Keyboard experts be like😂
Are those brackets made in Kickapoo Illinois?
Not sure. It's the Sturdi-wall brackets. I have gotten them from that place in the past. Now I get them from a big local supplier but I'm guessing that's where they got them from.
Just my 2 cents worth opinion. I watch to learn. You didnt say a word here. IDK if you pre marked these or marked the trusses, just to watch someone work and not learn anything isnt really that impressive. I think you should get some ideas from RR Building
Thanks for the input. I did pre mark the trusses. I'm kind of an introvert and this is how I work. This was back when I first started doing UA-cam. I didn't talk much bc I felt awkward. I have since gotten way more comfortable talking so I try to talk more. I recently shot a bunch of content where I talked a lot and went in depth. Still in editing but almost done. Love Kyle got to meet him in person a while back. He is the reason I started my own channel.
Pumping tho if you look inside the "pump," it's more like pushing, definitely not pouring 😊
Thanks! I did not know that! So informational! Lol
Big fking deal, what are you saying, you are pouring the world? Looks like some small town shit to me
Somebody piss in your cereal this morning? 🤔 Just showing our customers and potential customers how we do it.
@@YellowstonePostFrame the original saying is "did somebody piss in your Cheerios this morning"?, has been around since the 60's, but thanks for reminding me
I don't understand why that hose has too be that high and long...😮
I believe it's so it has more lateral reach. They don't like setting up twice.
The mexican guys in El Paso are pouring at 3 AM.
Awesome! Send em to Wyoming!
@@YellowstonePostFrame I don't live there any more. Got a promotion and moved back to FL. The area I lived in was being built up and the were pouring commercial slabs all everyday. I left to go to work at 0330 and they were already out there pouring. I'm sure you could go down there and hire them.
HECK YA
