IWAC Aquifer Modeling and Water Quality Class Part 2. Seth Oliver describes differences between 3 dimensional numeric modeling and analytical models applied in the Spokane Valley Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer. Seth explains how models have been used historically and how how a model update could help both regulators and water purveyors. Seth is the Idaho DEQ Hydrogeologist for the Coeur d’Alene regional office providing groundwater expertise and technical support for water quality and groundwater regulation in the Idaho portion of the SVRP aquifer, contaminated site resolution, remediation and solid waste management, and public outreach for Idaho’s 5 northern counties. Experiences include the Technical Services Division of the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, Project Hydrogeologist for SLR Consulting in Anchorage, AK and a Staff Geologist for the Massachusetts Geological Survey.
