WipEout Intro Cinematic Remake
This is a remake of the intro cinematic used for the first Wipeout game title on both PS1 and Sega Saturn. Still love those games and of course the related soundtracks as well!
I originally started to work on that way back in 2009 but dropped the project for various reasons.
In 2021 I got back to it after finding some old files related to it on my hard drives. I built everything new from scratch, of course technology has come so much further in the meantime as well. It uses a few kitbash sets, which was not really a thing back in 2009.
It was done predominantly in 3dsmax and V-Ray, with additional stuff from Houdini and Renderman.

I think a remake of the PS1 WipEout games would lose it's charm. PS1 WipEout has that futurism with HUGE vibes from the early 2000s especially with the low poly graphics that is very different compared to the later new gen console releases, But well, I think it's also a good idea, since what all they did is remastering the later games more back then.

I was still playing this on the PS even when the xbox 360 was out with my mates telling me to stop playing that piece of junk !, the music on this was awesome - really need to get into a trance to go full speed without collision at full speed, one of the best racing games period ! hmm there is a Phantom Edition gonna get onto that this weekend, perhaps a remake should be crowd funded . . . take my money, but build in cockpit view for use with a sim rig and or VR set ( Apple Vision ) . . . crowd funding should be able to get the license for the original tracks . . . someone needs to contact Sony to get the license for crowd funding

The first five WipEout games (the original, 2097, 64, 3 and Fusion) all need to be remade with PS5-quality graphics, sounds and physics, and this reimagined intro gives me a little bit of hope!

I could imagine the remake of the first 2 games on UE5...🤔 PS1 has lot of own IP's...PS2 continued the trend. Sony should bring back the old school IP's from the 90's again. unfortunately...PS5 is SONY's strongest console and boring without interesting games at the same time.

Other than the fact that logos (Assegai) and branding from other teams ("Future-Proof", "Race for E-Unity") are on an AG-Systems ship, this is an amazing tribute to OG WipEout.
Sony should use this for a remake or remaster.

1 word to describe this: perfect. I wonder if you will make a Wipeout 3 intro remake or Wipeout 2097. That would be beyond perfection
I will do Wip3out intro at some point. It is in the planning stage. No plans to redo the 2097 / XL one though.

Wip3out intro is in planning stages. No plans for a remake of the 2097 one. I think its still perfect.
