Переглядів 264 тис.11 років тому
This is the second video that I made doing this exact same thing...I did this one with a better camera. I apologize for the wind noise, didn't realize how windy it was outside. Comment with any questions, and I will reply!! Thanks for watching!!

Переглядів 165 тис.11 років тому
This video is how to change out the #7 spark plug on a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado LT, 5.3L V8. I apologize for the moments that the camera was a little shaky. Hopefully it helps! Thanks for watching!
Darn good video bro. I have the same problem with my 08 LTZ, so wanted to watch somebody doing it, and now I know exactly what to expect, easy easy, gonna tackle it. Thanks for a no nonsense video!
I did exactly that and now I have. A heck engine light and the truck idles a bit more than usual. It’s a misfire but what did I do wrong. I know the plugs are correct because I wouldn’t have been able to screw them all the way in. Any thoughts will help.
Muy bien gracias amigo
Thanks Okie boy!
Thanks very good information
Thank you so much for explaining about the door handle that's what throwed me off.
I ppu
Gm really screwed the pooch on there new door panel / handle design , a proper way would be to fasten the interior door handle to the door and build the interior panel around it , they must have had new guys design that garbage
Thank you amigo
I guess I’m different I have to do all this with the door closed because my hand broke and now I can’t get my door open
Will a 08 suburban 1500 rear door fit a 11 Silverado 1500???
Great help thank you..
Great video thanks
Thanks! Ima do all four windows as a preventative measure.
I trying to take the pane off with the door shut because the door opening mechanism broke so I’m going to try getting enough movement to open the door before continuing with the full removal.
Thanks on the video, I hope you survived the tornado.
Great Video Thanks!!! I have a 2008 Chevy Siverado that I bought 8 months ago had 145k miles on it now I have 176k and the idle is at 500 and when I slow down tyo a stop it feels like it will stall but hasnt yet. pick up is a little bit slower. I just bought he Bosch Double Iridium spark plugs. going to put the in tomorrow. will this help. I dont know when the spark plugs were changed last.
Thank you! Hope it helps!
Thanks for taking the time! Big help!
Great video, huge help. P.s. put some foam over the microphone to reduce wind noise.
This is how to video at its finest. I have to replace cable and instead of paying mechanic 200 for parts and labor all I have to do is order cable from Chevrolet for 70 bucks and now I can put on myself. I could not get panel off my Silverado after wrestling with it for an hour. I was so frustrated I came close to ripping it off. I missed a few important steps on how to get off. Good video. Ty
Thank you very much! Glad it helped!
help me a lot gracias!!
Gracias vato
Are you kidding me. I'm concerned that everyone who saw this, actually did it that way.
I'm sorry. Not sure what I did that was so awful...
Great video how'd you change handle and lock though?
Thanks for the vid. I knew that door handle trim had to come off but I was afraid to break it. Customer vehicle..... thumbs up
Would recommend using anti seize on threads.
Only if using oem or acdelco. Companies like NGK strongly recommend not using it
Thanks. My speakers, like most people's have finally gone to tweeters only and I can't deal with that. Like others said, thanks for no music or other wastes of time.
Thanks man. Saved 2 hours. Basic no bs instruction. Thank you
,I
thanks brother, both my front factory speakers are shot. this will save me some $$.
Do you have to remove the whole door panel to replace a speaker? Or is there a way to pop the speaker grill off and access the speaker without removing the whole panel?
As far as I know, you have to remove the whole panel. It has been a while since I have done it, but it seems like there wasn't any way to do it without removing the panel.
Thats how you do instruction videos. To the point and know what your doing. No stupid music playing. No talking to your dog or your horse. No history lessons. We are Americans we dont care about its history. Great video cowboy.

I used a swivel and a 21 inch extension and it was super easy. On the passenger side I just pulled the wheel and liner and again very easy.
Did the same, no harm using a air Ratchet..
Great viedo, thanks
I got the panel off, that was fun with the door closed , the outside handle is not connected, but even manually moving the rod does nothing the leavers are moving at the mecanism . I guess I'm off to the dealer
thanks for the info I have a 08 2500hd lt and the rear doors won't open their is nothing connected to the handle , feels like anyway thank god the seats fold up I can hear the actuators working but only with the fob nothing happens with the door buttons I checked the fuses everyone of them is ok any ideas
I'm guessing just based on what you've described there is something wrong with the door handle itself? Have you attempted taking the back door panel off to look?
Excellent video!...I am getting ready to replace 3 of these junk lock actuators in my 08 chevy silverado Very good demonstration, I feel confident now how to tackle this job Thanks so much buddy
The tool he uses is called heavy duty spark plug pliers
Thanks Okie for this vid...it is the only one out there showing the panel removal
really nice person and very intelligent I was looking for a video to explain in detail including the firing order and this guy did. thanks bro!!
Thanks. I needed this today to replace my mirror. I watched another video for a truck that had a different door panel. You showed me that the top front handle had two more bolts that needed to come out.
S
how about # 6 & 8?
Lifesaver!!! Thank you for posting this!
Horrible camera angles. Horrible explanations. "Right here, right there, right here, right there"
Mwp what do want him to put the camera right up on his hands lmao I don't see how it could be anymore instructional.
Nice video. Did you say the original gap for the spark plug was .04? If you got 168,000 on the originals that's real good. Doing maintenance on your own truck after paying it off years ago & spending a little money to keep it going is still gratifying.
Ben Rogers Should be .045"
Is this 5.3 one of the AFM (Active Fuel management,) engines? My '07 Suburban is throwing cyl#8 misfire and I'm about to attempt changing that plug. Any suggestions beyond plug change to solve this issue?
+Ryan Hull might be the wires or the ignition coil
Estupidos
No need to disconnect the battery just to perform a tune up. Plugs don't have current unless your vehicle is running. No real danger of damaging anything with the battery connected. You run more of risk breaking a plug or a coil tube, than burning something up. Now, if you were changing out the alternator, you'd be a goober to leave your battery connected.
