I never knew it was a tradition. Interesting. Do you tend to eat at a takeaway or get something to go on the way home ... or go out to eat with colleagues after work instead of having dinner at home with family? What do you prefer to do? 🌻✌🏻😎
I often get something to go on the way home. Eating out for me is a luxury and is usually happens on a special occasion. You ought to visit Jamaica if you have not already done so.
@@onestopculturaltoursja A long time ago I visited Jamaica with a friend who had been there many times and then married his Jamaican girlfriend. He stayed there, I flew back to Germany after 3 months (because of a 3-month tourist visa) & never came back, although I loved your beautiful island very much. I hope it works out in November/December this year.
@@onestopculturaltoursja I've just discovered your channel and have already subscribed. It's good to learn about traditions like this. I'd also be interested in the prices of some things and whether you can afford them as a "normal earner"? You can go out to eat here every now & then even if you're on a low income, but only unhealthy junk food. I'd rather save the money and cook myself, so can go to dinner in a restaurant for something good every now & then. 🌻✌🏻😎

I have been living here for a while and regularly cook at home, especially ground provisions such as sweet potato, yam, green banana, etc. Eating out can be expensive, especially when having a fish meal. Like you state, one tends to eat out on special occasions as the cost of living in Jamaica is high.

Yes, breezy but nice. For those unable to venture to the north coast, this is a viable option for anyone visiting or staying in Kingston.

Thank you. I had heard about this beach for a while and had to visit. It's a place one could visit wuth friend's., chill. Relax and order fresh fish, bamny, and juices, in advance, from the shop on the nbeach.
@@onestopculturaltoursja It looks so fresh & windy, similar to ours in northern Germany. But of course the Caribbean is not comparable to the North Sea or the Baltic Sea. As a northerner, I am a little afraid of the heat, but otherwise I am very much in love with Jamaica.❤
