ive been caught in a tornado back in 2006 on highway 267 about 3-4 miles north of greenfield il, ended up being f-1 rated and was rain wrapped, most scary but thrilling experience and ive always wanted to go on a actual tornado storm chase sense that moment

With winds that high (mph), I always park into the wind. The vehicles are designed for that strong & stronger wind blasts when facing it. Even if you're under a pavillion, parked sideways, you can still be blown over. I remember this storm but by the time it got to my house, it had dissipated.

Experienced my first Derecho in Houston, Texas two months ago. After living 27 years In Florida and experiencing several Cat 3 to 5 hurricanes, it was intense but much weaker and shorter than a major hurricane.
