"Fremon gia nell'anima" - I couldn't watch beyond that point - because, focus on his mouth, what Corelli sings is Ahohoahaoh - No attempt - Corelli is conveying only those vowels which he thinks sound best coming from his throat. Not romance, bot falling in love but LISTEN TO ME!. Now, this is not about modulating the vowel on a top C or B - but just not singing anything at all on a Ab for goodness sake. And yes - sometimes he was thrilling - but even that elongated phrase in the Tosca A3 aria - told you he was a singer who was about himself - and not about the music.
