At one time I owned a C. Sharps, a Shiloh, and a Pedersoli. Shiloh uses cast receivers and the other two use actual forgings like they did in the 1800's. Today if done right a casting is just as good as a forging but I prefer forgings. I could not tell a difference in quality so I sold the Shiloh for a nice profit. I then later sold the C. Sharps. All I have now is the Pedersoli. As far as I'm concerned, all three are about the same fit, finish, and quality wise. They are all hand fitted and hand built by real artisans. And unless you want something custom you can go pick up a Pedersoli off the shelf or order it in stock today. I waited over two years for my C. Sharps.
Fantastic precision workmanship, make me want to buy one.
This was such a pleasure to watch. I’ve been pining for one for too long.
Nice work sir
What I think about is the machines the gunsmiths had to build these rifles in 1860s thru the 1890s.
Nice Rifles but not worth 4 grand 😂
👍😎
I see the receivers are cast, I wonder how strong they'd be, maybe as originally designed for black powder, but would they stand up safely to the modern smokeless powder loadings like 45-70,45 & 50-120
I have a sharps but it's Italian made accurate and it's finish is decent
I can not wait for my build to be done.
I loved that they used the quigley down under sound track
We did not see how the rifling was done?
didn t show factory test fireing
I hope to order mine very soon. Hope to be able to enjoy it when it finally arrives..
It was great on mute.
Amazing craftsmanship !
gorgeous rifles! the Holland & Holland of American rifles!
Super, und dann noch diese Musik 🎶 fühle mich fast wie auf der Jagd in Montana 💪💪💪👍💓💓💓 fasziniert durch und durch, mit Demut erfüllt 💓
I've actually been to the Shiloh Sharps factory I've seen their their show room and it's very impressive! They are located in Big Timber, Montana.
Good grief! Get rid of your stupid music. it doesnt make our viewing experience any better than if having got to hear the actual sounds of the machinery, tooling, processes, etc
It makes me really think of the craftsmanship they had to do back when they were first being made. I mean what did they do when they didn't have all the machines?
Probably working on mine now or very soon. Very nice seeing the process of these being made with great hand craftsmanship. Being a retired machinist, I can appreciate the beautiful finished rifle. Thank you Shiloh Sharps for keeping the tradition alive.
Love seeing qualified, competent women on the tools. You know every one of those barrels are flawless.
I don't have one of these Sharps , but I got close with 2 Pedersolis' , 1874 Sharps and 1873 Springfield . One day ...
Well, clearly very nice weapons. Am I more informed than I was before I came here? NO! An informative, verbal description would make this video more worth the watch. As I said at the outset,' nice' - Now I need to find how the 'real' artisans made the damned things Pre all of this CAT overload! Peace.
Folks, this is so neat! I dream of having one someday!
I'm trying to imagine all these steps being done by hand, without electricity and not very good lighting in the 1860s. Pretty amazing.
Ordered My Quigley Model 45/110 this December 2021 looking forward holding it in the future!
What's the lead time for a standard model? I want one in 45-70 plain jane. Action strength on 45-70, how hot can you safely load these rifles?
That’s it! I’m ordering one!
The making of the rifles was probably the best thing about this video combined with the music.
My dream rifle. Unfortunately and rightly so they are too pricy for me ever to obtain one. What master pieces they are!!!!
Great video I have one rifle and can't wait for my new to get completed.
What they use bedding material with all of that technology they can't inlet the wood so it fits
Glass or epoxy bedding is optional. Besides perfect metal to stock fit, bedding is also about stability. As wood fibers take on and give up moisture, they do so unevenly, same is true with respect to the wood's response to the heating and cooling of the barrel.
Now that’s real craftsmanship that’s hard to find.
Sharps rifles, the gun that made the west safe enough for Winchesters....
Knowing nothing about the workings of metal manufacturing, the lack of narrative or subtitles left me utterly puzzled. I had hope to learn how barrels are made and these presenters have advanced my understanding not a whit.
it was to show how its made, not to show you how to make it, but yes it would have been nice to know some of the steps with a bit more info
Finally l have the pleasure of aguiring a truly beautiful piece of American tradition. This is something I have dreamed of for a long time. And to actually find one. These are truly works of art. I'm so pleased to finally own this wonderful piece of history. Luv it...
I love the video-especially the usage of music scores that sounds VERY close to some you heard in later John Wayne westerns.
I was just watching Quigley Down Under, music was played throughout the movie. It starts off with this music.
I'd love to own one and use the heck out of it as intended. After a decade I doubt that it would still be as pretty as those beauties in the video.
Show the making of the pewter fore end cap.
I'm planning on getting one. Custom order. With an extra 4" on the barrel. And lots of engraving.
2021??
I like them only negative part is they are limited how much pressure they can take my win 1886 I can push up the velocity from a 45/90
They are a piece of art
From an engineering point of view I enjoyed watching the manufacturer of the rifle. It disappointed me to see all the pathetic, small penis, trophy hunters at the end.
Damn bro, show us on the doll where the internet hurt you.

What caliber is a Sharps
many chamberings, but the standard one are of the .45 family, 45 70 45 90 45 110 45 120
Get rid of the music
narration rather than music would have been better.
I second that. Cool movie , watched it in the theater. But some narration of the process would have been nice.
at 5:10 look how deep the guy is breathing
