Yeah the worst thing g I found was a crack pipe, it was a glass tube but it had a metal screen in it, under the wood chips in a tot lot, I didn't even want to put it in my pouch, I chucked it into the tree line

I’ve found two brass knuckles. A brass one on a curb strip 5 inches down and some Zombie Knuckles in the wet sand at the beach.

Tesoro was a great metal detector company. Their detectors were very stable and they would repair their detectors free even if you didn't buy it new. Someone gave me a broken Tesoro Sand Shark and Tesoro fixed it free. The only cost was mailing it in, they paid the return postage! Who does that? As for depth, I used many brands and some were technically deeper but in actual hunting situations I found more with my Tesoro machines (the Silver, the DeLeon, etc.). I'd hunt an area with a lot of electrical interference and put my Fisher away and hunt with the Tesoro. After 40 plus years of THing my best memories are when I used the various Tesoro models.

DeLeon for sure. Great detector. Just not waterproof. So I also have a Xterra Pro for beach.

If it can use 1.3v batteries get some IKEA LADDA batteries, they are rechargable the 1900mAh ones can be recharged 1000 times and the 2450mAh ones can cycle 500 times

bought legion used came with two pairs of head phones wireless wired one was the old kind part of the shaft was metal but really not that heavy for the price i payed for it why buy new when a used price was better

live in a house built in 1890 have not run out of targets here some thing about 40 khz with the legion run over with mine lab etrac minelab 600 Garett at pro with 12-inch coil but did find a brass adjuster old kerosene lamp

Just bought myself a tesoro silver sabre plus. I have a nokta legend as well, but there is something special about these old analog machines.

I've done a similar test with my Legend and a Tesoro Sidewinder. The Tesoro will find a lot but you did way too much foil trash vs. the Legend. You also need to overlap your sweeps with the concentric coil on the Tesoro (and Fisher) or you miss targets at depth. The Legend did unmask several targets that the Tesoro could not hit, and depth was superior by several inches. One method you can try is to mark targets with golf tees. Then scan with the other detector. That way you can really see the difference. I would scan with the Legend first if it were me. Cool test, thanks for posting. Bill

I made more money coin roll hunting than metal detecting, because i stumbled on a collection dump of 4 rolls of silver in one box, and then i soent about $2000 canadain on metal detecting stuff, 2 detectors and all the gear

Im pretty interested in the fisher cz21, but im not 2000 dolars interested, why dont the price come down on old detectors, its not just fisher it seems like all of them

I think itln some ways its easier using tesoro. You can spend alot of time deciphering VDI numbers and tones and stuff and still end up with junk. Haha. But i like my fancy machines too. Tesoro just fun

I currently have 11 tesoros. Never getting rid of any of them lol. Finally got a set of knee pads. Took me 8 years but knees are crying every season.

Ahhh love the tesoros. Especially the hole-grill older ones with the higher pitch beep. Alot of information in that one beep being analog. Round, scratchy, smacking, double beep close to coil/ring, abbreviated, etc.

Alex here from the UK. A very experienced detectorist that has used all the Tesoro's, Garrett's and have ended up with the XP ORX. However, I must say that the machine you are currently using is, in my humble opinion, the best detector ever made. It is an excellent 6" max coin finder but unfortunately can't match the depth of the modern machines. I really miss my Silver. Happy hunting buddy.

ya why are these detectors so silent is it the way circit board cause maybe printed circets let more interfernce in not realy sure

still think alnog detectors are nice no vdi get lots of digging in still own garett freedom ace plus whites idx pro nothing like detctors on a budget

I still like my Tesoro DeLeon. The only thing I don't like about it is 8 AA batteries.

Got to love the Tesoro's. I've got a Vaquero, a Cibola, a Mojave, an Outlaw, and a Lobo S.T. They are smooth and quiet machines and don't have all the background chatter. You're lucky to have the Silver Saber Umax. You can't find them anywhere since Tesoro shut down.

In canada we had silver till 1968, the first half the year in 68 was 50% silver, the second half of the year was 99% nickel Was hunting a ripped out sidewalk, only coin signal I got was a 1968 dime, I could have sworn it was silver in the field because it looked toned, but nope, it was just a dirty toned nickel one when I got home 😅 2023 was my first year with a detector, I only found 2 silver dimes, people inmy general geographic location say all the silvers have been cherry picked out, but I hold out hope to find some

Do you go back to the same sites your running your analog machines with your newer detectors as well?

Loads are returning back to anologue detectors got no unreliable I'd numbers bouncing around every were , all these added bells and whistles ect ,with these anologue detectors it beep, dig it , make ya wonder how many people have missed a top find cos unreliable ID number s
