Really good perspectives, James. You've come such a long way in such a short time. I can sense your depression melting as you find interests and some freedom in life. I am praying that depression will continue to melt away as you grow and spread your wings. So much of the anxiety that young people are struggling with is from that soul-battle of just growing up in this shattered world. If you can survive, you can eventually THRIVE. Thanks for the Suicide Prevention plug, and encouraging other teens to reach out to friends they see losing in their struggles.You never know just how much your kind word and a hand on the shoulder can mean to someone on the downward slope.

I've watched one of your videos and I just want you to know that God sees your struggles and that He cares so deeply for you. God desires a relationship with you. He wants to be your father and your friend. God showed His love for us in that while we were still sinners, He sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins. Jesus bore our sin on the cross, died, and rose again three days later, all so that whoever believes in Him can have eternal life. God created us to experience His unfailing love and His goodness. just became a freshman, and i think my start has been pretty good. in 8th grade i was improving a lot but even now it seems so different from how i am. i struggle way less with depression and social anxiety, and i joined extracurriculars and have a lot of friends. i still am very stressed because i'm an ap and accelerated student (the classes are fine, ots really just the homework), but i guess it can push me to manage my time better.

Ya i understand. I used to feel something similar. It led to me not knowing who i was or even who i should be. I didn't belong anywhere anymore. I realised that i wasnt happy anymore when i was with the people i loved the most and i didnt miss who i used to miss. And eventually i didn't feel anything at all, like i was apithetic. I did start feeling better for a while but i can feel it slowly coming back. (Edit): it's actually really shocking how relatable this is. And I don't mean this in a funny joking type of way. Like it is actually shocking. I didn't know that there was someone that actually feels and is going through the exact same thing as me.

I started high school as a freshman on August 8, and I feel like it hasn't even hit me that I'm in high school yet. Like it's almost been a full month and every single time someone says, "omg youre getting so much older! high school?" it shocks me that they said high school bc it feels like I'm not that mature and that im a child still but im actually not. at the same time, i just wanna get out of it, it's so nerve wrecking. I'm ready for college but not at the same time.

One good thing with college is you can take as few or as many classes at a time as you want....granted the fewer the classes you take each year the longer it'll take to get your certificate or degree depending on what you are going after....but for some they want the class load, others want to take a class or two and work part time or full time to not end up in serious debt in the end. I never went to college, although I do have a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certificate to work on Cisco networks...never used that either LOL. I did that my senior year of high school as a dual enrollment course, got high school and college credits for it. Also took a small business management certificate course as well a couple years later. Some of the course material you can do online and then just go to the campus for the lab stuff....some you have to be in class all the time....just one of those things just like high school, some days you just don't wanna be there, and don't know if you want to keep going. For some, its just that life gets in their way and they end up dropping out of college, some go back later, some never do....the thing is for many it would be best to just do it and get it over with....others never really leave even after they get their certificate or degree, they keep going, and keep getting more certifications and degrees....there's nothing wrong with that either as long as their financial ability lets them and as time allows....some like it some hate it...its just like school regardless LOL. Keeping on top of your courses and assignments is the key to getting through college...that and good study habits....while everyone else is out partying go find a place to sit and study there's always time to go hang out and have fun, but regular school days are not those times.

As a freshman in highschool, im already drained. i know im not gonna make it far. when 8th grade ended, i was still pretty depressed. but as the moths passed i started feeling whole again. Now im back in school, starting my freshman year. Ive bawled my eyes out every day of it. everyone has friends, everyone looks great, everyone can laugh. So almost a month ago i stopped eating. the first 4 days i drank nothing but water, i lost over 14 pounds.. so i ate a protien bar one night and did another 4 days.. and over it went. ive felt weak for the past month. i stumble in school and im beginning to become unhealthy, i went from 187 to 142 in a month. i just told people i worked out. i really need a healthy way to maintain this weight, because i'm hungry :(

I just started my sophomore year and already ready to be out man, at least I wont be going to college when I graduate, going straight to get my apprenticeship for carpentry, which usually only takes around 2 years

Honestly school right now for me is not going well. And with everything that’s going on in my personal life I’m wondering how do I even make it another day. I honestly at times just want to take a break from everything but I don’t think it’s possible for me anymore
