What brand of diamond compound are you happy with?
Glad I bought this before it was discontinued!!! It’s awesome!
Amazing
I made my own handle using 1/2 copper straight tube . Works like a champ.
Where's the cotter pin replacer that you promised me? :)
Are you ever going to do a another run of saws?
If Bob ross did that, he'd have a mountain scene on the leather...
Don't overdo!!! 😅
Recognized your voice ❤
I would like to buy your backpacking saw but your website isn't active anymore. I just saw this for the first time and realize it's 3 years after you made this video!
Youre the dude doing "OUTDOORS55". I find your videos very informative. Thank you for creating and sharing.
Is this the same guy as OUTDOORS55?
No
Actually maybe it is. He has the exact same accent. But what is weird is that in this video and in the comments he says he likes 1 or 3 grit Compound. But in outdoors555's video he recommends 6 to 8 grit compound.
Actually, yes it definitely is. It says so in the video description.
Yes🙂👍
What's the price
Should you clean this strop after putting emulsion on it?? How do you clean emulsion
No. You want the paste to stay on it.
@@intensecutn but over time using the .4 emulsion paste and it builds up with blade debree and gets almost slick then the strop doesnt work as good? how do you clean it to almost start over
The Warder Ultralight Folding Saw
My saw was under 3oz so less than half the weight. and they took the concept from me😂
And when you’ve finished applying paste with a razor blade, the razor blade will be razor sharp.
Wait a minute, I know that voice!😄
Where'd you go?????? We need more str0ps and diamond paste!!!!!
Are you still selling this saw? I'm interested in buying one.
The ONLY way I'd buy a wood cutting saw with a blade that short for the bush, would be if it were a folding saw like my 10" Corona Folding Saw! Thanx for the video my Bladed Brother 👍 ⚔️ ✝️ 🇺🇲
I wish I watched this before I put diamond compound all over my strop and caked it everywhere with my finger. In the end, a few drops of water helped me spread it evenly and it seems to be working just fine.
A nicely done video!
Nice , but why not a larger tube to fit the saw
Do you ship to Europe? I want to buy this saw
Good job from lao
Where can I buy your saw
There is even lighter ones for about a third of the price on Esty
Its not lighter
You can buy a replacement quick change lifting rod for a jigsaw for like 8 bucks. Throw a handle on it and it's smaller, lighter & cheaper than this.
Except its not lighter..
Hello Dear friend, I'm looking for a Leather Holding Block like the one that you used in the video with the grooves on the side. And can't find it anywhere. The store on the video is not working. Any info will be appreciated. You are a knife 🔪 Master. Thank's, Beni.
Hi, great design and very informative video...and it works perfectly and the low cost..Best regards from Antalya..
the website is down, is this saw still available?
Your website doesn’t work.
It's currently down for maintenance, will be back up at some point.
$ ?
Budy of mine glued is strop to a brick lol. I thought it was stupid till i used it.
As a construction worker and an outdoorsman... not only do I support this idea, I also can verify, those Diablo blades are wicked and do last a long time. I have wondered why those wood saws didn’t incorporate these types of blades. Great idea man. My suggestion fr covering the blade when carrying would be to carry a small piece of pipe with a cap on both ends that holds the blade and handle, maybe 1.5” pvc? Nice job man.
Man if you make another run I’d buy one
What’s the best way to remove diamond compound and clean and maintain your strop ? I applied 3000 grit diamon compound on my kangaroo leather strop, , stroped two knives and its already turning very black. ( slight noob here obvi lol )
I second this comment - would love an answer!
I would like to know this as well. I heard some black is good, on the smooth side of the leather it almost gets a sticky feel once some friction and heat is created after a few minutes working the knife over it. How much I'm unsure, but I have yet to clean mine and it seems to still perform just fine.
Since you've discontinued it, would you be willing to share a few details on making it, specifically whether you used off the shelf or machined bushings?
I used custom machined bushings. The dimensions have to be very precise in order for the blade to work properly. The other end bushing that the "stick" twisted against also has to be made properly to keep it from unwinding after it's tightened. There was more that went into making it than it appears.🙂
Where can I get one of these? Seems like your website is down
The websis down for maintenance and restructuring due to a recent move to another state. I should have everything back up and running this year sometime.🙂
Is it a few hundred since its considered ultralight
Damn nice music, what is it?
I'm mixing tools to make a belt hung saw. I think Diablo has top tier blades, but getting to use them was a challenge, until now. I bought a Delta 25mm utility knife. Took it apart. Opened the width of the mouth to allow for the Diablo blades, 6":. It was a little fiddling, but it worked. Then drilled another hole in front of the sawzall style back of blade. That hole is big enough for the Dewalt blade holder. So now the blades can be used in an electric saw or the Dewalt utility knife handle. I plan to carry a flat holder for the 6" Diablo blades and the Dewalt knife blade. Probably one wood blade and one hacksaw blade. That fits in a belt pouch I had from another tool. For EDC that is excellent. But for camping/survival I can have some of the longer blades in backpack or campsite, like the pruning blades, or spares. Another option is to make the bump on the utility blade holder slightly smaller so no drilling the blades is needed.
Great saw, love mine! But recently lost the cover...what was that?
Very innovative thinking to produce this handle. The concept is useful and shouldn't be abandoned because of technical production difficulties. The "ultralight" requirement for backpacking constrains the design. Slightly heavier tool handle options can be designed with lightweight and hollow configurations. The weight of extra steel blades is actually a serious limiting factor. 1 long sabre blade and several jigsaw blades are a more adaptable carry option.
Very useful, even better if it could hold hacksaw blades and jigsaw blades. Back of sabre saw blade could be a knife edge for double duty. Some Paracord materials do not stretch.
Those Diablo pruners are something special !
Try silky saw Gomboy 😁
I'm all in where do I buy it
You guys still selling this product?
Given you aren’t selling this item anymore can I ask you a question in regards to the carbon fiber tubing? Do you have any concerns with filament wound carbon fiber tuning and in your testing have you had an issue with wall thicknesses around 0.08”? 0.14” wall thickness looks more correct but I’m not familiar with carbon typing and don’t want to be under sized. Thanks.
I wonder 🤔 if Diablo will ever decide to make a bow saw blade my "Sven" saw.
