I made up a few of these record-able and amplified voice siren drivers. Here I show you how they connect and work.

I thought I would share some of the "Extra" security that I have on my own security system. Sadly burglars sometimes will attack the alarm system and if you haven't taken a few extra steps, they could kill your system and leave you a nasty surprise when you come home, mainly your home ransacked and your alarm torn up and no one knew about it. This helps to prevent that even though the burglar m...

So you decide to upgrade you alarm system to a talking siren only to discover that your alarm siren is not a speaker but a dual tone siren with a built in siren driver, what do you do now? Pull out the guts of the siren and change it to a speaker as shown in this video.

In an earlier Video I demonstrated how I made these boards and printed the circuits. Here is a working record-able voice siren module connected to a LYNXEN. The neat thing about this module is you can record it to say or sound anyway you wish.

Using a cheap ISD 1820 module with a few extra components you can create your own voice warning system. I put a motion sensor on my front porch along with a Honeywell transmitter and this voice module. I don't have to reply as it makes the announcement automatically and my existing alarm system notifies me. This video show the basics of how to build the voice module. It can be used with a PIR m...

For a DIY alarm system that can use the ELK voice siren with a Honeywell Lynx Touch. No extra power supplies simply add the siren module and connect it to the Elk Voice siren driver and power it all from the Lynx 9vdc power supply that your alarm system came with.

The built in siren of the Lynx Touch could use a little help, so I have added two power supplies and the FBI voice siren. Listen and hear how much better your alarm will work with this upgrade.

If you need to add a 30 watt siren to your Honeywell Lynx Touch alarm system but don't want to get bogged down building relay and power supply boxes, here is a simple easy solution for you.
Ron in the shop - External Siren module for Honeywell Lynxr or Lynxen
Переглядів 1,1 тис.5 років тому
If you have one of the older Lynx or Lynxr alarm panels and wish to use an extra wave2 siren here is a module to help you out. Some of the newer lynx en and lynx plus have 120mA siren (bell) output that will work, but other older panels only have about 50 mA that will not power the extra siren. Simple solution a module that uses the 9vac that powers the siren and then powers the siren.
Ron in the shop -DIY monitoring for Honeywell Lynx Touch alarm system with a Magicjack
Переглядів 6395 років тому
If you don't wish to pay an alarm company to monitor your alarm so that basically they can call you to tell you your alarm has gone off, you can monitor it yourself. The Lynx Touch connected to a magic jack will call you with a voice warning that your alarm has sounded and which zone was triggered. It can also tell you things like low battery trouble on the main control and on each of the trans...

DIY professional yard alarm and driveway security connected to a Honeywell Lynx Touch security system. If you aren't afraid to dig a little, you can put up fence post or use an existing fence post to mount these sensors on and start monitoring when someone enters your yard. Install power to the photo beams and mount a Honeywell 5816 below the beam and then program that transmitter as a general ...
Ron in the shop Lynx Touch DIY Siren and power supply
Переглядів 1125 років тому
Add a 30watt siren to your Lynx Touch and extra standby time to your alarm system should you have a power failure. With a 5 ah gel cell battery standby time after a power failure should run over 48 hours. 30 watt siren is loud enough that neighbors can hear when your alarm is sounding and is much louder than the built in siren that comes with your Lynx Touch.

      step 1) clip off siren driver step 2) attach diaphragm coil wires to amplifier step 3) attach amplifier to audio source I mean, if you cant figure that out, maybe just buy a prebuilt unit. Side note, the way we learned to mod stuff is by taking stuff apart. Start disassembling more stuff and youll figure it out....

    • @roboalarms2467
      @roboalarms2467 5 років тому

      @@dirtdevil7bo I have considered designing and building such a board, but it would have to be larger and require two recording chips. It might be easier and cheaper to build a small board that gives a different trigger output and then you could use any type of device for your alarm output. As an example one siren board with voice announcement and strobe light and yet another with just a burglary sound and no strobe light. The combinations would only be limited by your connections. I'll have that designed and printed in a few days.

    Hi Ron. I'm looking at you LYNXR siren driver board. I looks like a bridge on the front end and a regulated 9VDC on the output. I GUESSING you used a 7809 regulator? Can you share the details? Thanks, Jim Willson

    • @roboalarms2467
      @roboalarms2467 5 років тому

      Hi Jim. I didn't use a regulator such as a 7809 because the LYNXR is powered by a 9VAC transformer. After the Bridge rectifier the voltage is about 12VDC. The Opto-coupler I use to trigger the output then gives an output of about 12 volts to the siren which is perfect and makes it nice and loud.

    Unfortunately the L7000 can not connect to a standard phone line so this will not work with a L7000 but it will work with the L5200. The voip service really doesn't matter since the alarm is going to be making a voice call very similar to any regular phone call . My anveo voip service works good enough that I can also arm and disarm the alarm remotely using the phone.
