@@jefftaswelder9154 we have our regular singles about 25 mins away, and some other awesome tracks within 1.5 hrs, but these ones are often a good meeting spot with some other mates 3.5 hrs away (and there's some awesome riding 3 hrs too - but usually make that an overnighter). Still plenty I haven't explored yet too. Such a cool country that we can watch everyone's local riding!

@@thomastjg53 on the Xtrainer I did - got DFX suspension and upgraded Beta springs, Gnarly exhaust, JD kit and removed air box top. Heaps better bike to ride (was already good but now it's just better all-round). This vid was on a standard 300RR - have both now.

He's really impressing me lately. Still cautious which is good but willing to give almost any hill (within reason) a fair go - and the little KLX is a tractor! Cheers for watching.

Heaps of fun - this was Day 1 of 2, we rode a similar area but probably even nicer tracks the next day (still editing) - pretty spoilt!

@@mack73 compared to standard Xtrainer it's more pokey but definitely controllable. Xtrainer with gnarly exhaust, jet kit and air box freed up is pretty comparable power wise (same motor so makes sense!). RR standard suspension is way better than standard Xtrainer but the DFX kit in Xtrainer makes it much better - but not cheap. I'm probably quicker on the Xtrainer as it is a bit nimbler for tighter tracks, RR nicer on more open tracks but I want to adjust my rear brake as I think that'll give me more confidence to go quicker on the RR - has a LOT of free play before it gives much bite at all.

@@AdvHQ Good to hear. How about the frame size. You seem large enough for the RR, curious if the Xtrainer feels more crampt? I believe the rider triangle is the same between the 2, the Xtrainer is just lower (pegs are further down on the frame) so while it is closer to the ground the rider dimensions are the same. Just wondering if you feel any difference

@@mack73 I'm 181cm and have put on a few kgs lately, about 89kg before gear, so close to 100kg geared up. I was expecting the Xtrainer to start feeling a bit small since adding some size but it still feels so comfy, nimble and plenty of torque/grunt. The lower peg and bashplate height are its only downside I reckon. You do feel a little higher on the RR but still easy ebough to manage in most areas. I'm only a novice rider so take my feedback for what it is. 🤙✊️🍻

@@AdvHQ yep. That highway speed wind buffeting gets to you. Earplugs are a must.

@@thegutsyninja8851 was a nice bike, but I never really felt comfortable around 100km/h, especially in cross-winds. Tried the Givi screen. Have a 1300cc cruiser now - feels super stable and comfy at all speeds.

@@repetitivemotion nice one mate... you'll upgrade the DRZ to a KTM and the Vstrom to a cruiser and never look back 🤙✊️🍻🤣

@@AdvHQ actually the DRZ is as far as I’m going with off-road and I also own a 2004 Honda VTX1300C. So I have all the bases covered. I’m 66 so I don’t think I need more performance in the woods. The DRZ works just fine and it’s paid for.

@@repetitivemotion awesome mate, sounds like you've found a good balance. I like the lighter feel in the bush as I'm getting older but I probably can't use that against you as I'm only 43 🤣

@@AdvHQ I know what you mean. My trail-riding buddy rides a KTM 350 6-day. I would like one but the cost is prohibitive, plus I’m just used to the DRZ it fits me. I’ve got a couple snowmobiles and 2-stroke racing karts too, so I ride on dirt, sand, asphalt, concrete, snow and ice, 12 months a year. I’m blessed

@@holden3083 bloody 500 left me for dead on Saturday - broke down, middle of bush.... 3 hrs pushing it uphill before mate came with strap to help tow. Replacing fuel pump and see how I go. Nav is Garmin Zumo XT - it's super easy to read on the go but I have no idea how to mark waypoints or anything technical - just never sat and played with it.

@@AdvHQ are the good old fuel pump strikes again. At least u don’t have to worry about your calories for the next week. lol. Cheers.

@@7450gwar101 not really. We bought the KLX new but he wasn't big enough and the CRF came up for sale around the corner. Both perfect for young riders. The KLX feels more comfortable ergonomically and power wise to me. Both easy bikes to ride and learn on.

@@nathancordova4618 I think so mate. I was gonna order the large online (as most items are L-XL that I order) but when I tried these the mediums fit well. Best to try a set to check for yourself.

Exhaust was Delkevic website, tyres, crash bar and skid plate (uninstalled and wouldn't accept refund) was Sunstate Motorcycles dealership. Good luck and enjoy the bike mate - I've moved on to a cruiser now (and dirt bikes).

Good fun, but wares ya out! Cramping towards end of that ride (4-4.5 hrs) and on drive home.

Was a 60"... was too short. Would spray the inside of the boat in a small chop.

was good to get that little stack out of the way (thankfully just a couple of scratches) - he learned a bit about down hills from that. Was good to get three back-to-back days in... started to back himself on little hill climbs, etc.

I still love the jet ski mate, but unfortunately I hurt my back in December and the jet ski hurts it way more than the dirtbikes do (hence no jet ski vids past few months). I don't want to sell it because it is heaps of fun and I hope my back comes good, but I did buy another tinny (smaller than my old boat) to go fishing/take faily out. Jet ski is definitely capable - yeah, not as comfy to fish from as a boat but the there & back is way more fun - all a compromise.

Haha you'd be right Jeff - didn't see any DRZ though. I got a bit lazy at that part of the track, didn't lift the front over that little log (was wet coz of the creek just before it). What the vid doesn't show is the off-camber and gully hills well, was a lot of up/down, turn, log... good challenge for me and probably somewhere to keep going to improve. Thanks for watching mate
