I don't really like it. I LOVE the ships, the huge pods are cool, the idea of burning away a "no-man's-land" around landing zone is normal, but this... The ship was very-very-VERY clearly designed for space. My immersion was not ruined by any tech in both movies (except for the shuttle hovering in the end of the first) but it took a big hit as soon as I thought for a sec about that scene. Each design by itself is still very cool though.
