Yes def a good fish and a great catch but u really made yourself look like an amature calling it a 50 pounder. You obviously are not an experience snook fisherman. Who cares if it isn't 50. Its light gear and a fly the guy likely tied himself. What a magnificent fish. So many guys throw big gear in passes or at bridges. give them a fly rod and see how long it takes for them to land a fish like this. Awesome accomplishment.

LOL, 50 lbs my left foot. A legitimate 30-35 pounder would trash that fly gear and saw off your skimpy leader in about 1 min.

Around 42 maybe 25 pounds

A 50lb snook would be around 58" long, think about it people that's almost five feet long. Your fish was a solid 38"- 40" and maybe 20lbs, if that, a solid fish on fly no doubt about it. BUT it was NOT a 50lb snook. 90% of all the fishing I do is chase large dock and bridge snook in waterways connected to Charlotte harbor fl (where I live and work) I fish EVERY day, not almost, every day. My pb is 49" and she was only 46.5lbs measured on a IGFA certified boga-grip scale, and from the looks of it she could have fit the front 1\3 of the one you caught in her mouth. This video is bs and you're lying; plain and simple.

Catch 40 inches all the time,. They weigh 20 lbs ! That fish only 20, 25 lbs ,. No record !!!

If you had a scale and weighed it while standing on the bottom, fish not touching the water, then video'ed it then video'ed measuring it, letting her swim away, then cutting the entire leader rig, including 6" of the fly line itself and sending it all to IGFA, you may have had a world record on fly. I agree with the others, it's no where close to 50lbs, but you may have had a fly record nonetheless.

Dude anyone that has fished that area knows what creek! Thanks a ton for not mentioning the name! Only qualm is thats a low O2/warm creek and looks like late summer early fall and boy they don't need anymore stress then pulling the hook and maybe a pic. Especially moving into the spawning season. That first fish was 18 inches, not 22-23.... Very nice fish, but very typical fish story telling. What's wrong with calling it like it is? A 16-18 inch trout is a great fish!

I see the trout was ready to breed :) i absolutely LOVE breeding trouts :D have a sea trout rive nearby in norway, and i love breeding FOR the trouts. I help the fish in the monutains nearby to breed by digging down the eggs in a good place for them :) Great fish! From fisherman in norway ;)
