One of my dream rhythm guitar setups has always been a Marshall JCM800 boosted with a Boss SD-1. people today would be surprised if they knew how good a 7 string would sound going into a boosted JCM800, it’s very good at handling those low tunings and with a cabinet loaded up with Greenback speakers it can easily handle anything from Death Metal to even a lot of modern Hardcore.

EVHs have this high clearance I like too... :) not any muddy for thrashing riffs

Nice! I think you proved the Einstein does aggressive metal. I read a few guys say the Einstein is too soft and polite to handle high gain or metal, compared to the Herbert or VH4. I disagree. Sounds great! Is it tough not being able to foots witch the modes, etc? I hear guys complaining about that.

Hey thanks. I reamped the track with a Lasse Lammert MESA Stiletto V30 IR. In the DL cab is a mix of V30 and G12.

Thankyou for that. I am contemplating a JCM 800 20 watt studio. I am a fan of tube screamers also. Up until I saw this video I had been half put off by all the negative comments on the 2203 not having much gain. What you have just played is THE tone I hear in my head when I think of a Marshall with a tube screamer. Thanks for reaffirming that I will get the perfect tone from a 2203 with a boost. I think I will go ahead and get the Marshall now. Great demo, great playing, thanks!

0:30 what's with the white noise? Do you know where it's from? I'm about to install these, I have copper tape and all to insulate, I currently have recording issues with my cheap Jackson Dinky stock pickups with white noise (grey noise?) I really hope this is coming from a dirty power source or the amp
Hey Ryan, it's the Amp. The JVM is a bit noisy but he also still have the old stock tubes.
Was ich noch geil finden würde ist, wie das mit isolierten Gitarren klingt. Am besten nur eine und unprocessed...so "in a mix" klingt das doch alles recht ähnlich ;-)

2:10 you get a good shot of the EQ of the amp. I would just adjust gain to taste
I would boost the midds and add little spring and hall reverb that would make it little bit more slayer-y

Is the amp tight without a boost for modern stuff or is one needed? If it’s tight without one is that with passives or only actives?
Yes, a boost is not necessary. The orange channel of the JVM has tons of gain and if you don't turn to much gain in it's tight as well.
Marcelo Drone good to hear. What about the red channel? Would turning up the master and attenuating help somewhat as well? I’m guessing it could considering older Marshall’s tighten up at higher volumes but I’m not familiar with JVMs. Gonna purchase one soon.
@@TheJMan1K The red channel has more gain and is thicker. ;) You don´t need to turn the amp too loud. The JVM sounds good even on lower volume. I played it the last days with diffenrent guitars and pickpups again. The JVM is really a versatile fun amp. The best results for rhythm tones I achive with the orange OD channel and a Maxon 808 with a drive from the pedal at 9o´clock and balance at noon. Cheers!
Marcelo Drone good to hear! I’m thinking an eq and noise gate in the loop is my best bet. Active pickups could drive the amp and the eq in the loop could tighten everything up and maybe add a few things to the overall tone.

Danke dir! Ich bin mittlerweile gar nicht mehr so zufrieden mit dem Sound. Ich werde demnächst ein neues Video machen. Leider kann ich dir nicht sagen wie die Settings waren. Ich habe die EL34 Version. Ich hatte die 5881 Version auch schon. Haben mir beide sehr gut gefallen, habe dann den 5881 dann aber doch weitergeben. Ja das glaube ich dir ohne Noisegate ist das auch schwer machbar die Feedbacks unter Kontrolle zu bringen. Beste Grüße und cheers!

Man most punk bands in the 90's used JCM 900 or Mesa Dual Recs! I think it's funny when I see videos with these titles "can a jcm 900 play metal" or "can a Telecaster play metal", a lot of punk bands also uaed telecasters.
1thess523 punk isn’t metal. A lot of punk doesn’t have much palm muting and as saturated gain tones as metal
