I think there are some real problems with this analysis fella. The first problem is the BAME thing, it's a complete distortion of the differences between groups. The idea that you can lump in Chinese and Indian kids (who on the whole are performing very well) with Bangladesh, Black and say kids from a travelling background (who on many metrics are far worse off than WB kids) So if you're serious about finding real solutions to these genuine problems then look at each group in context. Then I'd be looking at what has been done to level out things like income inequality, social background (eg single parent families, class etc) It's pretty obvious than children from single parent households have an overwhelmingly higher chance of ending up in care than kids with both parents in the home. In the group clustered together as "black" the 2021 census has a SPF rate of 51% and that in itself distorts the picture as middle class eg Nigerian immigrant kids don't have parents who are divorced 50% of the time. The professionals thing looks to mirror things like foreign doctors who are over represented when it comes to complaints with the GMC, being struck off..... I think the whole starting with "white supremacy" as the answer then trying to reason from there is having a distorting effect. Like any scientist, start with a foundationalist worldview, then reason from there. Because the equality and diversity starting point looks deeply flawed. The whole premise is difference (DIVERSITY) and same (EQUALITY) which is inherently contradictory. Even in systems set up to produce EQUAL(ity) outcomes like Communism and with a homogeneous cultural and racial population it still failed to produce those outcomes (so even SAME did not produce EQUALITY) The next issue I think needs to be resolved it the idea that you can explain Chinese/Indian under representation and Black Caribbean over representation with white supremacy, even with the newly made up definition. I have seen the term '"model minority myth" invoked here which in no way makes any explanation to address these disparities which do need explaining. My local adult social services tried to rip me off, they messed up my financial assessment, tried to charge me more than my entire pip benefit is monthly after not taking my living costs into account, and then after dropping me into crazy debt across a 3 month period once it was brought to light they tried to sweep it all under the rug and have left me without care for 2 years and 4 months now whilst my health deteriorates. Im still fighting to fix the situation, they (council and adult care) havent processed my complaints and are acting super unlawful. I suspect scammers are involved, either within the council, care company, or both.

Shocking that in a European country they see things through a Eurocentric lens. The word white supremacy is so flippant and provocative. The idea that anyone should be able to come here and we just accommodate our culture round them is naive and insulting.

The same for parenting support for black families, they are usually referred for Eurocentric parenting courses that do not address the issues in a culturally informed way hence these parents are usually unable to implement what they learn and/or sustain the changes and the children get re referred. That said, you also need to talk about the black social workers and black managers who are complicit with the white supremacist regime that exists in social services. These individuals are in a position to challenge but chose not to advocate for the black families and targeted SWs, I have seen it happen before my eyes and it’s sad.

I would ask about the statistics, and this is ONLY being devil's advocate, but are the statistics you have correlation or causation? I feel there is a masked discrimination in this country. I really feel humbled by other cultures and privileged to meet and immerse myself into other country cultures. I completely disagree with assimilation for immigrants and encourage integration, it is a two way street. You're dead right about people coming here since ww2, I can't recall if it was yourself or another podcast that highlighted how this country would cripple without the input from migrants coming here. I would be interested in having a more in depth discussion about this for my own learning.

When I arrived I started pointing inequality out, I had a four year degree when I arrived but my managers had a six month certificate. I was a registered student social worker years ago and no SW registration existed here in the U.K. This is why we need good quality, diverse leaders. Without this everyone will suffer on service user outcomes. We need to train people to read the room better, stand together and provide feedback, because grievances will not help. To change white leaders you need to walk alongside them, that’s how to manage some racists too unfortunately, befriend them and teach them. I know the burden shouldn’t be yours. Failing this we stay in fight-mode, not learning-mode. I learned from the best, thank you Nelson Mandela! Ah yes, “lies,lies & damned statistics”. One thing that wasn’t mentioned was the difference in what may be called “community attitudes”. Most offenders against children do not return to the area where their offences are known. They often have little choice in the matter - nobody wants them living nearby, working with them, let alone socialise with them. Family members will have nothing more to do with them. I don’t see this occurring within the Pakistani communities. After serving a (often piss-poor short) term of imprisonment they return home, into the arms of their family. There’s no difficulty getting work, if they so desire, their homes aren’t vandalised, their cars aren’t torched. It's got nothing to do with religion otherwise these people would be hanged. It's got to do with power and control. Abusive males of all backgrounds have a culture of silence which enables a culture of abuse. A small region called Mirpur is overrepresented in the "pakistani" in the UK. Within the culture of Mirpur keeping quiet about people who abuse their own kids to maintain power and control structures exists. This is extended to when they get the opportunities to abuse other kids. A culture of silence also exists within all communities when it comes to child abuse. Otherwise it wouldn't be so rife.
