Great podcast! Aric seems like a great guy.
I just picked one up from my local B&M for 12.99! Practically stole it for that price
Cool introduction
I disagree. Cubans (if good) can be some of the best flavors and tasing of all. They are their own flavor that can’t be replicated. I as well have a love and passion for the blends. I don’t really use the term new world or non Cuban. Cuban tobacco is suffering a quality control crisis and tbe prices are beyond crazy. I find myself going thru phases of where I hang out with the blends and love them! Then I take a break and go to the Cubans. Cubans are way milder so it’s hard to fully appreciate if you’re smoking some of the full flavored maduros or natural like a Padron or Fuente. But if you take some time off and acquire good Cuban cigars (aged properly, constructed properly, and if good quality). That flavor is amazing. Can’t be replicated. Just sad to see the state that they are in these days. I smoke them sparingly as 2 of my humidors are boxes of blends and 1 is only Cuban. I refuse to pay the prices and the quality in the last 10 years is awful. All my boxes that are 2010 and before smoke amazing and there is no blend id trade for them.
Get to the damn review!
ı got the sicknes after finishing my cuban cigar but I was totally fine while smoking. I was nauseus and tired 15 minutes after finishing my cigar. anyone experienced a similar thing?
Sad that men equate smoking with anything good...
Great show guys
You still sell these ?
Davidoff is way too expensive
Wow, I don't know if I have ever seen such a reaction to a Padron, lol. the guy in the hat acts like he's put a swisher-sweet or black and mild into his mouth. I guess each to their own, but I know I have smoked far worse cigars for more money. To me, Padron I dont think they are badly priced. I have had actual Cuban cigars, Cohibas, priced far more highly than Padron and can't even touch it. Padron is the first cigar I've smoked that had such a unique and complex flavor that I actually savored it, closed my eyes and just drifted away. I know, I know, the haters are going to hate. I wouldn't smoke it every day, it's too special for that, but it's definitely a celebration cigar. I've had other Nicaraguan's that are the more "defined" (to me they are kind of one trick ponies) that are like Earth and Spice for a quarter, some Cedar for a quarter, some peanut, done. I don't enjoy those as much. They just don't offer anything that I can't get from another cigar. Padron is one of those brands, I light up and I'm like.... oh yeah..... this is what I'd smoke on a beach during a sunset. I just really like that Cuban style cigar. Padron, Tatauaje, San Cristobal, etc.
To me,pardon is overrated
@@Paarls Well, compared to what? I mean, there are some cigars out there that are close to the level of Padron, but they tend to be just as pricey if not more so. The Andalusian Bull surpasses it in some respects, but try to find one of those. San Cristobal is another favorite of mine, but it costs just as much and is not as available as Padron. Not every cigar from Padron blows me away, I've had a few that were just ok, but more often than not, I light up a Padron and it brings a smile to my face. One of the best cigars I've had in my life was a well aged Padron 3000. I can't describe it, it just hit all the flavor notes of Chocolate and Spice in such a way, it just satiates the palate. I do think some cigars are over rated. For instance, I really think Arturo Fuente cigars tend to be *VERY* over rated, but I also dislike overly sweet tobacco and am not a huge fan of Dominican cigars.
Great interview with Eric. Will definitely be on the lookout for his cigars.
That's absolutely okay as long as you pay the cutting fee
I've never heard the don't tap the cigar
Pardon is the very best in the world my friends
I've smoked over 40000 cigars padron is hard to top however there's plenty of great cigars
My only knock on Padron is that the band on the thousands series is a cuban monte ripoff… cheesy in my opinion… but there are much worse offenders when it comes to ripping off cuban classics.
I love all kinds of cigars. Ive had the pleasure of enjoying a lot of different cigars over many years… I dont worship Padron, but they are top notch. Better than anything else coming out of Nicaragua. There are better value cigar options but the quality and consistency is the best Nicaragua has to offer. One of the best cigars in the world
The forbidden line I have never seen under 36$, and you didn’t say which Davidoff. Although the forbidden opus beats 70% of them
I have an evaporative cooler. Works wonders.
What you guys missed is the fact that Padron is already aged….so if factory aged for 5 years then u age for another 5 years of course it may lose flavors. Every padron I had fresh from the cigar shop was amazing I get coffee notes but I always get maduro’s
Going to a B&M is the only option. It sucks! I feel ya
Is mad anxiety normal or am I just tweaking😂
Cool! What was your most and least favourite cigar?
Soft Flame is the way to go
It would be interesting to understand what you mean by complexity, evolution of flavors perhaps? I tried the 64 maduro and it remains centered the whole time on earth and black chocolate notes. A good cigar that doesn't blow me away
Thanks a lot❤ it worked
Lots of info which is good but it would have been good to see the actual cigars
Agree - editing used to be a lot better
Appreciate the feedback! Ill make sure I do up the graphics for the next top 5: Habano!!!
Love a great Connecticut!!! These are often overlooked for more robust cigars
Top 3 cigars and why?
Omg this is amazing, dream come true, so many smokes, free ones at that!!
My favorite coffee cigar is the Alec & Bradley kintsugi.
Accomplice blue band is the connecticut. Purple is corojo.
ENJOYED THE REVEIW SMOKING BOTH OH YEAH ENJOYED
THOSE LIL BUMP ARE FROM BEING AGED, APART OF BEING TOOTHY
It was good, not great. 6/10
What cruise company did you use. The cigar lounge / bourbon bar sounds amazing
Love the ACID & CAO Flavours line.
great info....
What’s a good mild smooth smoke?
I’ve had a few in the $20ish range over the last year, some better than others, but one that always sticks out in my mind is the DTT Sin Compromiso!
Latest 20ish 20$ cigar was La Palina Reserva damn good.
Great show Guys.
Cohiba Riviera was the last $20 + cigar I smoked. I'm a cohiba fan but had no knowledge of the Riviera, it was a really nice smoke so I'll likely be inclined to grab a few again. My dad got it for me for my birthday so it was extra special to me.
Last $20+ cigar I smoked was a Cohiba Serie M. It was not bad, but there are a plethora of way cheaper cigars that are better in my eyes.
Liga Privada H99... loved it so much that I ordered a box from Neptune😋🔥💨👊
Last $20+ cigar I smoked was a Padron 1926 80th in natural. It was fine, just didn't really blow me away. I was actually more impressed with the Viva La Vida Jester in Diademas Finas. I was fully expecting to hate it being from AJ as most of his stuff is a bit too pepper heavy for me and that thing was great! It was a bit big for a full box purchase but I could see doing a box of the box or a 5 pack of the Robusto size or the new short belicoso size.
Cohiba Nicaragua n54 was good. For my money though I'd prefer a Pinkies Out.
The last $20+ cigar I smoked was the 2023 release of Alec Bradley’s Fine & Rare. I will definitely be picking up more than 1 when the 2024 release comes out. Cheers to another great Q&A episode!
Smoking a Tatuaje Tuxtula 10th anniversary. Brewed up some Nicaraguan coffee in my V60. Have the same olivewood one you do.
