    Bro, I needed a video like this. I'm in a 1958 house. I don't even want to know what's under the couple layer kitchen. I just want to super clean it and drop another layer of lux vinyl on it. I checked the raised height with a free floor sample under the doors and it's fine. But then I got stumped when I realized the baseboards would also not match heights with the living room wood floor. And I really want to put the floor until the baseboards. This will let me do that. Thanks!

    I got this dryer a few years ago and it is still working fine. Since the cabinet on the front does not look easy to take off I was wondering how to replace the element. The designs of crap nowadays is no doubt designed to discourage the DIY guy from doing anything. Most other models had an access panel on the front that you could either pull off or press some tabs in and access the element directly and easily. Thanks for the video.

    spackling the cracks won't work, that needs elastomeric caulk or you are going to get cracks. you can see cracks in the installed example.

      Just took off our winter cover about a week ago, used a simple garden pump$25 And a flexible hose and aimed it at the back of our yard near the alley. Everything started up fine. Stored the pump in our basement. the water was actually pretty clean, only needed a few bags of shock to get it ready to use.

    I have always mounted odd size caps on the horizontal, so they don't slide out of the strap. Sometimes I add a zip-tie for the same reason. If I make a bracket, then I leave the OEM one inside for the next time.

      Why

    • @HiTek3
      @HiTek3 8 місяців тому

      Brother that was rough to watch haha. A few things. First, keep an AmRad Turbo200 and Turbo200X on hand and avoid this entire thing. If you insist on using two caps, do a double band clamp. Instead of breaking the band off after the first cap, just secure the next cap with the remaining band. 1 strap, 2 caps, 3 screws. Now all the terminals are in line. Lastly, don't mount a cap upside down especially if it is an oil filled cap. There are a few reasons for this but here are two good ones: when that thing fails it's gonna make a mess. Most importantly, oil filled caps are never to be mounted upside down or horizontal because the oil will fill the top gas expansion void and part of the cell plating will be out of oil and exposed to air, leading to premature failure. But I digress.

    • @Fixintobuild
      @Fixintobuild 8 місяців тому

      @@HiTek3 I like the idea of using the same strap, I guess I just was thinking about somebody having to replace one of them in the future. But I have not heard about the capacitor being mounted upside down being an issue. I have seen a few manufacturers have capacitors from the factory mounted upside down or horizontal. More times than not it’s horizontal especially with blower capacitors

    Burnt contactor wires occur ten times more in flimsy European & original equipment contactors then far superior real deal ALLEN Bradley or Square D starters. I would remove the overload block on size 0, 1, & 2 starters to replace cheap contactors. They lasted at least 5 times longer. Should use a torque driver to set proper torque on every screw.
