From wayyyy back when....taped with the trusty old VCR on a rainy night with lots of lightning strikes in Dallas(hence the occasional glitch in the broadcast) in '93, please forgive the much less than perfect quality, its as good as i can make it.

As a Tour Guide @ Globe Life Field, who wasn’t yet here in Texas back in the days the Rangers played in their 1st home, Arlington Stadium, this is such a jewel for me to learn more of the history and events that took place in that 1st ballpark. Thank you so much for posting and I look forward to sharing some of the moments talked about in this segment with new Rangers fans as they come into the Rangers’ current home.
the year when jimmy johnson was his 5 and final year as the head coach of the dallas cowboys with 2 super bowl champions with the man himself was the head coach from the year when i was born 1989 until that year 1993 from after tom landry with the hat on and until and before barry switzer.

when bill clinton was the president of the united states on that year 1993 until 2001 after george h.w. bush and before george w. bush
texas rangers has 3 stadiums in arlington tx in the dallas fort worth area.
the home of the texas rangers for 22 years at arlington stadium in arlington tx from 1972 - 1993
Lots of great memories at Arlington stadium…. And that many more at the ballpark…. Somehow I can’t see me ever going to the new one though.
I got to see a game in their first year 1972. I remember it was against Detroit. I have the program somewhere.
The two radio stations would be one station at two frequencies, 570 and 820, shared with WBAP. Their first FM effort was known as KERA (unrelated to the present PBS/NPR stations located, ironically, at the original WFAA-TV site), which didn't last long.
These were really dark days for the Rangers. They never made the postseason once in that stadium and were almost always near the last of the pack. Arlington Stadium was not very good at all as a stadium. No amenities, bad sight lines, miserably hot with no shade in the Texas heat.

I'll never forget my first Texas Rangers game in September of 1990, could have stayed there the rest of my life
And now they are world series champions
Rangers have been in existence for 60 years and have had 3 stadiums
Rangers and Braves get new stadiums all the time
Well Sisters.. they finally did it ,.. their WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS
The wait is over the Rangers finally did it!! You're not dreaming they are 2023 World Series Champions!!!!🎉
Thanks for posting this. I went to my first MLB game at Arlington Stadium, I'm not sure when, probably 1989 or maybe 1990. I know the last game I attended at Arlington Stadium was on my 12th birthday, August 28, 1993. I almost got a foul ball from Juan Gonzalez at that game.
You’re a month older than me
Love it! Is the blond emcee Buck Owens’ son as well?
Buddy was Buck's only child. So no the emcee wasn't.
Actually the announcer with the blonde hair, Mike Lynn, was another one of Buck’s sons. I saw this on A&E’s biography about Buck Owens.
@@williamboylejr.9098 I knew it. I see the resemblance and he’s a great looking guy with a great smile.
Who is playing the keyboards and harmonica?
A few years later, Lon Wynne Park got a pool. Now that pool is history (I took my little ones there to swim 20 years ago, so that kind of broke my heart). They're about to open a splash pad in place of the pool. The times they are a-changing.
The old frying pan
At 18:39 - Karen's favorite TV program! 😆
Man, I miss Mark Holtz....gone way too soon...
I do too. I actually preferred to listen to the Rangers games on the radio back then over watching them on TV.
My dad owned a restaurant called Khaki's Fresh Food off Little Road in Arlington. One of my earliest memories was one night after work, he took me to this ballpark and parked in the parking lot and proceeded to tell me stories about it and The Rangers. Told me the next day it would be demolished. Miss you pops and thanks for the memories.
I used to go to khakis every week with my dad. Spent many a night playing street fighter and eating potato nachos there. My dad let me choose the name of the order because they called it out over the PA so I always chose something goofy. I miss the hell out of that place! Sorry to hear about your pops, i had many great memories with my own father there and the ballpark.
The last year of Arlington Stadium was also the last year for Nolan Ryan
That group was very good at their singing. Thank God for their message. Thank you for posting these shows. They brink the joy I grew up with as a child.
Believe Hal Rugg was the steel player here.
I have visited this stadium before it was moved, here you go:😍🤩😀 studio.ua-cam.com/users/videoGPJg3N-ct7M/edit
Rangers and Cowboys should play in the actual city of Dallas
They’re not far
Fox 4 is the bottom of the barrel. I wish WFAA had shown more of the weather crew. I remember Dale Milford from the 1968 to 1970 time frame. Those were the days when people like Harold Taft, Troy Dunham knew their stuff.
Where's Tom?
Granny ate this junk up R I P Granny 😥
That's because it's not junk.
My brother Richard's favorite team , his favorite players were Richie Zisk , Toby Harrah , Buddy Bell , Pat Putnam and Jim Sundberg 👍
He should never have done Hee Haw for so long
Big Springs Baptist is still there and going strong. But that rural look is sadly gone.
Yeah!
Does anyone know how many years Judge Judy been on KDFW FOX 4 at 4 p.m.? Weekdays
The place was like sitting in a giant hibachi grill in the summer, but we loved it anyway. Great memories.
I think of Don rich he was one of my favorite artists he made buck he was a very talented intertainer I wish I could gave met him !!!!! 😢
It was filmed at the old wky tv channel 4 at Oklahoma City which is now kfor
I sure do miss ole Buck and he kinda reminds me of myself cause he was a rebel that stood up to the big producers and said he was going to do things his way and I've pretty much done the same with folks that think I'm not what I ought to be.
Me too.
I covered 4 of his tunes Sat. night.
Hallu
In 1987 I was privately shown a copy of the ORIGINAL UNALTERED Zapruder film, which very clearly shows the DRIVER of JFK's limousine turn around with a gun in his left hand and kill JFK by shooting him in his head!! You can very clearly see the smoke come from his gun, and Mrs Kennedy's mouth drops open in horror upon seeing this happen, so she climbs out over the back of the car to get away from the TRUE assassin!! It is too bad that most people have never been able to see this version of the Zapruder film!!
I know you posted these years ago.... hopefully you still monitor comments. Is the "Wynne" family you mentioned the namesake of Lon Wynne park?

Around the time Chip Moody left WFAA because of his battle with Hodgkin's disease, which he end up passed away in December 2001. Tracy Rowlett left WFAA for CBS 11 the next year in 2000 until his retirement in July 2008.
Who scores the music for wfaa's let me speak to the manager?
