Great gear video Kal. I’m a big fan of SnugPak, got few of their gear like their Softie 9 Sleeping Bag & Softie Jacket which is like the sleeping bag but a jacket bought them way back in 2001-2002 which I still use today I’ve also got a few of their Jungle Blankets as well as they are really handy to have about on cold winter nights. Yeah bought the sleeping bag and jacket doing my time in the British Army, a lot of us wore the SnugPak Softie Jacket as we would upgrade some of our military gear for better gear, you either wore or had SnugPak gear or Buffalo gear which we called it our Gucci gear lol 😂 as we paid for it plus it was a better upgraded gear to what we was given even tho the gear we was given was good enough but we just wanted something a little bit more quality.

I run the Kuiu PRO LT 5500 Pack which fits so nice. Now my sleeping bag is a western mountaineering ($1200.00) Best on the market. Weighs 4lbs. Run cotton balls and charcloth.
I am on a budget
@@kalstreksandtrails7606 I hear ya I spend a lot time saving for things before I pull the trigger
Good stuff

so, at what temps can you sleep ok, without a fire or heat source, in rain and wind? I have 5 lbs of stuff that lets me do so in just cammies at 34F, in wind and rain. I have a couple of 1/4 lb each Amazon full body bugnet 'suits' and a couple of their 1/2 lb each camo nets. I wear these things as long johns, when It's cold. I've got a 1 lb net hammock, made out of a 50x10 ft monofilament gillnet, 2" mesh. The main item is an XL size, $95, reflective tyvek bivy, It will fully unzip to become a canopy and has lots of tie outs. I can wear it as a poncho, too. I envelope it in a couple of taped-together, heavy duty 55 gallon drum liners. They weigh 3 ozs each and REALLY enhance the bivy's ability to block wind and insulate me from the cold and rain. IF I dont let the bivy touch me, or touch the envelope. you NEED those 2 layers of trapped air. I use gorilla tape to create air-tight compartments. Pull the hammock and a ridgeline thru the bivy, and set it 6" off of the ground (when it's cold) kick debris under it so as to stop air flow. Because I have the bugnets, I can use debris as insulation, no bugs biting me. :-) With about a bushel of dry debris, I can handle sleeping ok at 20F degrees and if I can heat up some rocks or water bottles, 10F becomes feasible to handle. This can be done discretely in a Dakota fire pit, if the ground is not yet hard-frozen.
We will soon find out
First .great video kal
