We love everything about the great outdoors and traveling with our RC cars both our 1/10th scale and our 1/24th scale. We hit the open road searching for the perfect trails for our rigs. Working on videos of our modifications, a new 1/24th scale indoor course, an outdoor 1/10th scale course in our front yard.
USTE 2023 Diorama Build - Easy to Build Pine Trees, Part 5
Hey guys we are back at it and in this video, we have easy-to-build pine trees that work perfectly for your 1/24th scale dioramas or your indoor rock crawler courses. While these are easy to build they are time-consuming. However, they are a must in any building project and they look amazing on both our diorama and our indoor 1/24th scale RC course that we have at the house. All of the supplies for this project were found at our local hardware and craft store:
Materials:
-Wood dowels to use as the trunks. I purchased a couple of different diameters.
-Small BBQ skewers used as a spike to hold them onto the diorama
-Coconut pot liners
-A mix of fine and coarse landscaping foam. Here's a link so you know how to make it ua-cam.com/video/i4yRvcG1MhA/v-deo.html
-Spray adhesive, hot glue, and super glue
-Various acrylic paints for the trunks.
If you haven't seen our last video, you can learn how to work with Sculptamold, make rocks, and create a waterfall right here. ua-cam.com/video/wx1BNbmKE14/v-deo.htmlsi=PxR0JSXijG9B0aSj
Building our fishing cabin ua-cam.com/video/YnP4Az6qjvc/v-deo.htmlsi=nNj7lLHv8I87704L
And if you want to see our entire indoor rock crawler course where we use several of these techniques you can find that right here. ua-cam.com/video/k5iL7tB71KA/v-deo.htmlsi=tk01KbwIL_UrqUv9

USTE 2023 DIORAMA BUILD - DIY 1/24TH SCALE SHASTA
Переглядів 345Рік тому
Ok, I have to say I love how our DIY Shasta came out. I knew we were going to have a campground, but we needed something that was going to standout, and yes, we could have purchased one for about 30 bucks, but we decided to try and DIY it. We used very little supplies on this project. Most of the materials we already had on hand. Here's a quick list of what we used: Cardboard (w/o the corrugate...
Building Our Diorama For The USTE 2023 Competition-Part 1 The Fishing Cabin
Переглядів 266Рік тому
It's been a while since we put out a new video, and this time around we're changing things up. Today we're starting a new series that will be all about our first-place diorama build for The Ultimate Scale Truck Expo. Many of you at USTE were super excited that we would put out this series and while you would think that dioramas have nothing to do with RC cars or rock crawlers you're wrong. Many...

We just recently got back from Williston FL where we were attending the Ultimate Scale Truck Expo. We had no idea what to expect, and we’re surprised by how awesome this competition and event was. Day, one was all about vendor row, the diorama build off, the scale truck gallery, and we managed to fit in a couple of trails that day. If you havent had a chance to take a look at our indoor course ...
1/24th Scale Indoor Rock Crawler Course Modification - Part 4
Переглядів 1,5 тис.Рік тому
We've got another course mod for you. We decided that a new level was in order and another awesome diorama takes it to the next level. This time, we added a barn with trees, a ladder, wood slatted front, and barn doors. This new level combines our large, covered bridge and cargo net that we made last time. It also gives us space to add to, and we already have plans to add to this again. If you ...

We've got part 2 of our rock crawler course mod and today we've added a third level, 2 story teeter totter and an awesome general store facade to top off the look of our 3rd story. We reused the 2 original bridges we had and just modified the one bridge into the teeter totter. Supplies for this were miniumal: Styrofoam, brown bag, firm cardboard (without the corrugated center) for the General S...
Micro Rock Crawler Course-Cable Bridge Mod Part 1
Переглядів 3,1 тис.2 роки тому
I was playing around with my Axial Jeep Wrangler JLU on our indoor micro crawler course the other day and thought it would be awesome to make a few mods. This snowballed into a 4-part series and today, we have our PART 1. This sweet cable bridge was the perfect addition to our course. My wife wanted something that was not going to block the waterfall and these thin cables almost disappear. It i...

Injora 43mm Shock Modification on the Axial SCX24 C10
Переглядів 4,8 тис.2 роки тому
Changed out the shocks in our Axial SCX24 Chevy C10 with the Injora 43mm shocks we purchased from Amazon. They have to be the best budget friendly shocks currently on the market and are fairly easy to install. They provide a significate amount of lift & stability to a truck that is heavier due to the wood slat bed and rails. Currently, we installed them with the factory-installed springs, but t...

Welcome to Central Florida’s largest RC park. We decided to head out of Orlando and check out Scale Mountain RC Park in Ocala. I have to say the courses were pretty cool and both our 2021 TRX4 Bronco and our 1979 TRX4 Bronco had no issues rock crawling the waterfall and the suspension bridge it’s definitely a park that you need to check out if you’re in the Central Florida area. From huge rock ...

Building Our Indoor Rock Crawler Course in 1/24th Scale
Переглядів 40 тис.2 роки тому
We made this entire RC rock crawler course out of things we gathered. Most of this was made with materials we already had on hand. The items that we purchased were the 36”x80”hollow core door from our trusty Home Depot, the plaster tape, the realistic water from Woodland Scenes, and the moss rocks were all purchased from Amazon. I bought the Mod Podge from Michaels and the rest I already had. W...

We appreciate that! Take a look at our very detailed diorama build too! We’ve got awesome DIY tress that were pretty simple to make.
Me and my wife love this channel. You have really given us great ideas. The injura 43mm shocks is exactly what I needed cause I wasn’t sure if my truck would be too high. Great videos keep it up. I’m gonna have her subscribe today.

I'm so glad to finally find this channel and learn more. Seeing your work last year has helped keep my passion for 24 scale alive
I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I love building in this scale and have really enjoyed figuring out how to use every day items to make things. I’m already making my plans for my next diorama. It just need to get a little bit more inspiration.
Love the cargo net! It is so cool you made it longer than most. Too often the bridges and other obstacles seem too small and aren’t as challenging. You guys nailed it. Great work!
Thank you! The cargo net was definitely a labor of love, a little time consuming but so worth the work!
One of the best I've seen so far great job!
Wow! Thank you!
I grab rocks from that hood for my courses.simplicity is joy
Yes, once you get the hang of building these courses, you can literally find usable materials and almost anything. We love trying to figure out new things that we can use and like many others have said 90% of these items can be found for free.
Very creative looks like there's an artist in the house I wish I had the room
I love that! Yes, I’ve painted for years and now I have a new canvas. Thanks for stopping by, Jan

Wow outstanding course, I’ll be watching for more
Thank you!
Nice course.
Much appreciated! Thank you
Using a Filler Primer (sold at hardware & automotive stores) will fill in the holes on the plaster. That aside, this is gorgeous.
Thanks for the input we’ll have to try that on our next course
I've watched quite a few of these course builds...this one's the best! Amazing!!
Thank you! We’re glad the community has responded so well to our builds and vids. 👍🏼
Can you build me a course?..... 😆
@@bwiese5387 I wish I had more time in my day and definitely more room in my house to build courses 😂
Thanks for the egg cartons idea. I will definitely use that. How long did it take you to complete?
@@bwiese5387 we worked on this for about 2 weeks and built and came up with ideas as we went.
Great video! My girlfriend and I were right behind you at the registration line on Friday morning. You got nice video of our rigs in the Show and Shine competition, thanks! You’re diorama was amazing. Nice work. New subscriber.
Nice to meet you on the web. The show and shine comp was amazing. Incredible to see what people do. Thanks for the sub.
Henceforth, I will forever be known as 483! I just watched one of your crawler course build videos and you guys are skilled! I'm new in this hobby and would have loved to have went to that Expo ( i'm in the Tampa area ) to see the creativity! I subbed, liked and hit the bell. 483 out!
We appreciate the support 483. We’re working on a few other additions to our indoor course so stayed tuned!
Congratulations on the win and I don't think I could have made a better video about uste myself. Love the details you gave about the event during the video which keeps people informed and getting them interested. 🤘
Really appreciate you sharing this is my passion I love it, that’s a awesome bridge. I’ll be watching for more
We appreciate you tuning in.
Yeah congratulations on the win, that is beautiful I love it appreciate you sure I would love to go to this event but I live in Michigan Florida is just a waste for me to go
From Michigan I’d say so. However I was shocked by the number of individuals who drove down to the sunshine state for this. We’re just blessed to live pretty close to this event
With so many trails I always try to make the whole weekend, and still don't make it to all of them! Your diorama was about 10 levels above everyone else's, absolutely amazing! To win ANY award at this event is a seriously great honor. My stuff looks pretty good until you see the details some people are putting into their rigs! You definitely have to choose your lines carefully, and I love that they add the bypasses so that you don't have to exceed your "comfort level". This is the 3rd time I scrubbed off one of my mirror's at this event, which is pretty minor! The 1st time I attended (2017 ?) I found out alot about the performance of my custom built rig and learned alot from others who were there. The classes are a great way to learn new techniques for building, and I highly recommend taking advantage of them! I hope to be there next year ( been 4 times) and hope y'all can make it again next year! Subbed your channel!
Thank you so much…it’s a prettiest awesome environment with tons of helpful enthusiasts. The bypass is a great idea and it’s nice that the volunteers take time to consider as much as possible. This was our first time at the event, and will definitely be back. Thanks for the sub.
WOW congratulations on the win. Have been waiting for the results. The event looks like a lot of fun.
Thank you, I’ll be putting out a video pretty soon on building the diorama mainly because I think that a lot of the techniques that I learned in this diorama can be incorporated into some of those indoor courses that I see a lot of us building now.
Really nice. 👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Was your favorite a Defender?
I'd have to look back but I'm pretty sure it was. It was mustard yellow with a sweet overlanding setup and the Camel logo on the door. There were so many there it's hard to keep track of.
